Edo Assembly Adopt Bill Seeking Reintroduction of Monthly Sanitation

Eben Enasco Reporting

In Edo State, it is by far easier to see heaps of waste around the city center and major Street.

The issue of such dirt and environmental degradation has become an emergency for all well-meaning citizens in the State.

To address the menace, it was time for the Edo State House of Assembly backed by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended to make laws for peace, order, and good governance that will empower those saddled with the responsibilities of effecting a fusible change.

Given this obligation, at a plenary session of the Edo State House of Assembly on Tuesday, in Benin City, the member representing Ovia North East Constituency one, who doubles as the Majority Leader of the House Hon Charity Aiguobarueghian, moved a motion to re-introduce the Monthly Environmental Sanitation and a more effective waste management system that was unanimously adopted by the house.

According to available records, most cases of flood blockages in the drainages are caused by heaps of refuse dumped in canals.

The record also noted that most residential buildings with sewage outlets are openly linked to waterways and drainages in their streets.

This has become a major concern for Hon. Aiguobarueghian who at the Hallow Chambers of the Edo State House of Assembly called on members to throw their support for the bill he themed; "A motion to re-introduce the Monthly Environmental Sanitation and a More Effective Waste Management System in Edo State" to curb the environmental degradation.

Hon. Aiguobarueghian said in the times past, especially during the Fourth Republic, there was strict compliance of citizens of Edo residents with the policy of Environmental Sanitation which kept most parts of the state clean.

While appealing to all concerned, Aiguobarueghian presented his resolution to the House including calling on the Edo State Government to reintroduce the environmental sanitation exercise every last Saturday of the month, between 7 am and 11 am across the 18 local government areas of the state.

Other parts of the resolutions include LGAs putting measures to effectively monitor and manage the desilting of drainages while also advising the Edo State Waste Management Board of the need to acquire Waste Recycling Bins to tackle the menace of disposable plastic containers and cellophane materials from blocking drainages across the state.

The Lawmakers, OMOSIGHO UYI FRANK Oredo East, Bright Iyamu
Orhionmwon TWO, Eugene Inegbebor Igueben, Addeh Emakhue Isibor of Esan North East One, and others, took turns, and unison, to adopt the resolution

In his remarks, RT. Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku the Speaker of Edo State House Of Assembly mandated the clerk of the house to transmit the document to the executive arm of government.

Similarly, the State House of Assembly played host to the National Human Rights Commission Edo State Office, which was on an advocacy visit to the speaker, Rt Hon Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, and the leadership of the State Assembly to sensitize on the 16 days of activism programmed to raise awareness on sexual agenda-base issues in the state

The visiting team was led by its State Coordinator, Olumide Dosumu.

The speaker, however, assured them of the house support

The house is to reconvene on November 29, 2023.

Confident Shuaibu Declares Interest In Edo 2024 Gubernatorial, Vows Transparency.

Eben Enasco Reporting.

Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, and top contender in the 2024 gubernatorial election race says he is confident in improving the lives of the people and calls for support to attain his goals.

Shaibu made the statement in Benin City on Monday when he officially declared his interest in running for the governorship seat in his bid to succeed his principal and incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki whose 8-year tenure will end in November 2024.

Shaibu, while declaring his intention to compete at the primary election said he would run on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

While speaking on the level of infrastructure development setbacks, he assured of his commitment to bringing about speedy development in the state.

Shortly after his official declaration, Shaibu launched his campaign office in Benin City with party supporters present to trust their support toward his ambition.

While stating that he had put his life on the line for the development and growth of the state, Shaibu was involved in a running battle with Obaseki which led to the forceful reallocation of his office outside Government House.

The beleaguered Deputy Governor who lamented his recent ordeals over his decision to contest the exotic seat at the Denis Osadebe Avenue said, "I have been bruised but not crushed", stressing that no one can stop him now.

He maintained that his declaration was a call to Destiny not just a political race, where he also acknowledged the roles of traditional institutions.

Comrade Shaibu told his supporters and some party leaders who besieged his Ward Campaign Flag-off ground that his commitment to the people would be premised on four to five pillars including Infrastructure, Education, Sports, skills development, Health care, and social welfare, Agriculture and rural development to enhance food security for the state.

He noted that the last of the fifth pillars would be Securing the state from intruders by strengthening the security architecture.

The new sheriff in town, however, vowed to govern with some level of accountability and transparency.

