Igbo Can Never Be Slaves to Anyone in Nigeria - Amechi |
Former aviation minister has vowed that Ndigbo can never be slaves to anyone in Nigeria, IgbereTV has learned.
He made this statement during an interview with BBC Igbo monitored by penchat news.
"Because their Anger concerning how the country is going made Ipob to start agitating for independent.
In other parts of the world, those asking to govern themselves are given plebescite let them vote to know if truly they wan independent.
Ipob is asking for referendum and the government is adamant to it and also not ready to give them their right as part of Nigerians.
You can't beat a child and ask him not to cry.
Ndigbo should be strong and courageous this time. We are not going to fight with guns and bullets again because we are not prepared for now but this fight is the fight of the mind and using our God given brains to achieve our aims.
All these they're doing, the south south doesn't like it, the west are not in support and even the middle belts.
We asked them to come to table let's reorganize ourselves concerning NIGERIA so that everyone will benefit from it but one set of people are against it. They don't want others to be free in this country.
Instead of Ndigbo to become slaves to this people, it's better we go home and become poor in our own land. Ndigbo can never be a slave to anyone in this country.
And if Nigeria continue with their attacks on Igbo people agitating for independent, a time will come when the hell will loose and people will have no option than to fight with their blood.
I don't want Nigeria to break because I know the advantages of been a big nation.
What Nigeria needs now is to meet, make plans over how every region must have full access to their God given resources so that peace can reign.
But if one region continue to play Lord on others in Nigeria, a time will come when they can't handle it again because he that holds what belongs to a child, time will come when he will bring down his hands and give it back to the child.
If he fails to give the child what becomes to him, God will do it himself and set his people free.
That is my last statement to you!.

2023: Northern Govs in Late Night Closed Door Meeting at Kalu's Residence |
Five northern governors from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) late Sunday night visited the Senate Chief Whip and former governor of Abia state, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu at Kalu's Abuja residence.
IgbereTV sources at the venue said upon arrival, Kalu and the governors immediately went into a closed door Meeting.
The secret meeting which is believed to be centered on the 2023 elections lasted till the early hours of this morning.
Kalu who recently disowned presidential campaign posters which flooded major cities in the country is believed to be under intense pressure from APC leadership to run for president in 2023.
The governors had earlier met behind closed doors with 13 Other APC Governors at the Kebbi state Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro.
Some of the governors in attendance included the host and Kebbi state governor, Abubakar Bagudu, his counterparts from Ebonyi, Jigawa, Kogi, Imo, Lagos, Nasarawa, Zamfara, Katsina, Plateau, Cross River, Jigawa, Kano, Kwara, Borno, Zamfara, Niger, Ogun and Ekiti states

Two brother-teenagers, Monday (15 years old) and Ayomide (16 years old), with a blind father, accused of stealing eye-drops for their father's use, regained their freedom today after spending 10 months in prison.
These two teenagers went to prison not because they were caught in the act of any crime, but because a neighbour tipped the police off that they brought things home without any source of income and after the police visited and searched their house, eye drops were found and typical of Nigerian police of "wey the receipt" form of arrest, the teenagers were promptly arrested and not charged to court in Ikole Ekiti where their blind father lived but were taken to Ado Ekiti to be charged before a magistrate court who remanded them in prison since February 2021 till their release today after some efforts from our chambers represented by Benjamin Obilor Esq. and a conscientious youth activist in Ekiti, Comrade Moyinoluwa Victor Emmanuel, who is also a victim of persecution by Ekiti State government, for participating in the October 2020 protest and who encountered these teenagers in prison and reported the case to our chambers.
I was moved by Moyinoluwa's passion for justice. On the day he spoke with me for the first time, he said since he left prison, his conscience had not let him rest anytime he remembered those two teenagers in prison.
They are out today.
Nothing shall discourage us!

