OMD media agency, a subsidiary of Omnicom has maintained its position as the highest-billing media agency in the U.S. in 2023, achieving an estimated total of $9.6 billion, marking a 4.6% increase, as per the final figures from agency research firm COMvergence.

At the group level, Publicis Media continued to lead significantly with $23.9 billion in billings, reflecting a 9.6% rise.

Pernod Ricard , a global wine and spirit group recently celebrated its annual Responsib’All Day, dedicating a day to championing circularity and sustainability initiatives.

In a statement posted on LinkedIn by Sola Oke , its Managing Director for Africa, over 20,000 employees worldwide participated in this year’s edition which primarily focused on driving circularity in their value chains and local communities.

In a series of rapid developments shaking the advertising landscape, the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has appointed Dr. Emmanuel Agu as the new Chairman of the Advertising Standards Panel (ASP), effective July 3, 2024.

This announcement which came in a swift succession after the withdrawal of membership by the Advertisers Association of Nigeria, ADVAN, from Heads of Advertising Sectoral Group, HASG, was made by Winifred Akpan, Head of Corporate Affairs for ARCON.

MTN Nigeria has announced the construction of its West African largest data centre, a facility with a 1,500-rack and Tier 4 data centre within the country. The new data centre will support MTN’s infrastructure and serve as a vital resource for businesses across Nigeria.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Tier 4 data centre is built to be completely fault-tolerant, has redundancy for every component and an expected uptime of 99.995 per cent.

This means it can withstand a wide range of potential disruptions and offers the most reliable infrastructure.

PZ Cussons Nigeria has recorded a net loss of N96.4 billion for the fiscal year ending 31 May, 2024. The losses led the company to post a negative equity of N47.2 billion at the end of the fiscal year, which threatens shareholders’ fund.

The report is contained in the company’s latest unaudited financial statements.

It would be recalled that in March this year, PZ Cussons Holding said it would review its Nigerian operations in order to “reduce risk and maximize shareholders’ value.”

GroupM and Omnicom are locked in a fierce competition to secure Amazon’s extensive media buying and planning account, with incumbent IPG Mediabrands no longer in the running, according to sources within the industry speaking to B&T.
Since 2013, IPG’s media agency Initiative has managed Amazon’s account, defending it successfully in 2017 with its bespoke agency Rufus against Publicis Media. However, the landscape is shifting as the account, valued at over $US2.5 billion ($AU3.75 billion), becomes the most sought-after media planning and buying contract in the advertising world.
The review of the account, first reported by Marketing Brew in September last year, generated significant buzz. Olivier Gaulthier, CEO of media account spend tracking firm COMvergence, dubbed it the “GLOBAL MEDIA PITCH OF THE DECADE!”
