For the fact that Davido is not responding π
Puma offered Wizkid a multi-million deal, but Davido ended up signing it! π
Over the years, Davido and Wizkid have been a blessing to the culture, though their friendship has had its ups and downs, but after uncovering what led to this recent events, itβs hard to say if theyβll ever be friends again. π
βMoney means nothing to me. Iβm a well-grounded man in family and love!β - Wizkid, replying to tech guru Nelson Elpega who said Puma went for Davido because he was more popular.
Nelson went further, claiming Wizkid hasnβt had a hit in the last 4 years:
βYouβre a junior to Ayra Starr, Tems, and Rema. You havenβt had a hit in 4 years, yet youβre tweeting at Davido, whoβs in the US unveiling his Puma collection!β
Wizkid responded:
βI turned down Puma because they could no longer afford to pay me what I wanted! Iβm way bigger than the artists you mentioned! Not jealous, love them allβ¦β
Nelson fired back:
βPuma is worth $6.1 billion. Itβs not that they couldnβt afford you; they offered less because Davido is more relevant!β
Wizkid clarified:
βPuma is a big brand, but their budget for Africa wasnβt for me! It was cool for your client though!β π¦
