MERCY CHINWO NOT AWARE EEZEE TEE TREATED ME UNFAIRLY – DR ROY

Music producer Dr Roy says gospel music minister Mercy Chinwo was not aware the record label boss they once worked for treated him unfairly.

Dr Roy, a former producer with Eezee Concept Records owned by Ezekiel ThankGod aka EeZee Tee, made this known during an interview on streamed on Monday on The Honest Bunch Podcast with on-air-personality Nedu Ani and others.

Dr Roy accused EeZee Tee of maltreatment, saying the record label boss withheld his financial gains after he produced ‘Excess Love’ and other hit tracks of Mercy Chinwo who was signed by the record label some seven years ago.

“For the onset, Mercy did not know what was happening,” Dr Roy said. “I don’t know what made Mercy leave but I won’t be surprised if what happened to me also happened to Mercy Chinwo too.

“For Mercy’s sake, I don’t know how he (EeZee Tee) has painted me before her so I didn’t let her know the maltreatment.”

Dr Roy said some close to him “reached out to Mercy that my father had died. Mercy then called me, send me money, and send money to my mother. She said she did not know that my father was sick. She even did not know what I was facing under him (EeZee Tee).”

The music producer also released a video on his Instagram further clarifying what he said on the podcast. “I deeply respect her talent and character. My remarks were aimed at the record label owner I worked for. Mercy Chinwo helped me when my father had stroke, she helped me when he died,” he stated.

Dr Roy said it was not true that Mercy Chinwo refused to assist him at any point. Dr Roy and Mercy Chinwo once worked under under Eezee Concept Records before the two of them left the record label over allegations of unfair treatment.

Ondo APC guber primary inconclusive, to continue on Sunday

Usman Ododo, Kogi state governor, says the Ondo governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will continue on Sunday.

Ododo is the chairman of the seven-member committee set up by the party’s national leadership to supervise the exercise.

In a statement signed by the Kogi governor late on Saturday, he said the election committee has decided that voting will take place in all 13 wards of Okitipupa LGA.

He said election did not hold in the LGA due to the late arrival of materials. The announcement comes amid protests by some of the governorship hopefuls over the conduct of the election. While some have demanded the cancellation of the election, others alleged irregularities in the process.

Olusola Oke, Olugbenga Edema, Wale Akinterinwa, Dayo Faduyile and Jimi Odimayo are among the governorship hopefuls who have kicked against the conduct of the exercise. Despite the criticism and controversies surrounding the primary election, the Kogi state governor said the process was transparent.

DOLLAR RATE :- Dele Farotimi reacts as Aisha Yesufu advice Nigerians to keep their dollar close

A lawyer and activist, Dele Farotimi in a post he made on his official X handle on Tuesday reacted to a statement made by Aisha Yesufu regarding the current gain of the naira against the US dollar. In the post made by Yesufu on her official X handle, She alleged that the experiment of the CBN Governor will have a negative effect on business owners in the future. The Labour Party member advised Nigerians to keep their dollar close.

Reacting to this, Farotimi claimed that those condemning the take of Aisha Yesufu lack the intellectual capacity to comprehend the argument she raised. He alleged that those condemning her are interpreting her words through the partisan hatred they have for her.

Hear him, “They are sorely lacking in intellectual capacity and cannot comprehend the argument that you have raised. They are interpreting your words through the prisms of their partisan hatred for you, but time will prove you right. May God save us all.”

ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT TO BEGIN TEACHERS RECRUITMENT ON TUESDAY 2ND APRIL, 2024.

Ondo SUBEB has concluded plans to commence the long awaited recruitment of qualified teachers into Public Primary Schools across the State as from Tuesday.

In line with Ondo State Government’s commitment to fill critical vacancies in its public service, Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board ODSUBEB has gotten approval to commence the recruitment of qualified teachers into its Public Primary Schools across the rural areas of the State from next week..

According to a Press Release issued by the Board’s, Director of Information and Public Relations Prince Bolu Diesel Ajijo the exercise that will last five days will commence on Tuesday, 2nd April and ends on Saturday, 6th April.2024.

The current exercise tagged “Recruitment of Teachers for Rural Areas” is designed by the State Government to fill the ever yearning gap in the teaching staff in the rural areas of the State as against the Municipal and Urban areas that have more than their required teachers going by UNESCO standard of a maximum of 35 pupils per class.

Speaking on the recruitment before now while seeking the Governor’s approval, the Executive Chairman of ODSUBEB Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan said this is going to be a special exercise because it is going to be based on tbe needs assessment of each Local Government.

According to Olabimtan, appointments of teachers under this dispensation will be by Community by Community and Local Government by Local Government meaning that the Board would do everything humanly and administratively possible to ensure the new teachers to be recruited stay in their locality for at least five years before requesting for transfer

The only way to make tbe new Teachers stay and teach in their duty post is to ensures native of particular area and Local Government are recruited to teach in their localities, Communities and Local Government.

