Internet Fraudster Bags Two Years in Abuja:

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured the conviction of one Chima Hyginus Nkwocha, a.k.a "Young Billionaire," for cheating by impersonation and money laundering.
Nkwocha was arraigned before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, on a two-count charge bordering on cheating by impersonation and money laundering.

One of the counts read: "That you, Chima Hyginus Nkwocha (AKA Frank Nils, Frank Cobert, Frank Brown & Chettot), sometime in 2022 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, did fraudulently impersonate Frank Nils, Frank Cobert, Frank Brown, and Chiress Riffatt on Gmail and Google Voice using the Gmail addresses [email protected] and [email protected] with intent to defraud, fraudulently obtaining a cumulative sum of Three Hundred and Forty-Five Thousand Dollars ($345,000) from Linda Wheeler, an American, and receiving the naira equivalent through Ginux Global Nigeria Limited with account No. 1228782493 domiciled in Zenith Bank, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 22(2) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015 and punishable under Section 22(4) of the Act."

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charges when they were read to him.

Following his guilty plea, prosecution counsel, Lanre Adeola Olanrewaju, reviewed the case against Nkwocha and prayed the court to convict him accordingly.

According to Olanrewaju, the convict was arrested in August 2024 at the Lugbe area of Abuja following an intelligence received by the EFCC's Advanced Fee Fraud Section. Items recovered during his arrest included: A black Mercedes Benz ML 350 with registration no. B-2 and Chassis no. 4JGDA5HB9DA105827, two gold necklaces with pendants, one gold bracelet, $2,200 cash, N90,280,934.00 in the Ginux Global Nigeria Ltd Zenith Bank (account no. 1228782493), for which Nkwocha was the sole signatory.

A three-bedroom terrace duplex at Cookies Court 2, 2nd Avenue, Ocean Palm Estate, Ogombo, Sangotedo, Ajah, Lagos, a three-bedroom bungalow and two self-contained apartments situated on Plot B023, Standard Estate, Galadima, Abuja, and a plot of land measuring about 300 square meters at Eko Beach City, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, two Zenith Bank drafts worth N5,000,000 and N3,000,000, dated September 12, 2024, and October 17, 2024, respectively. An iPhone 13 Pro Max, a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, and a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Nkwocha also confessed to impersonating Frank Nils, Frank Cobert, Frank Brown, and Chiress Riffatt using gmail and google voice to defraud Linda Wheeler, an American, of $345,000. He received the naira equivalent through Ginux Global Nigeria Ltd's Zenith Bank account.

Olanrewaju tendered several pieces of evidence, including the defendant's extrajudicial statements, electronic devices, forensic investigation reports, among others . The defence raised no objections and the court admitted all evidence as exhibits.

Justice Nwite, satisfied with the EFCC’s submissions, found Nkwocha guilty. The court sentenced him to two years' imprisonment with an option of a fine of N2,000,000.

Additionally, the court ordered the forfeiture of the following items, being proceeds of crime, to the Federal Government of Nigeria: a black Mercedes Benz ML 350, gold jewelry and $2,200 cash, N90,280,934.00 in the Ginux Global Nigeria Ltd Zenith Bank account, properties in Lagos, Abuja, and Lekki, the Zenith Bank drafts and the electronic devices recovered from the convict.

Nkwocha's journey to the Correctional Centre began when he was arrested for internet fraud. He was charged to court and pleaded guilty to two-count charges raised against him. The court thereafter found him guilty and sentenced him to two years imprisonment. The court ordered the forfeiture of all he fraudulently amassed to the government.

Gun Accident - Priest Arrested:
A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Enyinnaya, has been arrested in Imo State for allegedly shooting a teenage boy d3ad after he threw knockouts inside the church.

The incident happened during the New Year Mass held on January 1, 2025, at St. Columbus Catholic Church in Amaimo, Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state.

A local resident alleged that the priest, in a bid to disperse a group of boys setting off knockouts within the church, fired some shots in the air.

“The gun hooked up and while trying to check the firearm, it accidentally discharged and hit one of the boys,” the resident claimed.

The incident has left the community in shock and mourning, with residents expressing outrage and demanding a thorough investigation to uncover the facts behind the unfortunate event.

The spokesperson for the Imo State Police Command, Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident to LIB, adding that an investigation is ongoing.

“We have launched a detailed investigation to ascertain the remote facts surrounding the incident. Further development on the case will be communicated in due course, please,” the PPRO stated.

In as much as we sincerely believe that Shettima is part of Nigeria's problems, however, during the slavery years, there are blacks who were part of the slave masters, and in some cases, they are worse than the white slave masters. The slaves call them "chocomilo". In other to curve favour from their white slave masters, these chocomilos brutalized their fellow blacks. And this is how we sincerely see Kemi Badenoch.

“I left Jamaica to come to England but one place became another place. I lived in Tulse Hill, in Brixton and Coldharbour Lane. You needed to be strong.

You had to be affiliated with something or someone. I got caught up in it as a lone wolf and the next thing you know, you are affiliated and you have to do stuff. If someone challenges you, you have to uphold your reputation.

