BONNY/BODO ROAD PROJECT IN SENATE FRONT BURNER:
The Bonny/Bodo Road project was in the front burner at the Senate as the three senators from Rivers State all added their voices to the desirability and importance of the road.
All the senators agreed that the Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola should, within two weeks, come and brief the senate on the factors militating against the continuation of the project.
The chairman of Senate Committee on Works has also been mandated to conduct a thorough investigation into the road project, which the NLNG has promised to provide 50% of its funding.
The Senators from Rivers State - George Thompson Sekibo, Magnus Ngei Abe and Osinachi Udeozu must be commended for rising above party lines to ensure that they sold the motion to the entire Senate.
Hopefully, works will commence on Bonny/Bodo Road Project sooner than later.
FINALLY: JOINT ADMISSION AND MATRICULATION BOARD HAS APPROVED BONNY CENTER.
As part of the Communique reached at the end of the 2014 Bonny National Youth Conference, Enhancing Education for sustainable community Development was paramount in the heart of Simeon Wilcox Lead Executive, and establishing a Jamb center in Bonny was the first step in the right direction.
The purpose of this are, but not limited to the following:
1. Alleviating the cost and effect of traveling outside Bonny to sit for this national examination
2. Encouraging participation of more persons in this examination by eliminating distance.
3. Encouraging Educational and Academics activities for sustainable development in our community.
4. Boosting our economy by attracting visitors during the period of this examination to invest in our economy.
5. Creating employment for our people.
6. Exposing our people to other means of sustenance.
This achievement is mainly credited to God Almighty, whom above all baptized us with a purpose driving spirit till this very moment. Special thanks to our traditional institution, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple and The Bonny Chief Council whom from time immemorial has been principal stakeholders in every meaningful developmental project in Bonny Kingdom, your support came when the youth needed it the most.