Recall that the indifference between him and his principal earlier took a horrid deadlock when he was accused of planning a coup against him, the governor which he later tendered an apology to his principal, seeking his forgiveness.

Unmasking Quacks In HealthCare Practices: Auxiliary Nurses, In View.

Eben Enasco Reporting.

The objective of setting up a healthcare institution is to provide care in an appropriate and highly competent fashion to the specified population, usually those who are poor and without access to other sources of care.

The public institutions created by a county, city, or state to deliver health services to a specific population have an unambiguous mission and foundational institutional ethic.

Their ethics is to carry out the function for which they were created and for which they continue to receive operating funds from the public sector.

Whereas, on paper, the goals and objectives of these institutions never change, but the public's commitment wavers from year to year, with the obvious result that there is considerable variation in the level of financial support the public is willing to provide; serious underfunding for many public hospitals thus significantly compromises the quality of care in many places.

So there remains the paradox, despite an unambiguously consistent mission statement: Compromised public commitment to provide services for the poor translated to a serious loss of quality in some of these healthcare institutions.

The profit motive seldom creates untoward tension among workers at these institutions; the limits imposed by funding sources may, however, lead to the curtailing or closing of certain expensive services, perhaps to the detriment of the patients.

The CEOs of the larger of these hospitals, especially those at the more prominent academic and tertiary-care institutions, are treated and paid as though they were corporate executives.

This trend toward providing top-level management for these institutions came from the growing awareness beginning in the early 1970s that these institutions were administratively out of control or at the very least generally ill-prepared to fulfill their potential in a volatile marketplace.

Few would argue that the majority of these institutions have become heavily bottom-line-oriented.

Balancing cross-subsidization among the various payers with issues of access for the poor is a fine art.

Many of these hospitals, though losing money on every Medicaid and uninsured patient, manage to produce an overall surplus.

They do this by increasing the volume of high-paying expensive procedures on insured patients.

This goes far afield from a care mission of investing in prevention to foster healthier populations.

Positive bottom lines are often then used to implement programs aimed at increasing "market share" for the hospital, rather than increasing services for the most needy.

This part makes the health care system porous with those without relative professional backgrounds occupying sensitive operations.

Yes, the quacks are lined to replace the specialists

The word quackery in the medical profession sometimes refers to those murderers who have no idea about the implications of the drug they administer.

These professional charlatans take advantage of the porous checks and fast-selling drugs in the townlet and random society in the medical community to usurp unsuspecting millions of Nigerians.

These people are in our community, hinterlands, motor parks, and cruel streets in our places of residence.

It is no longer news that Nigeria lost 3,782 nurses to the UK alone in the year 2021, this is according to figures released by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of the UK and since then the figures have skyrocketed.

Similar figures apply to the other segments of the Nigeria Health sector; a gross loss of skilled manpower.

However, several efforts have been made towards reverting this dangerous progression with none seems to be working.

This progression is gradually creating a defect in the Nigeria healthcare delivery framework; which can best be described as a case of “National Diabetes”.

According to data from the World Bank and Nigeria Medical and Dental Council, Nigeria produces an average of 3,000 doctors yearly and currently has about 35,000 doctors practicing, and an estimated doctor-to-patient ratio of 4 per 10,000 population which makes the Job uneasy to continue.

According to data from the Nigeria Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, the school produces about 12,000 nurses yearly and has a total workforce of 250,000 registered Nursing and Midwifery professionals across the country.

Despite the above figures, it is estimated that Nigeria will require an additional 149,852 doctors and 471,353 Nurses to meet its rising healthcare professional need by 2030.

A report by the International Institute of Investigative Reporting estimated that within a-two year period,(2018-2020), Nigeria lost over 9,000 doctors to the UK and other countries.

Before the year 2015, healthcare professionals leaving the country were mainly junior-level professionals.

However, over the last 7 years, the dynamics have changed.

More and more high-level professionals are leaving the country.

Considering the existing shortage of high-level professionals, if this trend continues unchecked, two grave consequences await the nation.

First is the imminent collapse of medical training architecture in the country, and second is the loss of standard of healthcare practice.

Due to the aforementioned, the Auxiliary Nurse now treats, administers, and sometimes carries out minor operations on patients.

Although Auxiliary nurses can perform various tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with personal hygiene, feeding, dressing, mobilizing, administering medications, monitoring health status, providing health education and counseling, and referring patients to higher levels of care when needed.

