Me: Yes I know and the results have been released too.

Landlady: Can you believe Sodiki scored 378 but because he was owing MTN 200 naira they deducted his mark to 178.

Me: MTN deducted his mark keee........ Sodiki told you that right?

Landlady: Yesss

Me: Hmmmmm so what are you going to do now?

Landlady: That's why I came to meet you.

Me: There's nothing we can do oooo

Landlady: Please there should be a solution. I will pay

Me: Ehhh ehhh you will pay. Actually there's a solution but it's cost ooo

Landlady: Ewuuuu like how much

Me: Just N20500

Landlady: Haaa that's much nah

Me: It's not much oooo and in fact he was lucky, had it been it's palmpay he was owing ni they will have deducted 300 from his mark.

Landlady: Haaa why?

Me: That's Thier policy oo.

Landlady: If he nah scored 278 nko.

Me: They will deduct everything and he's resitting for JAMB next year they will deduct the rest from it

Landlady: Thank God he's not owing palmpay. Where should I make the payment.

Me: To my account number of course because you are even lucky I'm going to Abuja tomorrow.

Landlady: Okay I will send it now

Me: Add transport fare ooooooo

On hearing this, his neighbours rushed out,

So three days ago, my neighbor knocked on my door. When I opened he asked if I can help him with a little salt. I told him no problem and went in to bring him my bottle of salt. He poured a little into his hands and thanked me.

Minutes later he knocked again.

He asked if I had Maggi cubes. Like two or three. I told him I did. And so I went inside the house and brought him ten cubes and gave them to him.

It was the first time he was asking me such since we became neighbors.

Twenty minutes later, I heard another knock.

I opened the door.

It was still him.

I was surprised.

He saw the shocked look on my face and said to me.

"Abeg sorry I am disturbing you like this. I was expecting they will pay me before this election period so I can buy food and keep at home. But they didn't. They have chosen for us to go home and starve. I know I am disturbing you o, but it took courage for me to come and ask you this last one. Can you help me with palm oil? Just small. I am cooking my last three cups of beans. Since it is the last, make e sweet me small."

I told him it was fine and so I went inside and brought him my bottle of oil and handed it to him.

He thanked me and left.

For two days I waited to see my neighbor but he didn't step out. No one cared to ask too. So yesterday, I went to his door and knocked. He opened. He looked like one who was sleeping.

I asked if he was fine and he said yes. He told me since he hasn't eaten, no strength to go out. I asked him when he will resume work and he said he will be resuming next week.

We talked and laughed. I gave him part of the bread I ate that morning and we talked while he ate.

This evening I was moved to buy a few foodstuffs for him from the shop. I took it to him and knocked on his door.

When I told him the foodstuffs were his, he shouted Jesus and kept looking at me.

I chuckled.

He didn't expect it.

But it came.

He stepped out an hour ago with a knife, whistling happily. Went to the well to fetch water and walked back inside.

My oga is cooking spaghetti this evening I suppose.

When you are the reason someone is happy, you feel happy as well. Don't only motivate, support your motivation with physical provisions.

One cold night a billionaire met an old poor man outside. He asked him, "don't you feel cold being outside, and not wearing any coat?"

The billionaire entered his house and got busy there and forgot the poor man. In the morning he remembered that poor old man and he went out to search for him but he found him dead because of cold, but he left a NOTE,

"When I didn't have any warm clothes, I had the power to fight the cold because I was used to that. But when you promised me to help me, I got attached to your promise and that took my power of resisting.

MORAL: Don't promise anything if you can't keep your promise.

It might not mean anything to you, But it could mean everything to someone else.
