BREAKING: US Court Orders Arrest Of DCP Abba Kyari Over Hushpuppi's Bribe
It is now a new trouble for the celebrated Nigeria's cop, Abba Kyari as a US court has ordered the FBI to arrest him following allegations that he received as bribe, proceeds of fraud as contained in the claim made by infamous Nigeria's fraudster, Hushpuppi who is currently on trial in the US.
A judge in the United States district court for the central district of California, Otis Wright, ordered the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI to track down Abba Kyari and produce him in the United States for his role in the multi-million dollar fraud perpetrated by Ramon Abbas, known more as, ‘Hushpuppi,' a notorious Nigerian fraudster who has just pleaded guilty to charges against him in the US court.
EWN recalls that Abbas was arrested in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in June, 2020 and has pleaded guilty to fraud in the U.S., earlier this week. The FBI said Messrs Abbas and Kyari have been friends and were both involved in a conspiracy to launder money.
Kyari, a top police chief and a Northern Muslim in the insecurity-battered West African country has also been indicted of receiving bribes from Abbas to arrest a member of the syndicate in Nigeria.
Judge Wright’s permission for the FBI to arrest Kyari and hold him in U.S. custody was contained in documents, unsealed on July 26.
With the development, Kyari may not be able to travel to the United States and may also restrict his movements to countries around Africa.
