Shaykh ʿĪsā al-Bayānūnī saw the Prophet ﷺ in his dream and was told: “We have reserved a place for you here in Madīnah!” When the Shaykh reached Madīnah that year, he was ill for three days and then passed away. He is today buried in Jannatul Baqīʾ.
The government has opened his grave numerus times, and every time they have opened it his body was found to be perfectly preserved as if he was just buried.
He did not die as a martyr, but from a normal illness. The scholars have said that the reason why his body was intact is because during his lifetime he wrote a poem which says: “𝐀 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐡̣𝐦𝐚𝐝 ﷺ: 𝐁𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐚̄𝐡, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐭!”
