BREAKING: Tribunal Sacks Kano Gov Yusuf, Declares Gawuna Winner

The Kano State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has ordered the withdrawal of certificate of return issued to Govenor Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and directed that the certificate be issued to the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the March 18 election, Dr. Nasir Gawuna.

The Tribunal gave the order in its judgement on the disputed Kano State governorship election Wednesday afternoon.

Amada Ka Alago Magazine reports that the Kano State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal had commenced delivering its judgment via zoom on Wednesday at the Miller Road Kano State High Court complex.

According to Niger Republic's Prime Minister, Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine, General Tchiani gave the green light for talks with ECOWAS and was optimistic the talks with ECOWAS would take place in the next few days.

‘’We have agreed and the leader of our country has given the green light for dialogue. They will now go back and inform the Nigerian President what they have heard from us.... we hope in the coming days, they (ECOWAS) will come here to meet us to discuss how the sanctions imposed against us will be lifted,’’ he said.

1. Military build up and deployment of personnel for military intervention to enforce compliance of the military junta in Niger should they remain recalcitrant

2. Cutting off Electricity supply to Niger Republic

3. Mobilizing international support for the implementation of the provisions of the ECOWAS communique

4. Preventing the operation of commercial and special flights into and from Niger Republic

5. Blockade of goods in transit to Niger especially from Lagos and eastern seaports

6. Embarking on sensitization of Nigerians and Nigerians on the imperative of these actions particularly via social media

7. Closure and monitoring of all land borders with Niger Republic and reactivating of the border drilling excercise.

The Forum of State Chairmen of New Nigeria People’s Party )NNPP) has asked its presidential candidate in the last general election, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to tender his immediate resignation or risk indefinite suspension over his alleged involvement in anti-party activities.

The Forum in a statement by its chairman and leader, Comrade Sunday Oginni accused Kwankwaso of allegedly masterminding crisis in NNPP across the country in a move to hijack the party from the original owners and founding members.
