WHEN GOD IS WITH YOU

“If a man loves me and keeps my commandments then my Father and I will come unto him and make our abode in him” (John 14:23).

Jesus tells us that the Father and He will come into our homes and will abide there. What a wonderful promise that the Almighty God who has charge of every form of life, whose ear is open to the heart of every human, will come and make His home with us.

Who can defeat you when our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ make their abode in you? What force on earth can challenge you when our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ are resident in you?

Let me show you an example of what it means to even have angels’ presence. In Gen 19, the angels of the Lord visited S***m and Gomorrah and were received by Lot in his house. The gay community of S***m decided to attack the place, thinking of breaking down the wall and having affair with the angels. The Scripture tells us that as they pressed on Lot, the angels pulled him back and smote the sodomites with blindness and they began to grope in the dark.

Imagine what happens when we have the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ living with us! Satan is routed! Hallelujah!

Just dwell for a moment on this thought that God and Jesus are in your house. Imagine how protected you and all yours are! They will bear your burdens, carry your loads, share your challenges and comfort your hearts. Oh, what a blessing, what a wonder that this great Father heart, this Omnipotent God will come into our home and help us rear our children, give us wisdom about life’s problems, and help us in those dark hours when we know not what to do. This is Christianity; it is not serving God; it is a child living with his Father!

Text: Luke 5:4-7

Restart means to start again, to start a new, a new start

Things that take up people's thoughts and mind
1. What will happen in the new year
2. What our resolutions are for the new year.

Let our Restart start with self examination with God's assistance.

Why do we need self examination?
1. Because it was commanded in the bible.
2. Because it allows us to detect the things that are wrong with us or why things went wrong.
3. It helps us to know our true state. If it is done with God's assistance, It gives us a divine perspective of our true state.
4. It protects us from giving further ground and space to the devil.
5. It gives us an opportunity to make adjustments and give us the opportunity to start all over again.

How do you make a fresh start?
1. Accept responsibility for your life, family and church.
- Many Christian's are good at blaming the environment, government and others for why things are not going well
- You are where you are today because of you and not others.
- Every person must be responsible for himself.
In life there are 3 different kinds of people
- Accusers; those who blame others
- Excusers; those who rationalise
- Choosers; those who take responsibility

Reasons why people fail
1. Because they do not do what God commands but do what they desire.
2. Because of inadequate preparation.
3. Because they have no respect for divine timing.
4. Because they have no respect for the orderly doing of things.
5. Because they do not plan ahead. If you fail to plan you are planning to fail.
6. Because they do not listen to good advice when it is offered. EGO- Edging God Out
7. Because they give up too soon.
FAIL; First Attempt In Learning

2. Take a stock of your life.
When taking stock of your life you need to ask these questions.
1. What have I learnt from all my years on earth?
2. What are my asset?
3. Who can help me?
Taking a stock of your life should be done prayerfully and in detail.

3.Prepare to act in faith
- Expectations are not wishes
- A wish can be defined as hoping for something that cannot or probably will not happen.
- To expect means to believe as true 5that something or someone is coming or will arrive soon.
- We need to move from hopeful longings with no assurance of performance to looking eagerly and confidently for something to occur.

How to prepare to act by faith
1. You need to start expecting more every day.
2. Stop regreting the past, it's time to move forward.
3. Begin to make plans, counting on God to direct you. If you don't have a plan you will just drift.
4. By setting goals for everyday, every week, a d every month. You need goals for every area of your life.
5. Begin to take some actions despite your fears.

4. Refocus
- To refocus means to put attention or resources on something new or something different.
- It means to change emphasis or direction.

Three areas that need refocus
1. Refocus on what is important.
- Learn how to be selective qso you can be effective.
2. Focus on what you want to change.
3. Refocus your thoughts.

5. Do it now, don't wait
- There will never be ideal circumstances to make a change.
- You can restart under imperfect circumstances.
- The more you wait the more difficult it becomes.

You need to trust God to help you succeed

5. Pastor - Human Resource Counselor
The Gifts and ministry of the Holy Spirit work in manifold ways and is not limited to a one approach. The Bible talks about the seven spirits yet refers to one and the same Spirit manifesting His completeness in different ways.
Some are open to revelation but not learning or teaching. The humble is open to learning, education and revelation.

Apostle - Long-Sight
Prophet - Foresight
Evangelist - Hindsight
Teacher - Insight
Pastor - Oversight
VISION means to SEE. All those in the fivefold ministry must have a vision or see something in the area of their ministries. Spiritual sight is the ability to see by revelation what needs to be done when and how. We all need vision to do His work effectively.

Evangelist - Commission
Pastor - Compassion
Teacher - Passion
We need a sense of Mission and Commission. We need a sense of vision and passion with Compassion to do effectively the task before us.

Fresh Grace.
2 Cor. 9:8. Jn 1:14,16.

Life of a believer should be spiritual. It should be rooted in the spiritual sphere.
(Romans 8:6). Anytime there is commotion.
Anywhere where there is a struggle, somebody has broken the rule of the spirit. Our lives should be spiritually guided.
You can only please God when you operate and function in the spirit...(Rom 8:8).
Grace is part of the spiritual impartations we received at salvation. It is a spiritual package that comes upon us. Jesus had grace without measure and out of his fullness we have received...(Jn 1:16).

DIMENSIONS OF GRACE
1. Gifts talents, skill to function in a particular endeavor...(Eph 4:10-11), (Exo 31:1-6)
2. Benevolent nature of God that overlooked and took away our sins and shortcomings and gives us what we don't deserve; Mercy and favour is bestowed on us by this dimension of grace...It is also called Saving Grace which is an embodiment of Jesus Christ...(2Cor 8:9), (2 Cor 13:14).
3. Supernatural and divine assistance to operate or function easily in an area where others are struggling with. It is also called the Anointing to function...Acts 10:38, It empowers you to succeed where others failed... We are not equally endued but we can access it through biblical established principles (2Cor. 9:8).

Apostle Paul's testimony in (1Corintians 15:4-10).
NOTE:

1. It does not matter how long one starts, once grace is received, things become easy.

2. There is a place of labour. Grace does not endorse laziness. Hard work does not kill, it is laziness that destroys... He said"I labour more than those before me".

3. Grace makes things easy and easily achieved.

HOW TO ACCESS THE THIRD DIMENSION OF GRACE.

1. Prayer is one of the principles through which God impact grace upon a believer. Jesus Christ received the strength to face the cross through prayer at Gethsemane.

2. By dying to self and being deeply clothed in humility..(1 Pet 5:5) (Gal 2:20).

3. By Sacrifice (2Chro 1:6-12). Solomon made a thousand sacrifice. Abraham...(Gen 22)

4. By Recognising,Respecting and Honouring men that genuinely carry grace in the area you are struggling. (Pro 13:20). (Gen 30:27).
* To honour means to respect, serve, to wait upon, to minister to and to communicate to... Prov 13:20, 2 Kgs 2:5-14, Matt 10:41.
