It has been tough and rough since you left us.
No replacement, and no one close to you.
Today, I remember you as it is exactly 15 years since you departed from this world.

My prayer is that we shall meet again at the feet of Jesus.

Marriage is beautiful… but let’s be honest, it’s not sustained by love alone.

Some couples have plenty of love but struggle because there’s no respect.
Some have money but no peace.
Some communicate daily but still feel emotionally distant.
And some are simply best friends who choose each other every single day.

As my wife and I continue this journey together, one thing I’ve realized is this:

A strong marriage is built intentionally, not accidentally.

Not every day is romantic.
Not every moment is perfect.
There are days of laughter, and there are days of misunderstanding.
Days you feel deeply connected, and days you both need patience and grace.

But through it all, the real question is:

What truly keeps a marriage strong for life?

1. Love ❤️
2. Respect 🤝
3. Communication 🗣️
4. Money 💵
5. Friendship 😊

For me, I’d say COMMUNICATION.
Because when communication is healthy, problems are solved faster, misunderstandings reduce, peace increases, and love grows deeper.

A couple that communicates honestly can survive almost anything together.

The painful truth is this:

Most people don’t support you when you’re struggling…
They support you when they’re convinced you’re succeeding.

When you’re unknown, building quietly, sacrificing sleep, taking risks, and trying to become something greater, many people watch silently.
Some doubt you.
Some ignore you.
Some secretly hope you fail.

But the moment results begin to show, the same people suddenly notice you.

That’s life.

A lot of us have experienced this in different ways.
Some people only call when they need something.
Some disappear during hard seasons but return during successful moments.
And sometimes the people you expected to believe in you the most become the most distant.

But honestly, this journey taught me something important:

Not everyone is assigned to understand your process.

Some people only believe in evidence.
They don’t respect the seed - they respect the harvest.

And that’s why you must keep going even when support is low, applause is absent, and progress feels slow.

Because one day, the same journey people ignored will become the story they admire.

Real growth often happens in silence before it becomes visible.

Receiving messages like this fills my heart with deep joy and gratitude. Truly, every positive impact we make will eventually bear fruit, nothing goes unnoticed, and there is always a reward.

This is one of the students I had the privilege of teaching during my NYSC service at Adventist Secondary School, Lagere, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. Seeing their growth and success is incredibly fulfilling.
