Nigerian Man Sentenced to Four Years in Prison for Defrauding British Airways of N35.6 Million!

The Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos, has convicted and sentenced Idris Bakare to four years imprisonment for defrauding British Airways of N35.6 million. Bakare, along with accomplices, was found guilty of stealing funds belonging to the airline.

According to reports, Bakare, a former contract staff member of Total Plc, conspired with others to invoice aircraft Jet A1 fuel above the actual amount loaded onto British Airways aircraft, resulting in substantial financial loss to the airline.

Despite pleading guilty and expressing remorse, Bakare was handed a one-year imprisonment term on each of the four counts, with an option of a fine. Additionally, he was ordered to pay restitution to British Airways, with a portion of the stolen funds to be refunded over three years.

Justice has been served, sending a strong message against fraudulent practices in the aviation industry. Let's ensure accountability and integrity prevail!

News: Binance Executive's Health at Risk

Mr. Tigran Gambaryan, an executive of Binance Holdings Limited, who is currently standing trial in Nigeria. According to reports, Gambaryan collapsed in a Federal High Court in Abuja and is now seriously ill in Kuje Correctional Centre.

What's Happening:
- Gambaryan, facing a money laundering charge, collapsed in court shortly after trial proceedings began.
- Aluko & Oyebode and Co., his legal representatives, have issued a statement warning that he may die of malaria due to his deteriorating health.
- He was administered IV treatment for malaria in the correctional facility but requires more comprehensive medical attention.
