Please hear me out and consider this proposal:

I suggest we revert to our former currency.

Returning to this old currency could potentially resolve all our exchange rate issues.

Simply take it to a Bureau de Change and exchange it for 1£.

Ultimately, this could establish a 1:1 exchange rate between the Nigerian pound and the UK pound.

Commissioning of the Old Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, I mean the same old road from Area Command at Sagamu, Iperu, Ode Remo to Saapade by HE Governor Dapo Abiodun Today…

Mr. Governor sir,
I hope you remember that the road you’re commissioning today is not complete yet. You started well from Sagamu (Area Command) and the road construction ended at the front of your own house

The road construction project is expected to cover the three Local Government in Remo Federal Constituency, but we are surprised it stops at the front of your house at Iperu Remo depriving the people of Remo North the opportunity.

I hope the representatives of the governor at the federal constituency, and at the Local Government and also the leaders of his political party at the Local Government are seeing this?

HE Prince Dapo Abiodun should endeavour to do this for us at least before commissioning,
I have seen the post of the youths and people of Remo North who are users of this road since yesterday calling on the governor to help us get this done to Saapade

If it’s Ogun State Governor from another division of the state, I trust my youth of Remo North, they would have protested this.

An injury to one is injury to all,
Where are our stakeholders in Remo North, this is the road that serves all the towns in Remo North Local Government, from Ode-Remo, towards Isara, Akaka to Ilara, to Saapade, back to Isara, and also to Ipara Remo

This is supposed to be the major benefits of the people of Remo North Local Government in this present administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will NOT make a broadcast to the nation on Wednesday to celebrate his first anniversary as the leader of Nigeria.

Instead, the President will address a joint session of the National Assembly, which has lined up a programme to commemorate 25 years of the nation's democratic journey at both the executive and legislative levels.

President Tinubu’s speech will dwell on the achievements of his administration and Nigeria's democracy since the military ceded power in 1999.

Former Senate President, Senator David Mark, former speaker of the House of Representatives and now President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila are all lined up to address the parliament.

Also lined up to speak is the former military ruler, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, who handed over power to civilian administration in 1999.

At the end of the speeches, President Tinubu will commission the National Assembly Library and Resource Center, now to be known as Bola Ahmed Tinubu Building.

Nigerians use 400 million condom annually

Society for Family Health (SFH) has disclosed that Nigerians consumed over 400 million condoms annually.

Speaking in Lagos on Tuesday during the launch of Flex condom, SFH’s Managing Director, Bright Ekweremadu, said that the 400 million condom consumption may still be far below the NGO’s estimation going by the rate of unprotected s*x in the country.

He said the new brand of condom which comes with a lot of flavours, has more strength and could last longer during the period.

“We have been in the business of condom production for over 30 years. We have done a lot of things in educating people to embrace abstinence with our zip-up campaign. There are obviously s*xually active Nigerians who may not totally abstain from s*x and this led to our alternative, particularly at this time when HIV/AIDs is prevalent in the country,” he said.

Ekweremadu added that the Society would continue to make condoms available to Nigerians at affordable prices because they are subsidized by donor agencies.

”What we are doing now is expanding choices for the s*xually active Nigerians who are using condoms. So we have varieties of condoms with different features to make s*x worth it, for those who will use the condom. We are not promoting s*x. What we are promoting is responsible s*x. If you know you cannot abstain, the best thing is to use Condoms it’s safe for you and your partner”, he said.

Former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has told of a purported attempt he made to reconcile ex-Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola with President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2023 presidential election that brought the incumbent into office.

Aregbesola was a Commissioner in Lagos while Tinubu held sway as the State governor.

The former Osun governor was also Tinubu’s man Friday until they both fell out on account of the acrimony between Aregbesola and his successor, Adegboye Oyetola, the reigning minister of Marine and Blue Economy, who is the President’s blood relative.

Daniel, currently representing Ogun East in the Senate in an interview with The Nation, said in the build-up to the 2023 presidential election while galvanising support for Tinubu, then All Progressives Congress candidate, he tried to convince Aregbesola to support his former principal.

According to the Senator, “We formed a committee. And Bola Tinubu did not send us. We felt that of all of them, he was the most experienced, he was the most qualified, and he was the most senior.

“It’s not as if some people didn’t also come to me and say, look, OGD, it is you we want to use. And I said ah, no, no, no. Tinubu is running o (laughs) No, forget it! But some of us fell into that kind of temptation.

“There’s none of them I didn’t go to see. We went to Ekiti, we saw Kayode Fayemi. I went and saw Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. I said ‘Ogbeni, what’s wrong with you? Ah! Kilo nsele (what’s going on)?

“Look at me; we both know how…What’s going on? Don’t allow yourself to be used, and all of that.”

Ogun APC hits Gbenga Daniel over statement on Agro-Cargo Airport, others
..says his comment represents hallucination of a serial failure

The Ogun State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has carpeted the former Governor of the State and Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, over his recent interview on some of the projects going on in the State.

Daniel, in a recent interview said he initiated some important projects which were under reported due to 'bad press', including the iconic Gateway Agro-Cargo Airport started by the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun about three years ago and nearly completed with the longest runway and largest apron in Nigeria and West Africa corridor.

Reacting to Daniel’s statement on Sunday, Tunde Oladunjoye, the Publicity Secretary of APC in the State, said the statement credited to Daniel was nothing but a product of hallucination by a serial failure.

He insisted that the lawmaker did nothing to suggest seriousness of his administration to build any airport in the State, adding that the former governor in his usual character merely announced the proposed airport and the intending location as mere political statement for immediate gains.

According to Oladunjoye, the area proposed for the airport by Daniel’s administration remained a thick forest while billions of naira were siphoned under the guise of consultancy for the implementation of the project.