The former Speaker Ondo State House of Assembly opined only citizens of a Local Government like Ilaje, Ese -Odo, Irele and Odigbo because of the Special nature of these areas will be recruited to teach in their Schools.

To qualified for a teaching appointment, an applicant who must be a Professional Teachers with a minimum of NCE shall apply through the official Portal www.odsgsubed.org Other qualifications that applicants could possess are B.(ED) BA (ED), Bsc (ED).

AFCON: Nigeria 1(4) – (3)1 South Africa; Nigeria Through to the final After Beating South Africa on Penalties

It was a tense encounter between Nigeria and South Africa at the Stade Bouaké, the first half saw South Africa dominate possession, constantly pressuring the Nigerian defense. Despite their control of the ball, South Africa struggled to create clear-cut chances, with Percy Tau squandering a golden opportunity by shooting straight at Stanley Nwabili. Another promising chance came when Evidence Makgopa unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the box, only to be denied by an excellent save from Nwabili.

Nigeria, on the other hand, began the second half with renewed energy and purpose. Victor Osimhen spearheaded their attack and had a chance to score with a header, but he could not keep the ball down. Osimhen later won a penalty for Nigeria, which was confidently converted by Troost-Ekong to give the Super Eagles the lead.

South Africa responded with determination, and Percy Tau continued to be a threat in attack. Ademola Lookman also had a late chance for Nigeria, but the South African goalkeeper anticipated his movement and made a crucial save.

In a dramatic turn of events, Victor Osimhen thought he had doubled Nigeria’s lead, but his goal was disallowed due to a foul in the build-up. South Africa seized the opportunity to equalize when they were awarded a penalty, which Mokoena successfully converted to level the score at 1-1.

As the game entered extra time, both teams pushed for a winner, creating end-to-end action and having chances to clinch victory. However, neither side could find the decisive goal, and the match ended in a thrilling 1-1 draw, sending it to a penalty shootout to determine who would advance to the final.

Mokoena failed to convert South Africa’s first penalty attempt, while Ola Aina also missed for Nigeria. However, Stanley Nwabili made a crucial save against Evidence Makgopa’s penalty, guessing the right direction. Kelechi Iheanacho stepped up and successfully scored the decisive penalty, sending Nigeria through to the final of the AFCON.

*POOR ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IN ONDO CITY: OSEMAWE IN- COUNCIL CALLS AN EMERGENCY MEETING*

In a swift response to the epileptic power supply and the emerging grievances from some quarters against the phenomenon in Ondo city, the Osemawe in- council led by High Lisa Oguntimehin today summoned an emergency meeting with the management of BEDC Ondo business unit and Ondo Ekimogun Youths Congress, at the Osemawe palace hall.

High Chief Sasere Olu Adeduro, who is also the chairman, Osemawe Committee on Electricity says it is yet a rude shock and disgusting to him that Ondo is still having this kind of ugly experience despite all efforts being made by his committee, Osemawe in council, Youths and Ondo sons and daughters to avert such.
Surprisingly, all the elders and leaders present at the meeting expressed similar concerns.

In his reaction, BEDC business manager, Mr Saibu Faleye pleaded with the community but blamed the problem on the decrease in power generation from the national grid. And that BEDC is working ‘assiduously’ to increase the megawatts given to them as soon as power generation improved.

Not satisfied with the response of the BEDC representatives, the chiefs maintained that more pre-paid meters(PPM) should be distributed. While the company should also work on the suspension placed on the previous distribution process. This they say will ameliorate the issue of ‘estimated billings’, because consumers will only pay for what they use.

The elders resolved that BEDC headquarters would be contacted directly for a lasting solution to the electricity problems being faced by Ondo people since it appeared Ondo center could not provide a workable solution.

The council therefore appealed to all Ondo residents especially, youths to be calm and allow peace to reign stating that the existing peace being enjoyed in the kingdom is non negotiable. They further affirmed that the elders in the kingdom will leave no stone unturned to nip the electricity problems in the bud.

Apart from the names aforementioned, also present in the meeting were; High chief Odofin Olaniyan, High chief Adaja Ayodeji, Chief Orunto Akintoye, Chief Sa’a Bayo Akinnagbe, Engr. Kayode Folajogun, Ondo Youths President and Engr. Gbenga Quadri, BEDC Technical manager.

That is the secret of life, the cow does not give milk. You milk her or you don't get milk. There is this generation that thinks that cows GIVE milk. That things are automatic and free: their mentality is that if "I wish, I ask..... I obtain."

"They have been accustomed to get whatever they want the easy way...But no, life is not a matter of wishing, asking and obtaining. The things that one receives are the effort of what one does. Happiness is the result of effort. Lack of effort creates frustration."