Auxiliary nurses can also help improve access to key maternal and newborn health interventions in low-resource settings by providing antenatal care, postnatal care, family planning, immunization, and management of common illnesses.

According to Public Health Nigeria, the main responsibility of an auxiliary nurse is to ensure patients are kept as comfortable as possible.

They wash and dress incapacitated patients, feed patients at meal times, and help those who have difficulty walking, to get around.

They also help the elderly and disabled with going to the toilet.

They also assess patient’s health by taking temperatures, measuring weights, and assessing respiration levels.

An auxiliary nurse also performs minor medical procedures and assesses blood pressure levels. She or he will also make the patient’s beds and assist with the general upkeep of the ward.

They also work alongside healthcare scientists, assisting them in the identification and treatment of a range of diseases.

They also help healthcare scientists with the analysis of blood and urine samples and patient histories. All under the supervision of health care professionals.”

Speaking on the training of auxiliary nurses, consultant orthopedics at the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, Abuja, Dr. Ganiyu Aremu, told a source that auxiliary nurses are trained by doctors in private hospitals for some time and when they are employed by other hospitals, they are also retrained to adjust to the culture and practices of the hospital.

According to him, auxiliary nurses are trained by doctors in private hospitals and the systems that are peculiar to that particular doctor, the way he does his things, and the way he expects people, who work with him, to also do things.

So, if a doctor employs an auxiliary nurse who has worked in another hospital, he will have to retrain the auxiliary nurse to the level of how he does his things. The same goes for nurses and doctors.

Agreeing with Dr Aremu it is clear that there is no training to be an auxiliary nurse which is synonymous with being an apprentice. There is no school of auxiliary nursing. It is private hospitals that train them. Some of them spend two to three years in training. After their training, they get their certificate. It is like an apprentice. They may have the technical skills but they lack the theory to back it up.

Despite their lack of qualifications, they seem to take on some important roles in the healthcare setting. Consequently,

Auxiliary nurses have become very important in filling the gap created by the Japa syndrome where registered nurses are in short supply in the country.

According to him, “The Japa syndrome is complicating things. It has a damaging effect. The nurses who are fresh graduates don’t even apply to work anymore, they write exams and start planning to relocate.

In most private hospital practices, it is not possible to get the number of qualified nurses that we need. There is a shortage because the salary is not commensurate, it is poor compared to government hospitals.

Most of them graduate and do not come to private practices and this is what informed the auxiliary nursing.

Auxiliary nurses are most times preferred and employed by private hospitals because of their cheaper wages because they have become a temporary solution to the gap created by the Japa syndrome.

So, to train more nurses would probably assure the masses of a veritable healthcare system and not engage quacks like auxiliary nurses.

If they want additional qualifications, they can go for midwifery training and become staff nurses/midwives.

Remember the auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe who is one key element of the current investigations, who reportedly treated Mohbad a Nigerian musician before his demise.

The suspicion looming over her is that the injection administered by her may have contributed to the singer's tragic end.

Imagine if the investigation is concluded and found to be true, you will imagine tens of thousands of Nigeria who would have been murdered through similar traits.

In the medical profession, there are so few people monitoring the practitioners including the auxiliary nurses.

The auxiliary nurses have no regulatory bodies that monitor their actions when they administer drugs to patients.

Auxiliary nurses have no place within Nigeria’s healthcare system and laws, legal experts, nursing and medical professionals have insisted.

They said that a nurse or midwife is either registered by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, or the person is a quack.

The Nigerian Medical Association NMA is the umbrella body of all medical and dental practitioners in the nation.

With over 40,000 members from 36 state branches and the branch from the federal capital territory, the NMA is the largest medical professional body in the West African region and about 19,000 in the Diaspora.

The Association holds training courses for doctors and participates in radio programs and TV talk shows.

It has several ongoing projects including those on AIDS, family planning, and primary health care.

But is it on record that the same training courses are prepared for auxiliary nurses to close the gap?

In Nigeria, the malaria parasite and typhoid fever are common illnesses that have been staggering in every home. The curative in the time past was very effective. Those directed to administer drugs to patients likely failed to do their parts which may have led to several lives lost to medical treatments.

Quackery is a crime in the country’s healthcare system and the constitution, and without a license, nobody is permitted to provide any medical or healthcare services to a patient without the prerequisite training certification.

The government at all levels must find a way to educate these hospital assistants to have a fundamental and relative medical background to make the work easier for them as their intervention would make society safer from quackery.

