New Year Prayer Programme: Oyinlola, Clerics, Workers, Others Endorse Governor Adeleke for Second Term

● I Won't Abandon God and the People -Gov Adeleke

OSOGBO - 02/01/2025 - Osunstate.gov.ng

It was a galore of mass endorsement for the second term of office for Governor Ademola Adeleke and adoration of God at the 2025 annual inter-religious prayer held today at the Government Secretariat.

The event, attended by top religious leaders, leading traditional rulers and workers of the Osun state government witnessed several cycles of prayers for the Governor, his team and the entire state for delivery of good governance beyond 2026 to 2030.

One after the other, leading Muslim and Islamic leaders rolled out the many good things happening to Osun state under Governor Adeleke and followed it up with fervent prayers to God for continuity of Adeleke governorship beyond 2026.

The President of the League of Imams and Alfas in Osun state, Sheikh Musa Animasahun who led other religious leaders declared that the good delivery of services by Governor Adeleke has ordained him by God for second term, urging mass support for continuation of better life in Osun state.

The workers union led by the state Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Christopher Abimbola Arapasopo openly endorsed the Governor for second term amidst singing and dancing, citing his expensive attention to the needs of workers and pensioners.

The market women and men in the state led by the Iyaloja General of Osun state, Chief Oyebode Mary in her prayers for the state conveyed the endorsement of the Governor for second term, listing ease of doing business among other achievements.

The former Governor of Osun state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola in his remarks prayed to God to continue to strengthen the Governor in his ongoing good performance, drumming support for the administration.

The Okuku Prince repeated his earlier endorsement of the Governor while featuring on a Rave FM interview, telling the audience at the prayer session that “nobody changes a medication and medicine that is working.

“Mr Governor’s medicine is working for Osun people. And so he will continue for a second term”, the former Governor noted in Yoruba language.

The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi while rounding up the prayer session conducted a special prayer of empowerment and approval of all the individual prayers by the clerics, workers and others, seeking divine protection and enablement for the Governor and his team.

According to the head of Yoruba Obas worldwide, the performance of the Governor is his best prayer, appreciating the Governor’s dedication to duty and his listening and consultative approach to state governance.

“Only a clean heart dances. Where they dance, good things happen. Great things are happening to Osun and we are all rejoicing”, the Onirisa declared.

Governor Adeleke in his address to the audience pleaded never to abandon the path of God and the interest of the people, stressing that “our prayers were answered fully by Almighty God as at every moment of the way, our government puts God and the people as a point of take off and return.

“At the centre of state power is God and His divine will. That reality explains my consistent praise worship in private and public functions. Our dear God has blessed us in the last one year. We recorded a superlative performance which even our opponents cannot deny. There is the evident hand of God in state decisions. In critical situations, the divine guides us to the right choice.

“I therefore expressed the deep appreciation of our government to clerics and men of God at home and here with us. You are the agents of God in our midst. Since I assumed office, I can attest and assert that it has been God all the way.

“I stand before you today to declare that we will not abandon the path of God. We will continue to serve the people diligently and faithfully. Genuine service to the people is to us a strong way to worship God. We will continue to pursue pro- people policies and programmes. We will not abuse state power. Rather we will deploy instruments of state to develop the people and our dear state.

“I call on our religious and traditional rulers to be my agents among the people. Let the message go to the grassroots that this government is ever dedicated to serving the people. We will continue to work for the people and by the people.

“In 2025 and beyond, we will not be found wanting in service delivery. The state care for the young, the old, women, youth and children will continue on a strong note. I repeat again that soft infrastructure will top the state agenda alongside ongoing hard infrastructure upgrades across the state.

“We call on leaders of thought to rally round the administration in our efforts to enthrone good governance. This call flows from what all stakeholders can attest to. We have shown good faith as a government acting beyond partisan considerations. The best interest of Osun has continued to be our guiding principle. We need all hands to be on deck.

