Generative AI, a groundbreaking subset of artificial intelligence, is changing the way businesses operate globally, and Africa is no exception. From content creation to advanced problem-solving, generative AI enables startups to scale faster and innovate more effectively. With Africa’s vibrant tech hubs and entrepreneurial spirit, this technology is unlocking new opportunities while addressing the continent’s unique challenges.

Generative AI refers to AI systems capable of creating new content—text, images, audio, or even code. OpenAI’s tools like ChatGPT and DALL·E have garnered global attention, but their influence is particularly potent in emerging markets like Africa. The continent’s startups, often faced with resource constraints, are embracing these tools to reduce costs, automate processes, and expand their reach. Of all the phenomenons of the new age, there is none quite as explosive as the growth of . What began as a platform for teenagers lip-syncing popular songs and young people partaking in viral dances has transformed into a powerful tool for businesses worldwide. In Nigeria, where mobile internet usage is high and young consumers make up a significant portion of the market, TikTok presents an invaluable opportunity for even the most established brands to rejuvenate their presence and connect with new audiences. Here’s why your longstanding Nigerian company should consider adding TikTok to its marketing strategy.

Access Nigeria’s Next Generation of Consumers

As the world has evolved, younger people are less and less likely to interact , engage and be influenced by traditional media and marketing, and are therefore less likely to notice or purchase a brands goods. TikTok, many businesses have noticed, is an ideal way to dismantle this issue. About 80% of TikTok’s viewership is made up of people below the age of 35, and getting them to view brand content through the application is a good way to catch their attention.

Tiktok is a good way to meet the expectations of these younger audiences, who value authenticity, relatability, and engagement, all of which TikTok’s content style naturally promotes.

As the years have gone by, women across Africa have begun taking charge, leading businesses in various sectors and rewriting the narrative about what they can and can’t achieve. Historically, women have faced more barriers in business—from limited access to funding to societal expectations—but digital marketing is changing that for them.

With the rise of internet access and social media platforms, women-led businesses are finding new ways to grow, reach customers, and compete on a global stage. Here are 7 ways digital marketing is making a difference for women in Africa.

🎯 Leveling the Playing Field

One of the most remarkable things about digital marketing is how it provides the same opportunities it does for women as it does men.  In the past, large advertising campaigns were often out of reach for small businesses, especially those run by women. TV, radio, and print ads were expensive, and funding was hard to secure.

But now, with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Google, women entrepreneurs can promote their businesses with much smaller budgets and still reach large, targeted audiences.

22/10/2024

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to transform various industries, an overwhelming number of tools and applications flood the market, promising to enhance productivity and streamline processes. However, not all AI tools are essential, and some may even complicate workflows more than they help. In this article, we will explore five AI tools that you can do without, focusing on their limitations and offering alternatives that can provide more value.

1. AI-Powered Content Generators
AI content generators, such as Jasper or Copy.ai, can produce articles, blog posts, and marketing copy at the click of a button.

While these tools can save time, their output often lacks depth, originality, and a personal touch. Relying heavily on AI-generated content can dilute brand voice and reduce engagement with your audience.

Why You Can Do Without It:
Quality Over Quantity: Automated content may be quick but often requires significant editing to meet quality standards. This can negate the time-saving benefits.

Loss of Authenticity: Consumers increasingly value genuine and authentic content. AI-generated text can feel formulaic and impersonal.

Obiageli’s path to product management wasn’t a straight line. It began with a yearning for something more, a desire to find a career that resonated with her values and made a real-world impact. “My journey began with a quest to find purpose and value,” she shares. Like many career changers, Obiageli was drawn to the tech industry’s dynamism and its power to shape how we live, work, and interact. But unlike those who assumed tech was synonymous with coding, she discovered the world of product management, a field that perfectly blended her strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills.

“I was captivated by how Product Managers drive the development of products that impact our daily lives,” she explains. This realisation fueled her desire to understand the user’s needs and translate them into tangible solutions. Obiageli’s decision to transition into tech solidified when she recognised the potential to contribute meaningfully, not just as a programmer, but as a driving force behind the products themselves.
