It has come to our notice that some individuals have begun comparing Chief Sunday Igboho with Iba Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland. This comparison is not only disrespectful but also misleading and baseless.
Let it be clearly stated: Iba Gani Adams is a leader of structure, vision, and strategy. Since emerging as the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, he has demonstrated wisdom, diplomacy, and commitment to the unity and progress of the Yoruba people, building a strong global network with millions of loyal members both at home and in the diaspora. His leadership has brought international recognition and respect to the Yoruba land.
On the other hand, Sunday is known for noise and emotional outbursts without concrete strategy. Exposing sensitive matters and revealing the internal plans of the Yoruba struggle to the public and to perceived enemies shows a lack of wisdom and discipline. Leadership goes beyond shouting slogans,it requires intellect, tact, and understanding of consequences.
Those who continue to compare both men should be reminded that the era of the Old Oyo Empire is gone. In this modern system, Aare Ona Kakanfo cannot act outside constitutional authority. Matters of security are under the jurisdiction of the President, the Inspector-General of Police, the Chief of Army Staff, and the state governors. Aare Gani Adams operates within the law and works in partnership with government structures for peace and stability, not lawlessness.
We therefore warn the people to desist from making such reckless comparisons. It is time to recognize and respect authentic leadership built on structure, intelligence, and sacrifice, not empty noise and confusion.