“I charge us all not to relent in prayers for successful state governance. On our part, we promise to continue to uphold basic tenets of democracy, due process and fear of God”, the Governor noted, declaring “as we have prayed, I know our good Lord has answered our prayers”

IWO DAY 2024: GOVERNOR ADELEKE ROLLS OUT DEVELOPMENT AGENDA FOR IWO

• REAFFIRMS OLUWO AS PRESIDENT, IWO COUNCIL OF TRADITIONAL RULERS

IWO- 21/12/2024- osunstate.gov.ng

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has listed the projects his administration intends to embark upon in Iwo as part of the development agenda for the state.

The Governor noted that his administration has approved a dual carriage way for Iwo, which is the dualisation of Adeeke -Odori road to be done in two phases, while the first phase will run from Odoori to the Post Office with a branching to the front of the palace from the Roundabout, the second phase will run from the Post Office to Adeeke junction.

He noted further that, in the second phase of his administration intervention in the health Sector, the Iwo General Hospital will be rehabilitated adding that the rehabilitation of Iwo Water Works is currently ongoing.

Speaking at Iwo Day 2024 at the Oluwo Stadium in Iwo, Osun State, the Governor who was represented by his Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed reaffirmed the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi as the President of Iwo Council of Traditional Rulers.

"In line with our commitment to equity and fairness, our administration has approved a dual carriage way for Iwo. The dualisation of Adeke -Odori road will be done in two phases. The first phase will run from Odoori to the Post Office with a branching to the front of the palace from the Roundabout. The second phase will run from the Post Office to Adeeke junction.

"I hereby direct the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to host community engagement events with stakeholders on the proposed highway. Additionally, the Ministry is further directed to mobilise to site from January to commence the dualisation project.

"Kabiyesi, other dignitaries, I am full of joy to inform you that the dualised freeway will have full solar light from Odoori to Adeeke.

"We will deliver all these under record time with direct emphasis on local content. We will ensure we use local personnel, local suppliers and local engineers. Our goal is to deepen prosperity by ensuring that Osun money circulates within Osun.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Iwo also stands to benefit from the recently launched Imole Agropreneur Project. The project targets a Public Private Partnership arrangement to raise a new generation of Agropreneurs to be supported by the government. The project launched at Imesi Ile recently expects each community to provide farm lands with the government providing farm input, farmland preparation, extension services and offtaking opportunities.

"To this end, I direct the Ministry of Agriculture to liaise with the director of agriculture in each local government as well as the traditional rulers to secure land and register potential agropreneurs. Kabiyesi, this is a project deeply beneficial to our communities.

"Ladies and gentlemen, our administration has rehabilitated 200 out of 400 primary health centres. For 2025, we are expanding our remodeling hand to the general hospitals. I want to assure this audience that in 2025, Iwo General Hospital will get its due attention.

"To our traditional rulers, I appeal for peace, unity and developmental collaboration. I have deep respect for our traditional rulers at all levels. I cherish Yoruba's rich tradition and traditional rulership heritage. I will do all within my powers to promote and develop our traditional Institutions.

"It was in pursuit of that goal that I reaffirm the law that Oluwo of Iwoland is and remains the President of Iwo Council of Traditional Rulers. I urge Kabiyesi to continue to exercise his vested powers with all sense of accommodation. I stand by that reaffirmation because that is what the law and tradition say. I won't support historical revisionism.

"I urge our traditional rulers to unite and join hands with our administration to develop the State. I am in a hurry to take Osun to the promised land of advanced infrastructure, commendable high human development index, well developed agro industrial society and a community of shared prosperity", the Governor noted.

Speaking on the projects already executed in Iwo by his administration, Governor Adeleke noted that over 30 community projects which include several primary health care centres and rural roads has been fixed adding that Iwo has the highest number of community development projects across the local governments and area councils.

"For Iwo town, we are currently constructing several roads and bridges. You all can testify to such road projects. We have reconstructed the collapsed Adeeke Bridge. Under my direction, your son who is a technocrat in charge of highways is ensuring that Iwo got her fair share of road project allocation.