Since I came to London, I have had guns in my face and been kidnapped or whatever. In a way, you don't really care at that time.

You accept that this is me, this is what I'm going to do. If it's me or you, I'll do it to you before you do it to me. I never knew any better. I had plenty of scares.

I used to go from Tulse Hill to Kennington on the 159 bus. And at the time, those buses had no doors on them and you could just jump on them and go upstairs. When I was on the bus, I had to duck down on the top deck so no one would see me when I was going through other areas.

Guys would see me sometimes and run on the bus to try and stab me or fight me. I got stabbed a couple of times doing that on the bus. I would have to get off and fight because if these guys cornered me on the bus and there are three of them and it's me alone, I'm definitely going to get stabbed up.

My older brother died and my Mum was saying she didn't want to lose another son. As bad as I was, I never wanted to disappoint my mum. I think my mum's only just finding out I was shot twice because when I was shot, I hid away until it was better and never told her.

I must have watched John Rambo when I was a kid because I sterilised the wound with alcohol and took the bullet out with pliers and laid low for a couple of weeks. When she came to the prison in Bristol, she said, 'Son, we've been through so much in life'. I looked at my mum's face and the tears rolling down her cheeks and I felt bad and I felt ashamed...
..Boxing's not an easy game but it's a lot easier than what was planned out for me in life...It's still a lot easier than sitting in prison for 20 years or being a drug dealer waiting for the next deal to go down to make a hundred quid. Or just being dead.

At least I'm here. It's been a struggle to get where I am but I have got the heart of 10 lions and I refuse to give up. I can still inspire people and change their lives. Winning a world title is part of my ambition but the ultimate goal is to inspire people.

Let people see that it doesn't matter who ripped you off. Never let people put their doubt and their disbelief on you. Believe in yourself, work hard and dedicate yourself. I want a kid to look at me and say, 'You know what, this man had no chance in life, but he stayed in there and he worked hard, he dedicated himself and he did it'.”

5. Problems with the Pancreas

4. COUGH SYRUP
You will wonder why Cough syrups are a best seller in Pharmacies, especially the ones with Codeine. Has various constituents but a lot of people take it like Fanta & mix in drinks

When misused, it can cause:
1. Psychiatry problems like Hallucinations, Delusions
2. Addiction
3. Sudden death

5. IBUPROFEN
Common pain medicine is taken by a lot of people. Common also among the elderly when they say they have "Rheumatism"

When misused, it can cause:
1. Internal bleeding
2. Hypertension
3. Heart attack
4. It can trigger an asthmatic attack
5. Kidney failure
6. Increases your risk of Abortion (controversial)

6. COFFEE
Coffee contains Caffeine it has become like daily water for some people.

When misused, it can cause:
1. Hypertension
2. Sleep problems
3. Anxiety
4. Headache
5. Abnormal beating of the heart
6. Not safe in Pregnancy

7. TETRACYCLINE

Especially when one has a background kidney problem.

9. PARACETAMOL
One of the most available pain killers.
Some people even use it in cooking meat to make Meat tender/soft, which is too wrong. And dangerous for the health.

When Paracetamol is overused, it can cause:

1. Liver damage
2. Kidney damage.

Also, be careful with paracetamol in children.

10. FLAGYL
This is one of the most abused Antibiotics in Nigeria. People take it like they are taking candy bars. Any small diarrhoea, they take it.

Some side effects if abused are:
1. It can reduce the blood cell count.
2. It can damage the brain and nerves
3. Not best safe early in Pregnancy
4. It has a controversial link to Cancer in Animals.

11. ALABUKUN
Alabukun powder contains aspirin and caffeine. A lot of people use it for pain relief, especially bricklayers and heavy-duty workers

Some dangers if abused:
1. Ulcers
2. Bleeding
3. Liver damage
4. Kidney damage
5. Heart attack
6. Hypertension.
7. One can even bleed to death

12. AMPICLOX
It contains Ampicillin and Cloxacillin. It is now a drug people run to 'flush' their system after s*x, abortion or treat so-called "Toilet infections".

Some dangers if abused:
1. Dangerous in people with penicillin allergy. (Bad reactions)
2. Seizures
3. Damage the muscles
4. Kidney problems.

13. CYPROHEPTADINE
The common brand is Cypri Gold. People have abused it, because it can stimulate appetite, in a bid to gain weight.

Some dangers if abused:
1. It can affect blood cells
2. Damage to the liver
3. Cause poor sleep
4. Abnormal handshaking
5. Ringing in ears
6. Mess your me**es up
7. Low blood pressure.

14. LEXOTHAN
One of the most abused drugs by Nigerians in a bid to get good sleep. It sedates

Some dangers if abused:
1. It can be addictive
2. Dizziness and memory problems,
3. Reduce libido,
4. Liver damage

Stopping it suddenly after long abuse is also dangerous (See a Doctor to guide you ).

15. TRAMADOL
Tramadol is meant to be a tightly regulated drug, but sadly in Nigeria even with 50 naira, you can get it on the streets.

Some dangers if abused:
1. Addiction can cut off your breathing
2. Seizures
3. Seeing things not there
4. Headache,
5. Anxiety.