Few months after declaring support for a detrabilized Nigerian President who can unite the country and save the country from imminent disintegration, Northern group, Arewa Youths for Orji Uzor Kalu, has made a bold statement by flooding posters of Orji Uzor Kalu for President. The posters were sighted in Abuja , Kano , Umuahia, Aba, Enugu.
Kalu who is the Chief Whip of the Senate and former Governor of Abia state has been called upon by several Northern and Southern leaders , Civil society groups and Youth groups to run for office of the president. However, Kalu has refused to heed to their call insisting that he is only interested in returning to the Senate.
Recall that the Northern youths after a rally held recently in Abuja made their position on the 2023 presidential race . In a statement signed by her chieftains , The group called Kalu the best presidential material in 2023, urging the ruling All Progressive Congress to commence a process of adopting him as the sole candidate of the party.
Comrade Yakubu Arigu Muhammad, National Coordinator of the group; Abdulkadir Sadiq Muhammad, Ag. Secretary General; Ibrahim Abdullahi, National Organizing Secretary; and Musa Yahaya Waziri, Director of Media and Publicity, in the statement said that Kalu’s managerial skill, experience and national appeal put him in the best position to rule Nigeria in 2023.
They said: “This may sound odd in the eyes of Nigerians especially those nursing the intention to run for the number one seat in the land. Be that as it may, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s acceptability demonstrates the settled resolve of the youths in the 19 Northern states to support him succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.“Kalu is a result-oriented leader with a proven track record that can sustain and consolidate the gains recorded by the current administration.
“Kalu is the best bet for the APC in 2023. He is a presidential material with experience in the private sector; executive and legislative arms of government.“It is imperative to state that, with Nigerians pushing for a President of South-East extraction, the stakeholders in APC need not look any further because the dutiful, and detribalised Orji Uzor Kalu is the right candidate for the party.
“His influence cuts across all the six-geopolitical zones in the country. Don’t forget he was the Chairman of Borno Water Board at the age of 25; Chairman of multinational companies and, a former Governor of Abia State.“We are totally convinced that what Nigeria needs right now is a courageous and vibrant leader who is capable of managing a complex nation like Nigeria. That resourceful manager is Kalu.” the group said

I sold my 3-month-old baby for N150k to pay house rent ― Mother confesses
A 23-year-old mother of three, Miss Mercy Okon, who sold her 3-month-old baby for N150k has revealed that she needed the money to pay her house rent and offset other bills.
She told Vanguard that it was out of poverty and desperation that she did what she did in a bid to help herself.
According to her, the father of the child left her when she was six months pregnant, and she has two other children that she left with her mother, since she just gave birth and can no longer continue with her food business.
“I have never done this before, my baby that I sold for N150k was to be able to raise money for house rents and sort myself out as it concerns other bills.
The father of the baby left us when I was six months pregnant, I had no choice as things were really hard for me, so I had to give out the baby, but initially the person who linked me up told me that, his brother wanted to marry me.
It was from there that I was offered N150k which I collected before handing over my three months old baby to them and in the process, police got involved and I was arrested,” she said.

According to rumours Nigeria to get 20 new states. See the list
The agitation for the creation of more states in the country is about to enter a new phase. This follows the recommendation by the Senate Committee on Constitution Review that referendum be conducted for 20 new states by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to The Nation, the committee’s decision was reached after considering various factors including the ability of civilian administration to create states. It recalled that the defunct Mid-Western Region was created in 1963 in the First Republic.
A highly placed source said the Senate panel will soon meet with the House of Representatives Committee on Constitution Review for joint consultations on some of the approved amendments. Creation of new states tops the list of amendments to the 1999 Constitution.
The list of requests for new states is quite long but sources said referendum may be conducted for no fewer than 20 states.
Some of the requests include ITAI State (from Akwa Ibom State);State status for the FCT; Katagum State from Bauchi State; Okura State from Kogi East; Adada State from Enugu State; Gurara State from Kaduna South; and Ijebu State from Ogun State.
Others include Ibadan State from Oyo State; Tiga State from Kano State; Ghari State from Kano State; Amana State from Adamawa; Gongola State from Adamawa; Mambilla State from Taraba State; Savannah State from Borno State; and Okun state from Kogi State.
Others on the list are Etiti State from the South East Zone; Orashi State from Imo and Anambra states; Njaba from the present Imo State or the excision of Aba State from Abia State; Anioma State from Delta State; Torogbene and Oil River States, from Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers states; and Bayajida State from parts of Katsina, Jigawa and Zamfara states.