"The Gbongan-Iwo - Oyo road has received attention after my visit to the Minister of Works. Again, your son, our Senator for Osun West is following up. We must break the jinx on that long delayed project.

"We have executed over 30 community projects which include several primary health care centres and rural roads. Iwo has the highest number of community development projects across the local governments and area councils. Your son, who is in charge of the community development project agency is doing well.

"We are rehabilitating Iwo water works from the equipment refurbishing to relaying of pipes after several decades of neglect. This project is ongoing. Again, your son who is the Commissioner for Water Resources is putting all attention to the ongoing water works rehabilitation across the state including Iwo.

"Under my direction, I am happy to report that your son has secured the intervention of the Federal Government for the Iwo Water Works in the 2025 budget.

"On Iwo- Osogbo roads, all the impediments delaying early completion are now cleared. A fast tracked implementation plan is now in place. The contractor who is your own son will mobilise fully to site from January 2025.

"I want to assure you that our government will complete and commission that road within the lifespan of this administration", the Governor added.

Governor Adeleke Launches Imole Agropreneur Project, Targets Cultivation of 31,000 hectares of Land

● Governor Named Kiriji Icon of Yorubaland

IMESI ILE-10/12/2024 - Osunstate.gov.ng

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state today launched the Imole Agropreneur Project, targeting 31, 000 hectares of land for cultivation across the 30 local governments and the area council.

The launching held at Imesi Ile, Obokun local government of the state and witnessed by community leaders and top government officials from Ijesa North federal constituency saw the unveiling of the project designed to empower farmers, ensure food security and create wealth among young and old farmers.

The Governor who recently purchased tractors for the state agro-mechanisation project after 12 years, described the agropreneur initiative as a testament to the realisation of one of the key objectives of the administration, declaring “we are here to launch the Statewide Imole Agropreneur Model Project which will be replicated across all local governments in the state.

Describing the project as holistic and comprehensive, the Governor said the programme is not merely providing materials or tools, it will ensure that beneficiaries receive training, skills development and mentoring”, adding that “This dual strategy of empowerment and capacity building will equip our youth and women to maximize the resources provided to achieve long-term impact.

The Governor spoke further on the details of the project:

“Each Local Government Area is to allocate a minimum of 1,000 hectares of land for mechanised farming and local empowerment initiatives. We are providing extension services, technical support, and other essential resources to ensure the beneficiaries' success.

“The programme also includes an off taking programme. A strong linkage is to be established between the agropreneurs and off takers of farm produce. This strategy will strengthen financial returns and sustainability of the model.

“This programme has a strong public - private partnership content. Each local community is a partner with the government in the operations of this initiative. This is to ensure communal ownership.

“Additionally, this initiative is to create a starting point for micro agro - processing platforms with a target on export markets. It is our expectation that the agropreneur project will produce a new team of modern farmers with an eye on both local and international markets”, the Governor told the cheering crowd.

The Governor tasked the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to monitor the progress of this initiative by offering continuous technical assistance to participants, warning that oversight is not the same as direct running of the project.

The Governor spoke further: “It is imperative for all stakeholders to treat this initiative as a serious business. The entire package has a strong business model. We cannot run it like a bureaucratic project. It won't work.

“The oversight from the Ministry should not be construed as the ministry running the Agropreneur project. That is not the conception. That is the reason why I am further directing that a PPP management model be established in each local government for the operations of the project”, the Governor admonished the stakeholders.

Speaking earlier, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon Tola Fasheru described the Governor's records in the agricultural sector as impressive, noting that the administration has positively changed the narrative of the state agricultural sector.

“Mr Governor has launched a solid foundation for agro-mechanisation on one hand and agro-prosperity on the other hand. 2025 promises to be a super - productive year for Osun farmers after the successes of this current year”, Faseru posited.

The Owaooye of Imesi Ile, Oba Enoch Ademola and his chiefs had earlier declared Governor Adeleke as the Kiriji Icon of Yorubaland in recognition of his immense contribution to state development within the last two years.

The recognition was conferred on the Governor at the palace of the Owaooye when the Governor paid a courtesy visit to the royal father.