"Unlike the deceptive 8-year administration of Daniel, that was characterized with high level of fraud, political assassination and widespread brigandage, Abiodun came on board with integrity, and purposeful leadership skill, which is practically responsible for the remarkable success his administration had recorded in the last five years, and the reason for the present headache of his hitherto traducers, including Gbenga Daniel.

"Setting the record straight, like many other failed Governors of Daniel type, who merely made political statements about projects to manipulate people's emotions and deceive them for political gains, the Agro-Cargo Airport situated at Ilisan-Iperu axis of the State was just one of the many areas where Otunba Gbenga Daniel failed the people of Ogun State very woefully.

"Gbenga Daniel, after announcing construction of an Airport in the year 2006, the area earmarked for the project remained a tick forest till 2019 when Prince Dapo Abiodun came into the saddle. Daniel’s successor, Ibikunle Amosun based on the nature of his personality and pattern of reasoning did not even open the file of the proposed Airport throughout his eight years in office, the same way Daniel abandoned all the projects left behind by his predecessor, Aremo Olusegun Osoba.

"The recent interview of having the grand or master plan for what Governor Dapo Abiodun has been accomplishing is not only self-ridiculing, it is simply a sheer hallucination of a serial failure and shameful acceptance of failure on the part of Mr. Gbenga Daniel. His interview and comment on Governor Dapo Abiodun reek of deep envy and insensitive lack of modesty," Oladunjoye averred.

The Ogun APC Publicity Secretary further took a swipe on the former Governor, asserting that his ineptitude, deceptive tendency, and maladministration were responsible for his unpopular administration and not bad press as he claimed.

Police operatives in Kano State have arrested one Shafi’u Abubakar, 38, who allegedly set a mosque abl@ze and tr@pped worshipers inside the building at Laraba Abasawa in Gezawa LGA of the state.

It was gathered that about 40 worshippers were praying when Shafi’u used petrol to ignite the fire, tr@pping them inside the mosque by locking the door of the building to prevent them from escaping the inferno.

The att@ck which occurred on Wednesday morning, May 15, left 24 persons with different degrees of b¥rns. The rescued victims were later rushed to the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano, where they were receiving treatment.

According to the statement, “The principal suspect has been identified and arrested, he is Shafi’u Abubakar aged 38 years who said his action was purely in hostility following prolonged family disagreement over sharing of inheritance of which those that he alleged to have ch£ated on him were in the mosque at that moment and he did that for his voice to be heard.”

Aiyepe road is an old road that linked up both Sagamu town in Sagamu Local Government and Aiyepe Ijebu in Odogbolu Local Government. This particular road been referred to as Aiyepe road from Sagamu to Aiyepe Ijebu while Sagamu road from Aiyepe Ijebu to Sagamu.
Aiyepe road is an old road been tarred and well constructed by the then Western Region Government. The traces is still there till date for those that are very familiar with this road.
Aiyepe road is not just an ordinary road because this is a road to Sagamu Local Government Secretariat.
Aiyepe road is also a road to Sakora police station.
Aiyepe road is a road to general cemetery in Sagamu Local Government, this shows that Aiyepe road is among those roads in Sagamu that contributed to the purse of Sagamu Local Government Council.
This is a particular road to IDADO palace, SAKORA palace and LALU palace.
This is a road to both house and a hotel of Late Bashorun Alli Idowu-Adesanya[former chairman of the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC)].
It's a road to late former (ACP) Lamidi Odulawa, retired and also a former Special Adviser on Security to Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel when he was governor of Ogun State.
Former (DIG), Babatunde Peter Ogunyanwo house can't be left out on this particular road too.

Ogun Assembly begs Governor Abiodun to repair bad road

The Ogun Assembly on Tuesday passed a resolution calling on Governor Dapo Abiodun’s government to begin urgent construction on the Kemta-Olokuta-Idi-Aba road through the Abeokuta train station

The lawmakers said the deplorable condition of the road had affected human and vehicular movement along the axis.

They said commuters who depended on the railway as a means of transportation were particularly affected

Adegoke Adeyanju (APC-Yewa North II) moved the motion for the opening of the debate and was seconded by Olakunle Sobukanla (APC-Ikenne) during plenary.

Mr Adeyanju spoke on the deteriorating condition of the road, which connected the Prof. Wole Soyinka Train Station and some 52 communities within the Abeokuta South Local Government Area.

The lawmaker said the road had deteriorated, thereby affecting local connectivity and commercial activities in the area.

Mr Adeyanju said residents and commuters had expressed considerable concerns about the deplorable condition of the road.

He said flooding had worsened the condition of the road, making it largely impassable for vehicles.

According to him, only commercial motorcyclists managed to navigate the stretch of the road.

Other lawmakers who contributed sought the state government’s attention in addressing the road situation.

Some believed that such intervention would revitalise economic activities, enhance safety and improve the overall quality of lives of the residents.

On his part, the speaker, Oludaisi Elemide (APC-Odeda), said it had become imperative for the state government to do something about the plight of road users across the state, especially as the rainy season approached.

He said the road, when fixed, would ease human and vehicular movement

BREAKING: Portable arrested by law enforcement for unpaid G-Wagon installment

On Tuesday, the Lagos State Police Command apprehended the well-known musician, Habeeb Okikiola, commonly referred to as Portable, due to his failure to settle the debt from his acquisition of a G-Wagon from a local car seller in the state.

Portable is alleged to be in possession of a vehicle valued at N27m, having paid only N13m and not yet settled the remaining balance of N14m.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed that Portable has been apprehended.

“Yes, Portable has been arrested. He bought G-Wagon for N27m, paid N13m and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today,”He said
