CODE SWITCHING
----------------------------

Code switching is a style in broadcast presentation where the presenter switches from one language to another in a conversation.

The presenter does this with so much finesse that he/she sounds so witty and poetic seamlessly. His/her communication is clear even as the lines rhyme.

This switch between 2 or more languages is done clinically without impeding the grammatical varieties and laws of all the languages involved. In other words, the presenter does not go about corrupting any of the languages especially because of poor knowledge of the languages or simply intellectual laziness.

Going on air unending speaking in a corrupted language is an aberration or do I say an abomination in radio/tv presentation. A sacrilege. An example of this is ENGLI-IGBO.

You don't go on air with ENGLI-IGBO as if it doesn't matter. Rather you can employ code switching skills. In broadcasting, talk is an art. For you to be a broadcaster, you must be a master artist.

My dear friend, do you want to be a master artist? Do you want to learn code switching in practical terms? You can reach out to me.

The Awka warrior wearing his OKPU AGHA. A very powerful fibre crash helmet made from cocoyam leaves. The helmet cannot be broken by machete. May also not be pierced by single bullets.

This is one of the technologies of old from the Igbo people. Our ancestors were really thinking. Our ancestors were truly innovative. Whoever told you that our ancestors were primitive? Who?

But today, the same cannot be said of our generation. We produce nothing. We largely depend on the rest of the world. How did that happen?

Immediately Europeans invaded our land and attacked our spirituality and imposed their own religion on us, we lost ourselves. From thence, we lost who we are. It's rather unfortunate.

TO REMIND YOU THAT YOUR ANCESTORS INVENTED AEROPLANE ✈️.

From
================

HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU LEARNT THAT IT WAS YOUR ANCESTORS THAT INVENTED THE FIRST AEROPLANE OF MODERN DAY?

I am sure this face even though it's in a black and white is obviously that of a BlackMan who looks exactly 💯 like a person who is from my race and ethnicity undoubtedly but that's not the story behind this post.

This happens to be the BlackMan who got the first patent for a flying Object of what is now called: Aeroplane ✈️ atleast 3 years before Orville and Wilbur Wright got their patent for the same category of flying Objects.

Story behind his inventions was hijacked and erased from history so that the BlackMan will never know that modern day flying Objects was invented by his brother of same colour and race and all the credits given to the "Wright Brothers" as the inventors of modern Aeroplanes ✈️.

Now know this and Know peace ✌️this uncle who looks just like you and I did it first and his Sl@ve name was: CHARLES FREDERICK PAGE.

He is the FATHER OF MODERN DAY AEROPLANES and not the Wright Brothers as your History told you.

His Patent No. Is "US817442A" in case of doubters.

Whomever got the first patent predates the other and he got his patent 3 years ahead of the Wright Brothers.

HOW MANY MORE OF THIS NATURE OF HISTORY HAD BEEN DISTORTED IN SCHOOL CURRICULUM?

Black people, uphold your faces and redeem thy lost glory. The study of our ancestors makes us proud 👏 of our inate abilities.

May we not loose 🙏🏿 ourselves in search of ourselves.

NOW PERMIT ME TO BAPTISE HIM WITH AN INDIGENOUS AFRICAN NAME OF THE IGBO ORIGIN: OKWA-NKA NWANKWO EGBUNIWE (MAYBE HE WAS FROM NANDO🤣🤣)

What is music without groove? One good reason why African music is the best. Baba Fela, come tell them more.

"Fela would say for music to be tight, the groove must be tight. I was amazed when I first saw the band play one groove for about ninety minutes during one of his rehearsals. They were begging Fela to stop and Fela said, "E never tight yet. Play di groove mehn."

When the Chinese decided to live in peace, they built the great Wall of China. They thought that no one could climb it because of its height...

However, in the 100 years after its construction, the Chinese were invaded 3 times more.

Enemy infantry soldiers never had the need to climb or pe*****te the wall.

Because they always bribed the guards and got in through the gates.

The Chinese had built high and thick walls; But they couldn't build the characters of the wall guards.

As a result, building human character is different and important...

It precedes the construction of everything else.

This is what the new generation needs today.

As an orientalist said; “If you want to destroy the civilization of a nation, there are three ways;

* Destroy the family structure.

* Destroy the education system.

* Belittle and demean their role models and references.”

To destroy the family; Belittle and degrade motherhood.

To destroy the education system; Do not give importance to educators and teachers and lower their reputation in society so that their students will despise and belittle them.

Belittle the reputation of role models.

Work insidiously to destroy scholars and scientists, so that they are suspected and no one listens to them or follows them...

When the conscious mother is lost, dedicated teachers are lost and role models are discredited

Who will teach HUMAN VALUES to young people... ??

Have you about Ahebi Ụgbabe? - the first and the only woman warrant chief in Igboland throughout the colonial era.

She was actually the first female chief in northern Igboland (that is the general areas of the hills and valleys of Udi and Nsukka).

A LETTER TO MY COMPATRIOTS

I am Igbo. Go to Onitsha. Go to Aba. Go to Alaba. Go to Kano and see wealthy men who brag with how many millionaires they had minted in the course of their lives more than how many millions they personally had. Millionaires who sold the same things Competing with their former masters, taking on more competitors who will create more competitors over and over.

Does it destroy the master? No! This is a mastery over greed that is not found elsewhere in the entire world. I am Igbo. And I am fckn proud of this!

