The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has banned alcoholic beverages produced in sachets less than 200ml. Disclosing this to newsmen, the director-general of NAFDAC, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, said the five-year window given to the manufacturers of the products to stop producing the drinks in sachets and pet bottles which began in 2028 elapsed on January 31, 2024. She said enforcement of the ban commenced on February 1, 2024.

According to her, the agency took the decision to ban the production of the drinks in such sachets because of the negative effects on underage children. She said because the drinks come in pocket-friendly sizes, accessible and affordable, children easily fell for the packages only to face the consequences in the future.

“This decision was based on the recommendation of a high-powered committee of the Federal Ministry of Health and NAFDAC on one hand, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), and the Industry represented by the Association of Food, Beverages and To***co Employers (AFBTE), Distillers and Blenders Association of Nigeria (DIBAN), in December 2018.

As a commitment to the decision reached at the end of this Committee meeting, producers of alcohol in sachets and small volume agreed to reduce the production by 5 percent with effect from 31st January 2022 while ensuring the product is completely phased out in the country by 31st January 2024”.

Good morning need help

Please Sir I am really in need of help and Job,I'm married with 3kids my husband is addicted to bet to the extent of owing big amount of money since 2020 he started this habit he has never brought in any new thing in the house rather he's busy selling off the little property we have the debt he was owning here and there where up to 205k my father in-law help in paying part of it I've been managing my little teaching job of 17k till I lost the job last year because I was having accommodation issue we have been owing since Feb 2022 since I do take loan to pay the rent then I've been managing my father in-law that normal help us is very sick lm really frustrated right now as I'm falling into depression I shout at my children at any little thing as if the are the cause of there problem throughout last night I couldn't sleep because I was crying and calling on God for help and change since yesterday we had nothing to eat I had to take my children to one uninvited child dedication in the next street when I was coming back from where I went to borrow money from someone yet they served us two plates of rice which we managed this I don't know what the morning will be no kero no gas my kids have been bathing cold water even in this cold weather my son has seriously cold and cough I just got him septrin N50 I feel like leaving them and running away I'm confused right now,All i need now is a job I can work as nanny, a cook or house cleaner i can take care of children as long as it's with accommodation no matter the location so as to take care of my kids Did I mentioned he normally leaves us for months weeks,days as it pleases him I need changing of location a lot of things On Friday someone knocked and introduced himself as a Bet Bonanza Agent that my husband is owing him 76k since November and that was the last time he came home he doesn't answer me calls or his father's call or anyone that wants to tell him about his family

Person take loan of $200K ) last year from America to do real estate business in Nigeria. The land was purchased by money she and her husband sent in 2013 about ($131,500).

He built the properties and put them up for sale for ($300K). Customer never come buy.

They have potential of making Nigerian profit, but they will pay the loan knowing they have lost money.

If you are abroad, except if you do not have the right papers, invest in that abroad or find a stable place to invest, especially when it is not a leisure house like village house and do not take any loan to put in an economy that will burn it.

While I encourage patriotism, save your head before sacrificing your life.

The Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria (SCSN) has said that the APC Muslim-Muslim ticket it supported during the 2023 presidential election has fallen short of expectations and has not brought any positive changes to the lives of Nigerians.

The President of SCSN, Sheikh AbdurRasheed Hadiyyatullah, said this in an interview with journalists during a National Conference which held in Abuja. The Islamic cleric said despite the enormous support received by the President during the election, Nigerians have not enjoyed dividends of democracy since he came to power.

“The Nigeria of today is too bad. What we are buying at N200 before is N2000 now. We have scarcity of Naira and unemployment is escalating. Nigerians are not enjoying the new government at all. I don’t want to go personal but the Sharia Council helped the Muslim-Muslim ticket to be successful. We campaigned and supported this government until it came to power, but we are suffering.

Some of the Ministers are siphoning and looting the treasury. I don’t want to mention any name but we have all seen and read it. Nigerians have been suffering since the last seven months when this government came to power.

We are not making any progress. The reason for the Muslim-Muslim ticket was to progress, triumph, succeed and to have a good government but we didn’t have anything.”

Speaking further, he said;

“See how Nigerians are suffering. No money. No progress. We have not enjoyed anything since seven months of this government. We are sympathetic with this government but the way forward is for some of these Ministers to go home and rest and we will find other people who will be honest with themselves and the country, those who are there to work not to loot the country.''

President Tinubu who was the presidential candidate of the ruling APC, adopted the Muslim-Muslim ticket when he picked Kashim Shettima as his running mate, despite national outcry, especially from Christian faithfuls.

I no go lie.

I dated one popular Twitter feminist in 2017.

She was more popular than me then. She would be posting about how she would never cook for man and I would be in her DMs laughing at her and telling her in a playful manner that she will cook for me.

The play eventually paid off and she cooked one jollof rice for me when I went to visit.

Bruhhh. As I took the first and second spoon, I jumped up and requested that she puts it in a flask for takeaway for me.

For her mind, the food was too sweet and I wanted to savour the experience at home. She no know say na disaster she cook.

It was so bad that I took it home and gave the food to my neighbor’s dog, Bruno. The poor Bruno squandered everything out of hunger and fell sick the next day. Na vet save the poor dog life.
