Their monthly pay increased from N29.4m to N37.57m while workers salary remained 30k.

All they achieved was new national anthem.

On this day in 1967: Biafra Officially became a Republic.

Following a series of widespread ethnic violence that erupted after the July 29, 1966 countercoup which installed General Yakubu Gowon, as head of state, which led to the massacre of Igbo people in northern Nigeria, (by September 1966, approximately 30,000 Igbo civilians were killed in the north) Ojukwu declared the Eastern region a sovereign and independent republic under the name of 'Republic of Biafra' on the 30th of May 1967.

General Yakubu Gowon, the leader of the Federal Government of Nigeria, refused to recognize Biafra’s secession.

Biafra was formally recognised by Gabon, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Tanzania, and Zambia.

The Republic of Biafra comprised over 29,848 square miles (77,310 km2) of land, with terrestrial borders shared with Nigeria to the north and west, and with Cameroon to the east. Its coast was on the Gulf of Guinea of the South Atlantic Ocean in the south.

Three major rivers flow from Biafra into the Gulf of Guinea: the Imo River, the Cross River and the Niger River.

The Bank of Biafra, accomplished under "Decree No. 3 of 1967" carried out all economic and central banking functions including the administration of foreign exchange and the management of the public debt of the Republic.

The secession led to the genocide that claimed the lives of over 3.5 million Igbo people plus that of ethnic groups from the Eastern region.

Today, we remember our people who fought courageously during the genocide.

Those who gave their lives so we don't go into extinction.

We will NEVER forget them

THE POWER OF PRAISE
Joshua 6:1-21, Acts 16:25-31

Praises are potent and veritable means of thanking, adoring, worshiping and acknowledging God, for his infinite goodness towards us. Closed doors are opened during praises. Healings, miracles, recovery, restoration and impossibilities are made possible by God during praises. In fact powers change hands and people are delivered from demonic possessions, obsessions and manipulations during praises. Also victories over enemies are recorded during praises as in 2 Chronicles 20:20-24. Praises for certain, can be rightly considered as a weapon of mass destruction over enemies because of its efficacy. In the scripture Joshua 6:1-27, the people of Israel sang songs of praises to God, while matching round the walls of Jericho on their way to the promised land and it crumbled and scattered. Acts 16:25-31. Paul and Silas, while in prison, prayed and sang praises to God and power of the Holy Spirit came down mightily leading to their release. Before the end of the program, you shall experience sudden transformation and breakthrough. You shall pursue; you shall overtake and you shall recover all. Receive the anointing to overtake and recover all, in the name of Jesus.
