The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced 24 members as Transition Committee to work with the outgoing administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

The information is contained in a response letter signed by Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, APC Chairman, Edo State and addressed to Governor Obaseki. The letter dated October 14, 2024 reads:

“I write to acknowledge the receipt of your letter requesting the Governor-Elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo and the All Progressive Congress (APC), to initiate the formation of a transition team to work with your side.

“We however look forward to a smooth and effective collaboration with our 24-member Committee, headed by Chief Pius Odubu as Chairman, for meaningful discussions that will lead to a seamless transition process.

“Attached herewith is the list Your commitment is highly appreciated.”

The Edo State Government, under Governor Godwin Obaseki, has approved the payment of gratuity to local government staff pensioners who retired in 2011. Commissioner Monday E. O. Osaigbovo confirmed the governor's directive, instructing the State Pension Bureau to conduct screening and payments. This follows a similar approval for 2010 retirees in August 2024. Osaigbovo notified the public, particularly affected pensioners, of this development.

UPDATE: The Libyan government has relented to pressure, granting ValueJet Airline flight clearance and fuel sales approval. While an initial proposal suggested securing Benghazi landing pre-clearance first, the NFF stipulates that clearance from Al-Abraq airport must facilitate direct flights to Nigeria.