"Let me tell you a story about my marriage that will shock you.
About 6 months before my wife Favour Iyen and I got married, she started complaining of some pains in her abdomen.
At first, we ignored it but it became severe by the passing of each day, so I told her to go to the hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.
They ran some scans and guess what the results were?
The doctors said she does not Ovulate at all, that she had a problem with her womb and she cannot get pregnant ever!
There’s a name they called the condition (I can’t remember anymore)
This news left her devastated!
She was practically broken!
She called her mom and her elder sister to inform them about the heart-wrenching news, they too were devastated!
They told her not to inform me about it yet, because they were scared I would call-off the wedding.
I remember she came to me with the results that day, covered in tears, eyes swollen from excessive crying, still sobbing like a baby, she held my hands and said “Baby, I’m sorry, the doctor said I can’t ever give you a child”
What??? I felt a gripping cold!
She burst into another crying session, I could see the fear in her eyes, she too felt I was going to call everything off!
Right there and then, I held her hands, I couldn’t bear to see her in such pains, I hugged her and whispered to her ears
“I didn’t decide to marry you primarily because of children, I’m marrying you because I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, if we can’t bear children, we will adopt”
She couldn’t believe what she just heard, she was astonished, like she stood there for a while and cried some more, this time, tears of joy, I guess.
Omo, truth be told, that has to be one of the toughest decision I’ve had to make in split seconds in my entire life. TRUE LOVE IS A POWERFUL FORCE.
I couldn’t even tell any of my family members about this, not even my mum. I didn’t want to be discouraged by anyone.
Even when she told her family that she had informed me about it and I said I’m proceeding with the wedding plans, they were shocked! They couldn’t believe it.
6 months later, we got married against all odds.
I had already come to terms with the fact that we won’t be able to bear a child of our own.
Honestly, I wasn’t bothered.
Barely a month into our marriage, i would walk into the sitting room or bedroom and catch my wife crying profusely, this happened continuously on several occasions. When I ask to know what’s wrong, she’d say it’s frustrating to know she won’t be able to bear a child.
I would encourage her and tell her to cheer up, heck! I wasn’t complaining na.
Sometimes, I even got upset because it breaks my heart to see her cry.
Fast forward to 3 months into our marriage. One day her mom was to visit us, and she went to the park to pick her up.
When she got back, she handed me an envelope, and told me to open it.

Man allegedly k*lls his 4-month pregnant wife for ritual, 3 months after wedding
A Nigerian man, Nnanna Emeka, is on the run after he allegedly killed his 4-month-old pregnant in Ugbele Mgbidi area of Imo State.
It was gathered that the unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday, July 3, 2021, just three months after the couple tied the knot.
According to a source, “He wanted to take his wife out on a date, and then, probably take her to somewhere and k*ll her. He would have come back to cook up stories to cover his track. But unfortunately for him, the wife refused to go out with him.
Just few days before, she had told a friend that for the past week her husband’s character has changed, that she doesn’t understand him anymore. So, we believe that’s why she refused to go out with him.
However, after trying fruitlessly to get his wife to go out with him, he allegedly decided to k*ll her inside their apartment and take her co**se to the place where the ritual will be performed.
He was said to have used a rod to hit her on her forehead. But while trying to transport the body, people became suspicious and confronted him. But he took to his heels and as I speak, he is no where to be found.
