"I abandoned People's Democratic Party - PDP for All Progressive Grand Alliance - APGA because it appears that nobody wants the truth" says Abia frontline Guber Aspirant- Chief - Dr. Gregory Iyke Ibe, PhD OFR, Chancellor Gregory University Uturu.

Prof. Ibe who was a Governorship Aspirant on the platform of PDP in Abia State, now in APGA said he dumped the party because it appears there is no gentleman seeing what is good in the State.

According to the Gubernatorial Aspirant, everything about PDP in Abia is deceit and lies and it can no longer be sustained. He said that Abia PDP is politicising and lying about everything in the State for some individual selfish interests without regards to public interest .

“Nobody is a gentleman any more because of politics. PDP will tell you good morning when it is not morning. It will renege on every agreement it makes . I’m a gentleman, I stand by my words, I want to remain a gentleman. I am not ready to go back to PDP again. I am now fully in APGA and there is no going back, ” he said.
The APGA Guber Aspirant also gave reason he wants to govern the State, saying he wants to bring his private sector experience to leap-jump the state to greater height.

According to him, his private and successful business experience was added advantage for him to reposition the State if elected the governor.

“I have done it in private sector and will repeat the success story in Abia State if elected. I am one of the largest investor in the State and I am coming to add value ” he said. He said that as UN consultant and having being part of transformation crew in Obasanjo’s government, he is better equipped to lead Abia State to greater glory.

"Abia State is suffering because the right person has not been given the opportunity to lead" he said. He also described leadership recruitment as a major problem affecting the development of the State, stating that the State would continue to suffer until there is proper recruitment process.

According to him, the State has been recruiting people who were not prepared for leadership position over the years and it is time now to recruit people who are ready and prepared to work for the people .
Ibe said that if the state recruitment process were anchored on merit with people of managerial skills like him, Abia State would have been developed beyond imaginations.

“People with proven records of management skills should be allowed to lead Abia State now. I am offering myself with my wealth of experience acquired over the years in private sector to lead Abia.

“I have all it takes to lead Abians to glory. If I am elected the Governor of Abia State, no child or community would be neglected again” he concluded.

Prof Gregory Ibe yesterday hosted a powerful delegation of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs made up of Sharon Bar-Li, Deputy Director for Africa, Idit Abu-Rosenzweig, Head of West Africa Department and David Freeman, Ambassador to Nigeria. The team visited Prof Ibe's Inno8 Hub Centre to further discussions on ways to strenghten and exploit existing partnership arrangements between the centre and the state of Israel. Prof Ibe never loses any opportunity to add value to society.

There are some gestures that are worthy of emulation and this made me to recalled the event that took place on Monday, July 13, 2020.

When all hopes was lost, in midst of unspeakable hunger, northing seems to work out anymore, the Government house was closed, all banks, markets, shops, vehicular movements everything was shortdown.

And what was the faith of the less privileged, what was the hope of the widows, the orphanage and the aged.

Amongst all political Elites in Abia State, there comes a Man named Prof. Gregory Ibe whom God actually used to wipe the tears of the needy.

Single handedly, Prof. Gregory Ibe powered a palliative distribution exercises as food security in all the seventeen(17)L.G.A in the State.

His knack for Charity as a Philanthropist made him retariated that he must cater for the well-being of all members of the society without recourse to their political or tribal affiliations. He emphasised that his interventions is to improve the lives of the less privileged members of the society.

For the COVID-19 period, the palliative served as food security for the less privileged in Abia State, which was later extended to other states in Nigeria.
