Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has officially signed the Year 2025 Appropriation Bill into law. The signing ceremony took place today in the Conference Room at Lagos House, Ikeja. The budget, aptly titled “Budget of Sustainability,” has the following breakdown:

At least two lives were lost in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast on Monday in the Kuchibiyu community of Bwari, Abuja.
Initial reports suggested the victims were students, but the FCT Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, clarified that the deceased were two men who died while tampering with the explosive device. A third man and a female trader sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving treatment under police guard.
The FCT Police Bomb Squad has confirmed the explosion was caused by an IED, with remnants of the device recovered from the scene. Meanwhile, Adamu Ashimu, the owner of the affected school, has been taken into custody for questioning.

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed how the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), now rebranded as the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), turned down a $750 million proposal by a consortium led by billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote to manage the Port Harcourt and Kaduna refineries.
In an interview with Channels Television, Obasanjo explained that despite knowing it lacked the capacity to efficiently operate the refineries, the NNPC rejected the offer in 2007. The decision has resurfaced in discussions about the country's oil sector challenges and the quest for sustainable solutions.

Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, has expressed optimism about Nigeria's economic future.
A video shared by the special assistant to Tinubu on social media,Dada Olusegun, on Thursday, Shettima said, "I believe we have turned a corner. Insha Allah, we shall have very robust economic activity in the New Year."

DIG Alabi, two others pull out of Nigeria Police Force
The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), in charge of Southwest geopolitical zone, Abiodun Sylvester Alabi has pulled out of the Nigeria Police Force.
He pulled out alongside Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID), Annex, Lagos, Joshua Ogundele and AIG, Admin (Works), Force Headquarters, Olanrewaju Stephen Olaosebikan.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, said at the Police College in GRA, Ikeja during the pull out that the outgone police scribe ranks are testament to hardwork, dedication and resilience.
“I can attest to their integrity, professionalism and passion for the Nigeria Police which has been the cornerstone of their remarkable service to our nation.
He pulled out alongside Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID), Annex, Lagos, Joshua Ogundele and AIG, Admin (Works), Force Headquarters, Olanrewaju Stephen Olaosebikan.
