MAKING SALES!
By Nweke Martin Chizurum (CHIZIDIGITAL)
Making sales is one very important aspect of every business. Business is simply getting rewards for values; these values can be either goods or services. A business can either exist offline or Online.
Let's take the first case.
OFFLINE BUSINESS
These are businesses that exist in the physical space. The very first step of every successful business is the acquisition of knowledge and experience. This equips one with all the required tactics to run the business profitably.
Let's look into the case of Mama Emeka my neighbor, she has just finished learning a provision sales business and is set to set up her own shop.
She opened a shop on her balcony and displayed a roll of tissue paper. Business is set, and she has kept a big basket to receive wads of cash from a crowd of customers just like her madam does. After a week, she went back to her boss to complain "I'VE LEARNT THIS BUSINESS FOR THREE MONTHS AND HAVEN'T MADE ANY SALES. BUT YOU TOLD ME THAT AFTER LEARNING THE BUSINESS I WILL MAKE SALES"!!
We still d settle their matter.
Now let me bring you to the online world. Here, it's all about digital products and services. It is not in any way different from what happens in the physical space. The same factors affecting sales in the physical space would certainly affect those online.
You MUST assume a buyer! As a buyer, you already know what items entice you the most, you know what items would solve your pressing problems, then go ahead to create them and they'll automatically sell.
Enter the marketplaces (websites, e-stores, etc) find out items in high demand, then simply create such items (modeling).
When ice cream sellers take advantage of hot sunny days by standing on the roadside, they MUST naturally make sales without going to radio stations to advertise.
Digital contents are completely the same way. Once you've made your content visible, make it attractive, and your product is relevant... You do not need a magician to let you know that you MUST make sales.
On a more important note, every business (online/ offline) matures. You get noticed, get customers, monitor what content your customers enjoy the most, then create more of them, then you keep growing. This may not happen the next day after learning.
As an Amazon KDP expert, I'm proud to have produced students whose results are absolutely mind-blowing. Then I have also met those who are less interested in whatever processes are involved but just want to earn the very figures I make, after a week of hurriedly completing the course.
Sales are dependent on
π VISIBILITY: You can make yourself visible by free techniques like using smart keywords, creating beautiful covers, and placing your content in the perfect categories.
You can as well utilize the paid options by running ads.
π RELEVANCE: The economy of Nigeria is currently in a mess. Any discussion concerning the way out, how we got here, forecasts on the Nigerian Economy, there's no magic about it that people are willing to partake in such a discussion.
America is currently experiencing how climatic conditions and heat waves. Any discussion about the ways out or cure to ailments caused by the hot weather is no doubt a hot gist, just as an instance.
π KNOWING YOUR CUSTOMERS: Going to the North to sell clothes mainly used by Easterners, how much patronage do I expect?
A marketplace like Amazon is USA based. Creating content about how to marry in Yoruba land, of course, you know what to expect.
Put these into consideration for better sales experiences.
