In the annals of Nigerian history, the narrative of Olofin Atekoye's expedition holds a place of paramount significance. As we delve into the depths of time, we uncover the enigmatic tale of his voyage, intricately woven with the threads of adventure, discovery, and cultural evolution.

Olofin Atekoye, a revered figure in Yoruba mythology, embarked on a journey that would leave an indelible mark on the landscape of West Africa. From the revered city of Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba civilization, he set sail with a band of intrepid explorers, their eyes fixed on the distant horizon and their hearts brimming with anticipation.

Their voyage led them to the ancient settlement of Ota, nestled amidst the lush forests and fertile plains of southwestern Nigeria. Here, amidst the whispers of the wind and the rustle of the leaves, Olofin Atekoye and his companions found solace from the rigors of their journey, their spirits buoyed by the warmth and hospitality of the local inhabitants.

But Ota was more than just a fleeting stop on their journey; it was a crucible of cultural exchange and historical significance. Here, amidst the convergence of diverse peoples and traditions, Olofin Atekoye and his companions were exposed to a tapestry of customs and rituals that would shape their understanding of the world around them.

As they continued their odyssey, their footsteps echoing across the landscape, Olofin Atekoye and his companions carried with them the memories of Ota – memories that would inform their vision for the future. Little did they know that their encounter with this ancient settlement would lay the groundwork for the founding of one of Africa's most iconic cities – Lagos.

Today, as we reflect on the historical odyssey of Olofin Atekoye, let us pay tribute to the enduring legacy of exploration and discovery. Let us celebrate the spirit of adventure that fueled his journey, and let us honor the role that Ota played in shaping the destiny of a people and a nation.

In the tapestry of Nigerian history, Olofin Atekoye's voyage stands as a testament to the enduring quest for knowledge and understanding. May his story continue to inspire generations to come, guiding them on their own journeys of exploration and discovery.

To Our Leaders;

We lend our voice and support our brothers and sisters, today not merely as a journalist but as a voice echoing the sentiments of a community, echoing the aspirations of a people whose heritage and legacy are deeply intertwined with the soils of Aworiland.

We reside in a land brimming with culture, a land interwoven with traditions passed down through generations. Yet, as we forge ahead into the future, let us take a moment to ponder on a matter that holds significance not just for us today but for the generations yet to come.

In the act of governance, equity is the cornerstone upon which justice is built. It is a simple concept, yet its application is often fraught with complexity. Look around us - neighbouring regions boast multiple paramount rulers, each carrying the weight of their people's history and aspirations. Ijebu has two paramount Rulers, Egba has two, and Ogun West has one. And what of Aworiland?

The Awori Traditional Council stands as a beacon of our heritage, a custodian of our history, and a symbol of unity. It is a testament to the resilience and shared identity of our people. Yet, it remains a glaring omission in the landscape of paramount rulership, a narrative that defies the logic of fairness.

Justice is not merely a lofty ideal; it is a moral imperative, a calling to rectify imbalances and ensure that every voice is heard and respected. Consider for a moment the wisdom in embracing the Awori Traditional Council as a paramount ruler. Consider the richness of our culture, the depth of our history, and the unity we can foster by recognizing our heritage in this manner.

This isn't merely about titles or positions; it's about acknowledging the intrinsic value of the Awori people, their traditions, and the need for equitable representation. It's about acknowledging that justice must not only be done but must also be seen to be done.

Let us embark on a journey of inclusivity, where every culture, every tradition, and every heritage is accorded the respect it deserves. Let us, together, champion the cause of justice, ensuring that the Awori Traditional Council is given its rightful place among the paramount rulers, not just for us today, but for the posterity of Aworiland.

Thank you.
