The Femi Oyetola that I know, by Kola Salami
I recently came across a publication attempting to tarnish the reputation of Femi Oyetola, the son of the ever-reserved and cerebral former Governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, H.E Adegboyega Oyetola. In response to these allegations, it's crucial to provide context and perspective regarding Femi Oyetola's character and contributions.
Femi Oyetola is not only an accomplished young man but also a dedicated advocate for youth development and a staunch supporter of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu's vision for Nigeria. Growing up in a household of principled leadership and dedication to good governance, Femi witnessed firsthand the financial ingenuity and spartan approach to resource management exhibited by his father during his tenure as Governor of Osun State. Under H.E Adegboyega Oyetola's leadership, Osun witnessed a comprehensive period of prudent financial management, stabilizing the state despite lean resources.
In his personal endeavors, Femi has been actively involved in youth development initiatives, prioritizing education, skills development, and entrepreneurship. His passion for empowering young people aligns perfectly with the ethos of his father's administration. During key electoral periods, Femi tirelessly campaigned alongside other young stakeholders, including Seyi Tinubu, son of the President, demonstrating his commitment to advancing the interests of the people despite facing challenges from opposing factions.
Moreover, Femi has earned the admiration and respect of leaders within and beyond Osun State, including former Honourable Commissioner and current CEO of Nigeria Waterways, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji. Despite his selfless attributes, Femi remains steadfast in his principles, shunning sycophancy and indolence, and striving for excellence in all endeavors.
While unfounded allegations may arise, regardless of how baseless and unfounded they are, it's essential to view Femi Oyetola's actions within the context of his character and ideals. His contributions to society reflect a commitment to service, integrity, and excellence, in line with the values that have guided the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu Political Dynasty. Femi's engagement underscores the importance of nurturing leadership and innovation among the youth to drive sustainable progress, and he deserves to be commended and encouraged for his efforts.
