NBBF have released D'Tigers
Preliminary roster for the Afrobasket Qualifiers scheduled to take place in Tripoli, Libya, from February 17-24.

The preparation will be in two phases. Home-based players are expected to report to camp at Bentley Hotel, Abuja, on Monday, February 10, for the first phase, which will run until February 16. The foreign-based players will join the selected home-based players in Tripoli, Libya, on February 17 for the final phase and the qualifiers.

The team will be coached by Abdulrahman Mohammed assisted by former Nigerian international Deji Akindele and Isikaku Ikenna Smart, an assistant coach with the Portland Trail Blazers (NBA).

• Phase 1 (Domestic Camp): February 10 – 16, Abuja, Nigeria
• Phase 2 (Final Camp & Tournament): February 17 – 24, Tripoli, Libya

hosted a Women's basketball league in 2024 across Nigeria with home and away games for regional teams across North, South South, South East and the West of Nigeria for six consecutive weeks. Travelling to play one another. Simply incredible to see this in women's basketball.

Eight teams arrived Lagos in January 2025, for the playoffs where Suns academy, Victoria Queens, Divine Speed Academy and Impression Basketball Academy made the final 4.

Victoria Queens were crowned champions going home with a whopping 1 million Naira cash price.

Congratulations to the host team Rivers Hoopers Basketball Club for excellent performance, despite playing in their home court with so much supporter's; which triggered resilient, focus, confidence, energy, cohesion that's top-notch.

However, their unbeaten run continue, from Seven games won during the regular season, Four already in playoffs, heading to the finals tomorrow, if eventually emerge, return to compete in Basketball Africa League; more work need to be done in improving our NBBF Leagues as well as developing Sport in Nigeria and Africa.

Impressively, City Chiefs Basketball proved their worth of experience, skills, talents as title men just like KingsMen, thereby motivating and increasing NBBF fan base both those watching online via YouTube, TV, Radio analysis, reading Social Media updates, Newspapers including the gigantic spectators at No 58, Niger Street, Town venue in Port-harcourt, River State, Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Coach Stanley Gemut tutored side fall-short (58-67) against their Hoops & Read opponents as Oyedeji combined force with Legendary Coach Adewumi aka Owolo, Dosu Messah to deliver the needed tactics for victory.

In summary, Hoops and Read will face the crowd, play KingsMen opponents in a much thrilling, euphoria, reunion, historical, competitive atmosphere tomorrow by 4pm; shortly after 3rd place match between Abuja based; Nile University and Gboko City Chiefs schedule for 2pm in Nigeria time!

However, Azuoma D**e will be forever remembered for his exceptional skills and talents display; also by 3pm today University will face Hoops and Read, where two ex-internationl and D'Tigress teammates: Oyedeji, Gemut proved their worth of experience.

Of course, it will be a score-to-settle between 2023 Basketball Africa League bronze medalist: Rivers Hoopers Basketball against Savannah favorite side led by Coach Ujoh in 2nd Semifinals with Coach Ogoh Odaudu tutored side; who knows the game, play better, will represent NBBF in 2025 BAL!
