Bolanle Austen-Peters‘ latest film, “House of Ga’a,” has made a significant impact on Netflix, entering the top 10 rankings across various countries as of July 26, 2024.

Set in the ancient 18th century Yoruba history, “House of Ga’a” tells the gripping tale of a power-hungry political figure, Ga’a, who orchestrates a brutal betrayal within the Oyo Empire. This cultural phenomenon, with its captivating storyline and stellar performances, has resonated deeply with audiences globally.

Nigeria: The film has clinched the number one spot, becoming a major hit with massive viewership and widespread acclaim.
Guadeloupe: Ranking second, the show has captivated audiences with its unique storytelling and cultural relevance.
Kenya and Martinique: Both countries have placed the show in the third position, reflecting its broad appeal across different cultures.

In Dominican Republic it secured the fourth spot, for the Bahamas and Jamaica it ranked fifth. Also in Mauritius it achieved fourth place.
Overall, “House of Ga’a” holds an impressive average ranking of 6 across all listed countries, indicating its strong global presence and consistent viewer engagement.

JUST IN: Nollywood’s latest movie, “What About Us,” which premiered July 12, written and produced by Emmanuel Iren,
has risen to the top of the Nigerian box office, amassing N53.5 million in just 11 days.

The film has maintained the No.1 spot, outperforming Hollywood’s “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” according to data from the Nigerian Box Office.

“What About Us” has recorded 13,000 admissions, representing the total number of tickets sold for screenings.

Initial box office data indicates that “What About Us” grossed N24.6 million in its first three days, reaching N34.7 million by July 18.

"What About Us” adds to the growing success of locally produced Nollywood films, particularly those by first-time producers. For instance, Eniola Ajao’s debut production, “Ajakaju,” recorded N250 million at the Nigerian box office before premiering on Amazon Prime.

Other films currently performing well at the Nigerian box office include “A Quiet Place: Day One,” which has grossed N124 million, and the newly released “Twisters,” which recently achieved a N12 million opening.

This marks an impressive debut for Pastor Iren as an executive producer. The film, directed by Kayode Kasum, features a star-studded cast including Kunle Remi, Uzor Arukwe, Folu Storms, Teniola Aladese, Aeyi Awolowo, Marycolette Unamka, and Atlanta Bridget Johnson.

Comedian and skitmaker Brain Jotter has finally visited the iconic vocalist of the viral ‘Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo’ song, Mike Ejeagha.

Making over 30 Million from that Old Man’s song and giving him just 2 million is bad 🤦‍♂️

Brain Jotter has gained over 30k new followers, made 30 million views on insta and 7 million on Facebook from using Mike Ejeagha’s song . The shocking thing is he gave him just 2 million Naira . That’s really bad . He should be sued .

This is actually how some of your boyfriends and girlfriends think 🤦‍♂️. Imagine saying 2M is small ? This man was in the village struggling and had almost nothing but his life has changed completely because of Brain Jotter . Many people are gifting him money and others paying to sample the song already . This could never be possible without Brain Jotter .

Brain Jotter charges over 7 million to promote a song . He did this for free and still gave the man 2M and some of you are complaining ?
