According to a statement issued by Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, President Tinubu said this when he spoke at a meeting with Indian billionaire, Gopichand Hinduja, chairperson of the Hinduja group of companies in India. The president said he would ensure that bottlenecks are removed and investors thrive in the country. He said his visit to India was focused on attracting investments to Nigeria with lucrative opportunities for investors, but most importantly, jobs for Nigerians and new revenue opportunities for the country. He assured the Indian billionaire businessman of his support in facilitating a smoother ease of doing business. “We are here for business. I am here to personally assure our friends and investors that there is no bottleneck that I will not break. Nigeria will become one of the most conducive places on earth to make good profits and create lasting jobs,” the statement quoted Tinubu as saying. Police Parade 4 Officers For Extorting N6.5m From Residents The Rivers State Police Command has paraded four officers attached to a neighbouring state command for allegedly extorting N6.5 million from about three persons along the East-West Road in the state. The paraded cops arrested the three men in Port Harcourt on July 31, 2023, labeling them “Yahoo boys” and taking them to an undisclosed lo­cation in Delta State, where they were detained and subsequently extorted a huge amount, before releasing them the following day. Speaking at a press briefing at the Command Headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, the Commissioner of Police, Nwo­nyi Emeka, said after receiving the complaint about extortion allegedly committed by the offi­cers, the command swung into action and arrested accused of­ficers as well as detained them pending the conclusion of the investigation. The state police boss also pa­raded another team of officers who allegedly assaulted a female commuter on Sunday during a stop-and-search duty at Arcania junction, Ada George Road, Port Harcourt. The CP said consequent upon his approach to eradicating crim­inality in the state, the four ac­cused officers were arrested and detained pending the outcome of the investigation.