My ancestors were the ones who, in 1803, walked into the Atlantic rather than be slaves. That legendary spirit is mine to claim.

Every Igbo man has a personal guardian angel - Chi. My success is determined by how much I want it. Not by obstacles. Not by what people call impossible. Not by how rich or poor my father was. Not by avoiding danger. But by a simple agreement between me and my Chi.
“Onye kwe, chi ya e kwe”. If you believe, your chi affirms.
I am Igbo, I was raised this way.

We create success and share it without begrudging our neighbours and our hosts. We will teach our host’s children our way of life if they would rise above their suspicions. We don’t mind a Yoruba or Hausa or Edo nwa bọị. We only ask that the person be smart and dependable.

We are not particular about kings or queens. We don’t want to be your king. We don’t do very well with them. Before the whiteman we barely had any kings. A child who came of age had the right to speak in a village meeting when it was his turn. No one could stop them.

The community came together to build houses for each other. People who were struggling were supported and those who had lost children or had none were lent children for their farms.

When my ancestors saw that literacy was good, they contributed to send the village's brightest to school. Even people whose own children were olodo happily contributed for other people’s children. You know why? We believed that a child belonged to everyone.

In those days we had leaders who were chosen purely on what they could do. Nothing was hereditary. Even the chief priest was chosen by the spirits from kindred to kindred, without a set pattern.
Basically, we don’t want to rule in your land. We want to build wealth.

Again we’re happy to share. We will build schools, hospitals, markets without a single prejudice. Everyone is welcome. And, no, we don’t only go to already-made cities. We particularly love to do virgin lands and make decent towns out of them.

I am sure there are many things for which you can be proud about your ancestors. I know a few, because I try to educate myself. I will celebrate them with you. Your art & culture - ancient & modern. The warrior spirit of your ancestors. Their industry. I celebrate them all.

I dare suggest that if other Nigerian ethnicities who prefer political power understood Igbos, they would rule forever and Igbos wouldn’t mind. Any Igbo will tell you: Provide a level playing field, promote law and order and Igbo’s will largely ignore politics.

Let me reiterate. We don’t do well with kings and queens. Respect is earned not inherited. That’s how we see it. We only hate injustice with a terrible passion. How do you think the boy-boy system is sustained? If you don’t “settle” your boy, or skimp on how much, nobody will beat you, but you won’t be able to live down the shame. You will forever be known as the riffraff that doesn’t “settle” his boys. Just like that, your respect is gone. When a child who has “washed” his hands is chosen over you, your pariah status is sealed.

You may resist and ask, “What about Igbo governors? How come they do Ndị Igbo dirty and get away with it?”
The answer is simple. No one chose them. They’re imposed with guns every election cycle. They are vassals of Abuja. Abia State is your example as to what happens when our will prevails in the choice of public office.

Free and fair elections and none of these clowns will smell that seat. If not for the guns, even a small child will walk up to them and tell them that they’re full of sh*t.

Ideally everyone can speak. From the drunk to the village mad man. You’re allowed to laugh at their craze but you’re not allowed to silence them. “Mbanụ. Ị bụ Chi ya?” Are you his chi? They commune with the spirits. So once in a while they say things that save the community.

But a Peter Obi can live in Onitsha and walk into the market with little or no es**rt. Why? He embodies the best of us. His attitude is what our forebears built over thousands of years. Industry without excessive greed. A peaceful man with grit and a truckload of bravery. Someone who pursues justice for all and uses public money for public good.

I am Igbo and I am happy to emulate the best of you. If it is a thing of value we will adopt it and we expect that as we are willing to share, you will extend us the same hand. But even if you decided not to teach us...

September 18
We remember our fallen Heroes!

On this day 29 years ago, at exactly 7:45 am, the dark clouds gathered, a "Big Bang " a moment of confusion, shouts, screams and people moaning in pains.

That was how the saddest day in the history of Heartland came calling. Today a fire brigade alarm is expected to sound at 7:45 am to mark the events of that tragic day of sorrow and pains in a symbolic gesture of paying tribute to the five victims of the Oriental Airline that crashed into a fire brigade building at the Agenat Airport Tamanrasset Algeria.
The ill-fated flight of September 18, 1994 had players and officials of the then Iwuanyanwu Nationale (now Heartland of Owerri) who were in a quest for continental honours.
A year before, the Zambian National team perished in similar circumstance but the case of the Iwuanyanwu Nationale players was different as many miraculously survived the crash.

Sports historians believe that the sad event of 18th September became the eighth notable football squad to have been involved in an air disaster.

Going down Memory Lane, of Air Mishaps involving Football teams will definitely exhume the memories of crashes involving the Zambian national team in 1993, Peruvian champions, Alianza Lima in 1988, Soviet’s Pakhtakor Tashkent club in 1979, the Strongest FC of Bolivia in 1969, Chile’s Green Cross in 1961, England’s Manchester United in 1958 and Italy’s Torino in 1949 came flooding back.

The Nigerian champions, Iwuanyanwu Nationale were returning from Tunisia where they had lost 3-0 to Esperance in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the African Cup of Champions (now CAF Champions League). Defeated and deflated, the 35 players, officials and journalists were obviously in low spirit. Beyond the defeat and the thought of the herculean task ahead, the contingent had to contend with a three-hour delay at the Tunis Airport.

When the chartered BAC 1-11 of the Oriental Airlines, owned by the club proprietor, Chief Emmanuel Iw...