NDDC: Oil-Producing Community's Youths Allege Marginalization, Want Hon. Aisowieren Out.

Eben Enasco Reporting.

A coalition of Oil Producing host Community Youths in Edo State is alleging of being marginalized and relegated in the scheme of things, by the Nigeria Government.

At a gathering on Friday in Benin City, the Edo State Capital, the think tank of the group, Engineer This Osagie charged the President-
elect, Bola Tinubu to revisit the process of engaging Representatives for Equity and Justice.

The youth proponents include Communities from Orhionmwon, Ikpoba Okha, and Ovia North East Local Government Areas of the State.

They believed that the appointment of Hon Patrick Aisowieren negates the Constitution of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, seeking his replacement with a representative from core oil-producing communities.

They are raging over the rationale behind the continuous neglect by the outgoing administration of President Mohammadu Buhari, just as they urged the authority to withdraw the appointment of Hon Patrick Asowieren, who they claimed is still a serving member Representing Uhunmwonde/ Orhionmwon Federal Constituency at the Lower House of the National Assembly.

He maintained that the appointment of Hon. Aisowieren is not in compliance with the Provision in Section 12 subsection one of the NDDC Establishment Act 2000.

Osagie noted that the act clearly stated that the nominee for the position of any state Representative shall be indigent of Oil Producing Area, adding that Hon Patrick Aisowieren is not an indigene of the oil-producing area, in Edo State.

While appealing for government intervention, he explained that the affected communities have also suffered poor infrastructure development, despite being oil-producing communities in the State.

He vowed not to relent in his advocacy for what he believes is the right procedure.

Three Reportedly Died As Trailer Rammed Into Popular Transport Coy in Benin-Lagos-Expressway.

Eben Enasco Reporting.

Two passengers on Saturday lost their lives when a trailer driver smashed from behind a Popular Transport Company, Iyare Motors heading to Benin from Lagos leaving many others with life-threatening injuries.

The incident was said to have happened in the afternoon around the former toll gate area in the Benin-Lagos expressway.

According to a viral video uploaded by a third party and seen by our correspondent a vehicle of the Federal Road Safety Corp, FRSC, was seen carrying out a rescue mission while some passenger's bodies as well as relics of passengers load littered the ground where the incident occurred.

When contacted on a telephone conversation, a man simply called VICTOR who identified himself as the Manager of the Coy, confirmed the incident of the casualty.

Victor disclosed that the truck lost control after a faulty break when he rammed into a Siena bus and other vehicles, including a twelve-seater bus belonging to Iyare Motors plying the route leaving two of the passengers dead on the spot.

Also speaking on the incident, the Spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corp, FRSC, Edo State Sector Command, Ukor Orevaoghene said the accident happened around the former toll gate area.

Orevaoghene noted that three persons died as a result of the accident adding that she will furnish more information about the accident at the earliest days.

UNIBEN ELECTROCUTION:
Relatives Accuse BEDC Of Negligence, Seek Justice.

Eben Enasco Reporting.

Relatives of the electrocuted Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, Staff, who was carrying out Repairs on faulty poles and cables at the University of Benin, Ekewuan Campus, are accusing the Distribution Company of negligence resulting in his death.

The victim identified as Frank Aigbe Dickson reportedly died after an 11kv high-tension cable sniffed life off him while on official duty.

They are demanding that the identity of the BEDC staff that switched the high-tension cable on while he was fixing the faulty part of the cable be revealed to face justice for what they alleged as calculated murder.

Recall that Pandemonium erupted at the premises of the Ekehuan campus of the University of Benin
on Thursday, over a Video that went Viral where Frank was stuck and electrocuted while trying to fix a fault on an 11kv high-tension cable.

The deceased Frank Aigbe Dickson was seen at the top end of an electrical pole cleaning the insertion's gate, evidently trying to fix a power problem in the axis when he was caught up by a high-tension voltage that got him burnt and rushed to the hospital where he later died.

It was also learned that the light was not turned off from the central switch before he embarked on repairing it.

Speaking with our correspondent, a relative, Susan Asemota, and Kenneth Ogbede argued that Frank's death shouldn't have happened if BEDC had done the obvious.

They claimed that Frank who just celebrated his first marital anniversary with his now-widowed wife was deliberately killed

The duo questioned the rationale behind the despatch staff who was on duty when the high tension was reportedly switched on and called for the identification of the despatched staff to be arrested and tried for a clear murder

Wilfred Ikuvbogie, a former BEDC staff who also corroborated the family's claims said Frank was attached and working on an 11KV Evbuotubu dedicated line connected to the University of Benin and engaged on the black Thursday, to fix the faulty poles and cables.

