I remember the last AQOC Kiddies Conference we did in January and some of the kids were asked to make some presentations of some of their lessons.
My boy, Umar from Manchester City too was there. It was barely 4 weeks or so that he joined the institute and all what he could present that day was a simple 2 and 3-letter words with Fatha.
Umar was smaller and younger than he is now. He was barely 5. And was extremely shy.
He couldn't even introduce himself properly.
He had always seen only himself in class before but that day, he saw some other kids that were even older than him for the first time in class. So he couldn't believe his eye and was very shy.
During the Introduction/ Meet and Greet Session, he was called upon to introduce himself. Instead of him to do introduce himself he kept on running helter-skelter the conference.
It took the intervention of his dad before he got a little bit composed.
"Calm down Umar and say after me :
"My name is Abdganiy Umar. I am 5 years old"
His dad instructed from behind the camera.
He quickly funnily ran away as he retorted his dad's introduction 😀
He completed his reading of Spelling book, Nurul Bayyan 3 weeks ago. Seeing my boy now reading some short chapters of the Glorious Qur'ān today really made me happily teared-up and brought a kind of goosebumps.
Although, this is not where we are going with regards to his Quran and literacy journey, the path is still very far, but we are definitely making a progress, alhamdulillah.
May Allah continue to ease it for us.
At this juncture, I will like to appreciate the concerted efforts of Umar's parents especially his dad, for their great supports with us at AQOC in the Qur'ānic and Islamic upbringing of their ward despite their busy schedules.
The success recorded so far will not have been possible without their support. May Allah continue to fortify them and reward them abundantly.
I appreciate my friend Umar too, for his hardworking, commitment, devotion and his "ready-to-learn" and "I-can-do-it" mindset even as a kid that he is. May you live long my dear lovely friend, prosper and be that great ambassador of the Qur'ān that you've always wished to be.
Baarokallahu Feekuum.
