Elikpokwuodu Community In Rukpokwu Clan, Obio/Akpor LGA, Rivers State Has Placed A Law That Will Kîll Anyone Who Commits Adultry

Leadership of the community said the law which is guided by an oath was placed to avert further matrimonial calamities in the land.

The law states that any woman married to an Elikpokwuodu man that have s*x with any man that is not her husband while his husband is still alive will die.

Any man that sleeps with his fellow community brother’s wife will die.

Any man or woman that will go extra mile to defile this oath either in a shrine, Church or any spiritual circle will die.

Any woman that will induce her husband with juju to make him less of a man so she can control the marital affairs will die.

PDP SUSPENDS RIVERS REP. MEMBER FOR ANTI-PARTY ACTIVITIES

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Rep. Awaji-Inomek Abiante (PDP- Rivers) , representing Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency for anti party activities.

This is contained in a statement signed by the caretaker committee chairman of his Ward 1, Ngo town, Andoni, D**e Bara, and the secretary, Dokubo Jackson on Monday in Port Harcourt.

“That Hon. Awaji-inomek Abiante should be, and is hereby suspended from the party for not only promoting factions at the ward level but also belonging to a group under the guise of the party: not being a group provided for in the party’s constitution. Which action is in breach of Sec. 58(l)(j) of the party’s constitution.

“Furthermore, the suspension of Dagomie Abiante became indispensable putting into consideration his involvement in organising, training and equipping group of members for the purposes of employing violence coercion and other form of intermediation within the party. Thereby, breaching section 58(l)(k) of the party’s constitution.

“We are committed to the party and determined to w**d out bad eggs who are acting as agents of opposition political parties to weaken our party no matter how highly placed and to ensure that our ward remains PDP irrespective of the inducement and threat.”

Junior Pope: Late Nollywood Makeup Artist, Abigail Frederick, Buried In Akwa Ibom

The late Nollywood makeup artist, Abigail Fredrick, 24, has been laid to rest in her hometown in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, on Monday.

Frederick was among the five film practitioners, including Junior Pope, who died when their boat capsized on the River Niger last Wednesday.

It was reported that the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, instructed that her body be returned to the state for a proper burial after she was said to have been buried by the riverbank.

Following the governor's directive, her body was exhumed on Sunday, April 14.

A candle-light procession was also said to have been held in her honour.

A Facebook user, Ubong David, who shared pictures from the burial on Monday wrote, "Today, the late Abigail Frederick, the Nollywood makeup artist who tragically lost her life in the ill-fated boat mishap, has been laid to rest at the family compound in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area.

"The funeral service was conducted by the Church of Christ, Ikot Udoma, and was attended by various dignitaries, including the Eket Transition Committee Chairman, Akaniyene Tommey; Commissioner for Tourism, Charles Udoh; SA on Entertainment, Moses Eskor; Godfada Uko, members of the Eket Transition Committee, Nollywood actress, Eve Esin, the Nollywood community, friends, and sympathisers."

FG declares Tuesday, Wednesday public holidays

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday. 9th and Wednesday, 10th April, 2024 as Public Holidays to mark Eid-el-Fitr Celebration.

The holiday was seen in a letter by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, on Sunday, April 7.

It partly reads: "The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Tuesday. 9th and Wednesday, 10th April, 2024 as Public Holidays to mark Eid-el-Fitr Celebration.

"The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunj-Ojo who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government congratulates all Muslim Ummah for the successtul completion of the fasting in the holy month of Ramadan."
