Infectious leadership qualities of late Prof. Oyeoku will be greatly missed - Gov. Ikpeazu
The remains of Prof Kalu Kalu Oyeoku has been laid to rest in his Country home in Ndi Inyima, Ebem Ohafia Umumba in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State.
Speaking during the funeral service held in his honour by the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, described Prof Kalu Kalu Oyeoku as not only a man of impeccable character but a man while alive stood out an iroko and did his best to ensure that Ohafia is what it was today .
His words, "If it is possible for a man to live for eternity, he is the kind of person we would have love to continue to live but the irony of life is that no matter how sweet it is, no matter how wonderful a man it is, no matter how lovely that person is, there must be a terminal end".
Dr Ikpeazu represented by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu noted that as a great Community leader known for his diligence, integrity, patriotism and quiet philanthropy, Prof. Oyeoku's infectious leadership qualities will be highly missed by all and sundry.
He described death as a necessary and inevitable end for every mortal and urged the bereaved family not to mourn as those without hope, but take solace in the worthy and fulfilled life he used to impact positively on the lives of the Church, Community, State and humanity at large.
Dr Ikpeazu further implored them to uphold all the sterling qualities of late Prof. Kalu Kalu Oyeoku and prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss as well as grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest.
Responding on behalf of the family, the Son in-law of the deceased, Dr. Eme Ajike described his late father in-law as a perfectionist that left indelible legacies and sacrificed his entire life for the comfort of others and appreciated the State Government, the Presbyterian Community and all for coming to identify with them.
