Senator Annie Okonkwo(Agunechemba, Okaka Ojoto), a former senator who represented Anambra central Senatorial District, is dead.

He died yesterday after managing a terminal illness.

At the twilight of his life, Annie Okonkwo spent his last days abroad treating an unnamed sickness suspected to be cancer.

He used to run Zoom mobile, a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) telecom business which later closed shop in 2012 because of intense competition and onslaught from GSM operators.

Story Of Late John Nebeolisa: The Multimillionaire Who Bought Kingship In Awkuzu, Anambra State.

Late Igwe John Ejikeme Nebeolisa, it would be recalled, used to be one of the most popular multi-millionaires of the 1990s from the East.

He was known to be a close buddy of Victor Okafor aka "Ezego" which translates as the king of money in Igbo language. John Nebeolisa during prime was everything a Nigerian man wished to be in life, expensive cars like the limousine, Porsche, Peugeot Chasis, he moved with bodyguards and in convoy, whatever it is that was in trend back in the 1990s name it John Nebeolisa aka Joneb had it all.

Joneb had businesses all over the eastern region, and so many landed properties in Lagos and overseas. His businesses spanned from hotels, travel agencies and other controversial setups.

He made so much money then from his controversial businesses and also spent it as if it was going out of fashion. The late king of high life music, Oliver de Coque sang his praises to high heavens in his albums.

At some point he dedicated an attire album to the owner of the once popular Joneb Holiday Inn in Awkuzu.

Amid all these wealth and power, Joneb still wasn't satisfied with all he has achieved as a multi-millionaire in his forties.

The controversial businessman Joneb wanted more power and fame to the extent he went toe to toe with age long tradition of Igbo land, specifically that of Anambra State and declared his intention of becoming the King of Awkuzu, a town in Oyi local government area in Anambra State.

After the death of King Aganama the fourth, the throne was forcefully taken by the Late King John Nnebeolisa.

Most of the elders of the town, dignitaries and the Igwe in council thought the multi-millionaire was bluffing until he stormed their houses one by one with bags full of naira notes that anyone opposing his ambition has ever seen in their entire generation.

Joneb was so rich that he practically bought his way into the throne. He bought every single person that had a tiny reason to object to his ambition, name your price and see it doubled in your face.

It was through Joneb that I knew kingship can be bought and everything on earth has its price.

When the price was paid for his ascencion to the throne of Awkuzu, Joneb along with all his aides on his side was crowned Igwe Ibilibe Ogada and Arusi Awkuzu which translates as (The biggest the town has ever seen and the Oracle of the whole kingdom of Awkuzu)

Joneb occupied the throne of Awkuzu for 10 years before dying in his home in Lagos while watching Tv with his family.

The family he left behind after his death was a young one and they weren't mentally or physically prepared to continue his legacy as the Arusi Awkuzu, so eventually the family he forcefully took the throne from later ended up with their birth right.

BREAKING!!! Paul Okoye's ex Wife Anita Demands N15m Naira Monthly as Abuja Court Finally Dissolves 14Years Marriage |

An Abuja High court has granted Anita and her estranged husband, Paul Okoye divorce. Anita who got married to Paul in 2014 cited cheating, separation, being an absent father, fraud, and difficult experiences as her major reasons for seeking a divorce.

She requested a monthly settlement of $20,000 and a number of her husband’s mansions.

In the divorce petition signed by her lawyer, Ojonimi Akpe and Okutepa J.S at an Abuja High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama, Anita had earlier claimed that she contributed N10 million as an agreement with her husband that she would be granted space at the mall he had just completed in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

She, however, claimed Paul Okoye cheated her out of a deal.

The petition reads in part, “That I know as a fact that the petitioner founded a company called TannkCo in 2019.

“That the petitioner and the respondent agreed to build a mall where TannkCo would have its main offices, and the petitioner contributed N10,000,000.00 (Ten Million Naira) for the purchase of the land and the building of the mall.

“That I know as a fact that the respondent, upon completion of the mall, reneged on the agreement and failed to give TannkCo a space in the mall.”

However, Anita decided to withdraw the claims and opted to settle following alleged inability to prove all of the claims in her petition to the court.

The court, in ruling of the case, granted joint custody of the children to the parties on October 20, 2022.

Iru Mgbede

This is an old traditional Igbo fattening ritual and beautifying of a bride shortly before marriage. It is not compulsory, it is done if the husband wishes and is buoyant enough. In this period the woman is not to work, she is entitled to traditional beauty make-ups such as "Uhie", very good and rich food. It lasts for about three months. She sleeps on a hanging bed called "Uko bed". In place of cloths,she wears what is called "Ogodo".

Also, as part of the beauty process,the bride rubs palm oil generously on her body and wear beads called "Mgbagi" on her ogodo. During her stay in this period,as part of entertaining herself, she plays music with instrument called "Ekpete or Ibekwe or Ebele Ububo". She uses this to attract the attention of children who often spend her days with her.
At the end of the mgbede period an elaborate and expensive ceremony is done to show her off to the public. She is taken to the market in a procession known as "Ifu Ahia Mgbede" along with her friends and age grade.
