*NCHAKA: ONELGA COUNCIL BOSS ASSURES COMMUNITY LEADERS OF BETTER WELFARE*

The Executive Chairman of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni LGA, Hon. Prince Isaac Umejuru has assured Community Leaders and traditional Rulers of Onelga of better welfare in his tenure. The Chairman said this when Paramount Rulers of Communities Celebrating Nchaka paid him a festival visit in the council Secretariat on Monday 25th November 2024.

Receiving the royal at Onelga Council Pavilion, Hon. Umejuru took time to highlight his projects and programs in less than two months in office which includes building of a 21st century two-storey administrative block, Chairman's residential building in the council, renovating of Onelga Legislative block, remodeling of Onelga council Pavilion and lots of projects. The Chairman said great sons of Onelga like Sir Dr. Peter Odil, the former Governor of Rivers State and Late Engr. Victor Igwe Masi former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will be honoured as the new buildings will be named after them.

In his presentation, the Chairman of Ogba Paramount Ruler, the Community Leaders (Ochi Ohnas) of Ogbaland, HRH Amb. Dr. Bright Abali said he led the Community Leaders celebrating the annual Nchaka Festival of Ogbaland to the Chairman as part of programs in marking the celebration of the rich Nchaka culture of the good people of Ogba Nation. Eze Bright Abali said the traditional rulers are pleased with the performance of Honourable Prince Isaac Umejuru and prayed that the good Lord should continue to guide him to do more for onelgans. In his own separate words, the Chairman of Ochi Ohnas of Omoku zone, HRH Eze Michael Olowu, Ochi Oha Obohia of Omoku thanked the Executive Chairman of Onelga for promising to pay community Leaders of onelga stipends in his tenure and he assured the chairman of maximum corporation from all communities of onelga.

The Event also featured decoration of the Chairman with Royal props, Wrapper and walking stick, as the chairman in turn made a cash donation for festival item to the royal visitors.

The testimonies of the royal fathers on their visit is a testament that the Honourable Isaac Umejuru led government is keen and concerned about all organs and people of onelga.

*IKIRI COMMUNITY HONOURS CLO OF CRANEBURG NIGERIA LTD, AS HE DECLARES FOR EZE IGBURU STOOL*

Mr. Smart Orike, The Community Liaison Officer (CLO) of Craneburg Nigeria Limited, the company constructing the Elele-Ikiri-Omoku road has been honoured with a chieftancy title of Eze Ogbow II of Ikiri his home town in Igburu clan of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni LGA.

The event took place at Ikiri town square as Mr. Smart Orike converge his people to declare his intention to be the next Eze Igburu of Igburu, the Clan head of Igburu clan in Ogba Kingdom.

In his part, the eldest man of Ikiri town during the crowning, Pa Richard Sunday prayed for Mr. Orike and lauded him for his achievements and commitment to the development of the community.

Performing the traditional rites, the Paramount ruler, Ochi Ohna of Ikiri town, Dr. Amos Nwaikiri said, Mr. Smart Orike is among the illustrious sons of Ikiri town who has distinguished himself in community Service, respect for authorities and he's worthy to be honoured of the prestigious title of the Eze Ogbo of Umu-Ogbo kindred of Ikiri after the exit of the first occupant of the stool. The Paramount Ruler of Ikiri seized the moment to thank the Rivers State Government Led by His Excellency Sir Siminalaye Fubara and Prof. Ngozi Odu for embarking on the construction of the Elele-Ikiri-Omoku road which he described as a very important project to the people of Onelga. He also thanked Craneburg Nigeria Limited for their commitment in delivering the job.

As culture demands, the Eldest man and the Paramount Ruler Crowned and Decorated Chief Smart Orike in the town square amidst jubilation by friends and loved ones.

In his vote of thanks, the newly coronated Chief Smart Orike thanked the good people of Ikiri and Guests for the Honour done him and solicited for the support of Igburu people in his aspiration to become the clan head of Igburu, Eze Igburu iv of Ogbaland.

Guests present at the event include the Paramount Rulers of some towns in Igburu, the Ochi Oha of Ikiri, Ohiauga, Elehia, Uju, Egbada and Okposi town. Other traditional Rulers also present Include a frontline aspirant of the Eze Igburu stool, Chief Allison Onyebuchukwu D who also presented items to the community after declaring his intention to vie for the Eze Igburu stool.

IGBURU TRADITIONAL RULERS OF OGBA KINGDOM CONCLUDES ONE YEAR MOURNING FOR LATE EZE IGBURU THE 3RD, FLAG-UP PROCESS FOR SELECTION OF EZE IGBURU THE 4TH

The core traditional Rulers of Igburu Clan of Ogba Ethnic Nationality in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni LGA of Rivers State on the 5th day of September 2024 concluded a compulsory one year mourning period for late Eze Igburu the third, HRM Eze Chinedu Nnabugo Igwe, the last occupant of the government recognized second class stool of Igburu People, who joined his ancestors on the 5th day of September 2023.

Speaking in the event, the Chairman of Igburu Divisional Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, HRH Eze Christopher Chibor and the Ochi Ohna, Paramount Ruler of Okansu Community said the mourning period was necessary and worthwhile to give respect to the late Eze Igburu as traditional rite demands. He also thanked Igburu people for fulfilling all righteousness and maintaining peace within the mourning period .

The traditional Rulers also conducted a farewell prayers for the departed Eze which was said by HRH Eze Ijeoma Igwe, the Eze Alioma of Igburu, who commited the soul of the departed to eternal rest marking the separation of the living and the dead.

In his own part, HRH Amb. Bright Abali, the Ukela Ukwu 1 of Igburu-Ogbaland, applauded Igburu Traditional Rulers for their high sense of decorum and maturity in handling their affairs. The traditional Spokesman also outlined the traditional and Constitutional Processes for selection of the next Eze Igburu and reassured the good people of Igburu clan and the general public to expect a tranquil and peaceful process from the Igburu Traditional Institution in the selection of the Eze Igburu the forth.

The completion of the mourning period of Eze Igburu the third was observed by the core traditional Rulers of Igburu saddled with the traditional responsibilities of Igburu Clan of Ogbaland. In attendance were the Ochi Ohnas of Igburu Communities and Zonal Ezes of Igburu clan.