He is accusing the staff who was said to be on duty to operate the despatch switch where the lines are either switched off or turn on before major operations or repairs are carried out of deliberate negligence resulting in the death of Frank.

Ikuvbogie who is challenging the management of BEDC to step up its investigation mechanisms as measures to address the issue, said he has reported the incident to the Evbuotubu Divisional Police Station.

According to some members of his family, Frank reportedly came back in the morning before his death after completing a night shift in the office.

The family source said several such electrocution incidents happened to the now-deceased Frank a week before his untimely death but narrowly cheated death and could not survive the Thursdays that claimed his life.

Responding to the incident, Top management staff of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company led by its Human Capital Development officer, BEDC, who gave his name as simply Obinna, pledged to carry out a detailed analysis on the incident to ascertain the next line of action when they paid a condolence visit to the family at Etete, GRA Benin City.

Obinna and others in the entourage described Frank as a committed staff who will always deliver when called to duty and could not be easily overlooked.

However, no statement has been issued by the University of Benin authority over his death but Benedicta Ehanire, the public relations officer of the institution was said to have denied having knowledge of the incident when various media sources reached out to her for comments.

However, Frank's death from the incidents is one of many incidences that have consumed several staffers of the Electricity distribution coy who many sympathizers and onlookers ascribed to negligence and envy within the internal staffer's cycle.

IYOWA HEADSHIP TUSSLE: High Court Fix Date For Definite Hearing

Eben Enasco Reporting.

A High Court of Justice in Okada Judicial Division has set June 13, 2023, for a definite hearing over who becomes the authentic Odionwere, Village head, of the Iyowa Community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

The melee is between two factions Nonagenarian, Pa Samson Obazee, a 93-year-old man, and one Pa Enotiemwomwan Igbinidu 95-year-old who is laying claim to the Odionwere stool in the community.

In an enrollment of order placed before the court by the claimant's Counsel O.M Obayiuwana on behalf of Pa Enotiemwomwan Igbinidu against the Respondent, Samson Obazee seek the court to restrain the respondent from parading himself as the Odionwere.

The court on hearing the claimant's relief sought in the suit for Interlocutory Injunction, however, call for both parties to maintain the status quo 'ante bellum' and keep the peace while adjourning till June 13, 202,3 for a definite hearing.

Days after the Court adjournment, the Pa Obazee's faction of the Odionwere of Iyowa Community on Saturday, said he remains the authentic head of the community giving the position of the Court.

Addressing newsmen at the community town hall, Counsel to the defendant, Unity Omatseye said the matter of who becomes the Odionwere of the community is already in court and that it has ordered them to maintain the status quo.

He claimed that his position as the Odionwere of the Iyowa community was penultimately validated by the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Ewuare ll, CFR.

Omatseye said Pa Obazee has been the Odionwere of the community having taken over from his successor and while exercising his rights, suddenly, the youth leader, Etiosa Ighodaro, allegedly brought in one Pa Enotiemwomwan Igbinidu whom he introduced as the Odionwere against the will of the people

Corroborating the claims, the Secretary of the community, Pa Reuben Owie, alleged that, Etiosa Ighodaro, who has been the CDA chairman for over 18 years before it was proscribed by the Oba of Benin, in connection with some individuals in the community, brought in one Enotiemwomwan Igbinidu and introduced him as the Odionwere of the community.

This was, however, countered by the counsel to the claimant, O. M Obayiuwana who described the claims by the defendant's counsel as misleading, arguing that the matter is before the court.

According to the counsel who quoted the court paper with suit No. HCOK/16/2023, there is no other Odionwere the court has asked to maintain the status quo than his Client, Pa Enotiemwomwan Igbinidu who abinitio assumed the stool before the crisis.

The struggle for the Odionwere stool in Iyowa has generated heightened tensions and continued to place the community in a bad light with a flurry of gunshots now and then.

Land Grabbing: Why Former Egbirhe Youths Leader, Jolly Owie, Is Facing Two Counts Charge, Others In Court.

Eben Enasco Reporting.

The campaign against land grabbing in Edo State is gradually sniffing out perpetrators.

All thanks to the Edo State Government who sees it as a priority to set up the Private Properties Protection Committee to check the activities of land grabbers in the state.

