At only 8 years old, Ashwath Kaushik became the youngest person to beat a chess grandmaster in a classical tournament game last week.

Ashwath, who lives in Singapore but was born in India, practices chess for around seven hours per day.

He beat 37-year-old Jacek Stopa from Poland at the Burgdorfer Stadthaus Open in Switzerland.

I think the kid is just naturally gifted, even his parents have been blown away at their son's success, as neither of them have any background in chess or sports competitions.
