OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ASSISTANT ON STUDENT AFFAIRS TO THE EXACUTIVE GOVERNOR OF BAUCHI STATE;
*PRESS RELEASE*
Section 39 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended states that Every person shall be entitled to freedom of expression, including freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart ideas and information without interference, and Section 40 provides that Every person shall be entitled to assemble freely and associate with other persons, and he may form or belong to any political party, trade union, or any other association for the protection of his interests. Even though Section 45 of the same constitution provides for the limitations of the aforementioned rights in certain circumstances.
In light of the above, we encourage Bauchi State students to stay calm and focus on their studies while avoiding the END BAD GOVERNANCE PROTEST scheduled for Thursday, 1st, 2024, as hoodlums plan to hijack the protest once it starts, leading to a breakdown of law and order.
The State Government and Security Agencies have made arrangements to safeguard all students on campuses throughout the protest days.
Accept the assurance of our best regards.