Edo State government has said the ongoing campaign against land-grabbing in the state is part of measures to ensure law and order as well as restore sanity in the built sector.

Hon. Justice Alero Edodo-Eruaga, Retd, was appointed the Chairman of the Private Property Protection Committee.

Justice Edodo-Eruaga, Retired, had at the close of sitting sometime in January 2023, informed other members of the committee that a review of all cases under the purview of the committee will be done, to assess the merits and demerits of each case to expressly bring the matters to a logical conclusion or strike them off where necessary.

Months later, the government's stance in assuring that erring individuals would be prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others is yielding dividends and gradually giving a deadly punch to all intending land criminals in the state, despite the very revealing error undertaken by the Edo State Government in the pulling down of multi-million naira worth investments at Oke Oroma Community in Ikpoba Okha, that left tens of hundreds of investors in excruciating pains after the government flouted court order restraining it.

Typical of the progress recorded is the arraignment of Jolly Owie at a High Court of Justice, Criminal Court 4, Benin City; on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at a time, was the Youths Leader, at Egbirhe Village, in Iyakogba Ward Two, Oredo Local Government Area.

Jolly Owie was arraigned On two Count Charges of Unlawful Encroachment of Land and Sale of Land Without Authorization.

His Arraignment is premised on A Parcel Of Land Measuring 200ft by 200ft Situated at Egberi Community Belonging To One Kingsley Ezeayim.

Although he pleaded not guilty To both Counts, he was granted bail on the condition that he pays 500,000.00 as well as present a surety who owns a building Property within the jurisdiction by the presiding judge as the court resumes sitting over the matter of May 25, 2023.

According to a source who is craving anonymity from the community, Four plots were given to a retired Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, Dickson Osamwonyi who was the former Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Oba Market 2010 with valid documents by elders of Egbirhe Community.

The source revealed that Jolly Owie was also a signatory to the landed property given to the former Police Chief.

CSP Osamwonyi retired, was said to have sold a portion of the four plots to one Kingsley Ezeayim whose intention was to build a residential home there.

It was learned that between 2016 and 2017 Jolly Owie went behind and sold off the same landed property to another buyer.

When the first buyer came and wanted to develop his plot, he discovered that another person was building a sawmill.

While, in shock over the new development, Kingsley Ezeayim attempted to find out what has suddenly become of his investment from the Former Police Chief, which he denied to have had anything to do with another buyer.

On launching an investigation, it was learned that Jolly Owie did the reselling of the land unnoticed by the Police Chief until the bubble burst.

Jolly Owie who also at a time was illegally installed as the Chief Priest, Ohen, of Egbirhe Village by the former Senior Spectre bearer also addressed as Odionwere Omuada, to the Benin Monarch, Roland Ekhoe Omo -Ogbebor, is entangled in a series of land grabbing matters within the community.

Besides the two counts charge hanging on his neck, the embattled chief priest is said to be facing numerous charges bordering on land clutching in most courts across Benin City

Several petitions have been written in the past against Jolly Owie that never sees the light of the day because he was always shielded by some unscrupulous elements including the notoriously suspended odionwere Omuada
for allegedly impersonating the palace and engaging in sacrilegious acts.

The suspected atrocities committed by the embattled Jolly Owie, spill across the community land grabbing and were persistently backed by the suspended aide of the Benin Monarch, HRM Oba Ewuare II, who was on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, ordered to be remanded in a Correctional facility in the State.

The Ban placed on the Senior Spectre bearer, otherwise referred to as Odionwere Omuada by the Benin Traditional Council from participating in all Palace and cultural-related activities for alleged sundry criminal activities, during and after his time in service, exposed his stooges including Jolly Owie and other bonded cabals who will always tell their victims to go to hell.

Until the decision of the Benin Traditional Council, BTC, deterring order on the former odionwere Omuada, Roland Ekhoe Ogbebor from all activities relating to the Palace of the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Ewuare Second, his prevailing illegal authorization marauded the entire Benin Kingdom, living many homes in lamentation with hopes of recovering land sold by community oppressors/ grabbers fading per seconds.

A statement released, authorized, and made available to newsmen Wednesday in Benin City, by the Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council, Frank Irabor noted that his suspension from the Palace is with immediate effect.

Irabor in the statement, disclosed that Roland Ekhoe’s Suspension was informed by his recent invitation by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, alongside the Nigerian Police for Questioning.
