A word is enough !

We Will No Longer Tolerate Obstruction of Our Operations

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission wishes to warn members of the public that it is a criminal offence to obstruct officers of the Commission from carrying out their lawful duties.

Section 38(2)(a(b) of the EFCC Establishment Act makes it an offence to prevent officers of the Commission from carrying out their lawful duties. Culprits risk a jail term of not less than five years.

This warning becomes necessary against the background of the increasing tendency by persons and groups under investigation by the Commission to take the laws into their hands by recruiting thugs to obstruct lawful operations of the EFCC.

On several occasions, operatives of the Commission have had to exercise utmost restraint in the face of such provocation to avoid a breakdown of law and order. Regrettably, such disposition is being construed as a sign of weakness.

The Commission, therefore, warns that it will henceforth not tolerate any attempt by any person or organisation to obstruct its operation as such will be met with appropriate punitive actions.

KOGI ELECTION TRIBUNAL UPDATE

Something beautiful happened in court today

Kogi People needs to rejoice

The display and demonstration of BVAS machine used for accreditation on 11th November Governorship election in Kogi has almost come to a conclusion

On Friday, Ajaokuta and Lokoja BVAS were displayed

The prosecuting Council asked for the permission of the Court for INEC to update 92 BVAS that needed update from across the 5 Local Government been contested by Murtala Yakubu Ajaka

So, today in Court, the tribunal judge gave room for the cross examination of the PW1 ( Principal witness)

Note: The PW1 is an INEC Data analyst representing INEC in Court to display the BVAS as ordered by the tribunal

The cross examination was to put to conclusion whether or not the evidences presented by Murtala Ajaka are to be accepted in witness

The Respondents Council cross examined the PW1 to the best of their knowledge and the grounded PW1 was able to school the Court on the workings of INEC, the BVAS and data collection

After the cross examination, Muri lawyers, presented other evidences in CTC, irev, and BVAS certified screenshots for the affected Local Governments in the Central

Seeing that the evidences were overwhelming and the PW1 knows his onions in answering questions, the Tribunal judge in his wisdom ACCEPTED ALL the evidences presented

With INEC coming to testify through the BVAS that Election in Okene, Adavi, Okehi, Ajaokuta and Lokoja were crudely rigged in favour Ododo, it is now time for Kogi people to rejoice as their days of suffering is nearing the end

Recall that Supreme Court had given her judgment that only BVAS, CTC and form EC8A can prove the case of over voting and for the first time in Nigeria Muri Ajaka has presented all this requirements to prove his case

It seems, the s**t left by Yahaya Bello for Ododo to pack had stained his own agbada.

COURT RESTRAINS POLICE, DSS FROM ARRESTING SDP SPOKESMAN

A Federal Capital High Court has restrained the Kogi State Commissioner of Police,Mr Bethrand Unuoha from arresting, harassing or in anyway intimidating the Spokesman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mr Faruk Adejoh-Audu.

Also restrained in the order issued by the FCT court are the Inspector General of Police, the Director-General of the Department of State Security(DSS) and the Kogi State Director of DSS.

The order is pending the determination of a motion on notice in an action for the enforcement of his fundamental human rights brought by Mr Adejoh-Audu who claimed his life had come under threat from the defendants.

Adejoh-Audu, a veteran journalist, activist, politician and SDP spokesman had gone to court after altercations between him and the Kogi Police Commissioner, Mr Unuoha on election matters penultimate week after which the later publicly threatened thr spokesman to expect some unstated consequences.

The SDP Spokesman had on November 29, 2023 accused the police chief of collaborating with thugs to attack the interest of his party. Mr Unuoha held a press conference the next day in Lokoja an gave Adejoh-Audu 24 hours ultimatum to substantial his allegations or "be ready to face the consequences of his actions"

The SDP spokesman took up the challenge in a 17 paragraph reply justifying his allegations and accusing the police chief of resorting to self help by threatening to " visit unstated consequences" on him.

An FCT High Court presided over by Hon Justice N Hamza.after listening to O. U. Salifu Esq, lawyer to the SDP Spokesman in an exparte application, granted the order restraining The Inspector General of Police, The Director-General of the DSS, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police and the State Director of DSS from arresting or interfering with the liberty of the applicant.

The court has adjourned the matter to December 18, 2023 for the hearing of the Motion On Notice.
