*THE ABILITY, FAVOUR AND DIRECTION TO PROSPER*

đź“šDeuteronomy 28:3-6

📒 Memory Verse: And…I will bless thee…and thou shalt be a blessing - Genesis 12:2.

There are lots of beautiful definitions for the word “blessing” or the infinitive, “bless”; one of them is the invocation of the ability, favour, and direction to prosper. When you’re blessed, the ability to prosper is invoked in your life; it’s inherent in you and works all the time. You have the ability to succeed, such that anything that concerns you turns out excellently. The invocation of favour means divine favour works in your life in a way that even your detractors are compelled to favour you. Even when you are not interested in certain privileges that are yours, or don’t have enough information to desire them, that divine favour causes them to come to you. How important it is for you to recognise, and walk in this consciousness! The third element in our definition of blessing is the direction to prosper. That’s equally so powerful, because when that’s invoked in your life, you find that you’re always at the centre of God’s perfect will; you go in the right direction, for the right purpose, and at the right time. Even when you don’t have a clue, that divine power of blessing causes you or literally places you in the centre of God’s will.

There are people who always get into trouble; there seems to be something working in them to get them into trouble; but not you! You’re the blessed of the Lord. There’s a divine elixir working in you, that steers you away from trouble and keeps you on the path of life; on the path of divine destiny. When you’re blessed, your steps are always ordered of the Lord. You become a problem solver. Blessings begin to flow as soon as you enter a place! You’re always just on time to be favoured and directed in the way of prosperity. These elements of blessing don’t work sometimes only; they work continuously, without fail. Become conscious that in you are the ability, favour, and direction to prosper, because you’re the blessed of the Lord. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

🙏 Father, I thank you for making me a package of blessings. I decree now that I’ve received the invocation of the ability, favour, and the direction to prosper. My steps are ordered of the Lord; I’m at the right place at the right time, meeting the right people, and doing the right things. I will always be at the centre of God’s perfect will for my life in Jesus Name.

*PRAYER FOR THE WEEK*

đź“šProverbs 8:10-12

đź“’ Memory Verse: And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil - 2 Kings 4:2.

There are those who have become despondent because they lost their job or because their business took a tailspin. Being born again, such things shouldn’t affect you. That you lost something dear doesn’t mean anything, and the reason you lost that very thing isn’t so important either. What should matter to you is what we call, “divine positioning.”

Recall what we read about Joseph in our preceding study; he was a slave. He wasn’t receiving a salary, because slaves aren’t paid a salary. However, the Bible says, “Joseph was a prosperous man,” even as a slave (Genesis 39:2). He didn’t have to have a salary to be prosperous. He was the seed of Abraham, and that was all that was necessary. He had his dream in front of him, and he knew who he was. He functioned in divine grace. There’s no disadvantage for you as a child of God. You’ve been divinely positioned for greatness in life. Romans 8:28 declares, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Nothing happens to you or with you by chance. Where you are right now; that situation in which you find yourself, is where your answer is. Don’t wish you had the capital or anything else.

In our theme verse, Elisha asked the widow, “… what hast thou in the house?” With the little pot of oil she had, she became an oil distributor overnight. Praise God! All the capital you need is in your mind. All the advantage you need is Christ in you. Therefore, look to the Holy Spirit in you; trust Him for guidance and direction and do whatever He tells you. He’ll cause His blessing to come on it, and it’ll blossom beyond your dreams.

PRAYER:

🙏 Father, thank you for the comfort in your Word. You’ve blessed the works of my hands and set me on the path of permanent success and prosperity. I’m flourishing like the cedar in Lebanon. I pray for your children around the world today who are faced with diverse challenges; they prevail by the Spirit, in Jesus’ Name.

*HIS STRENGTH FOR YOUR WEAKNESS*

đź“š Psalm 103:1-5

📒Memory Verse: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness…”-2 Corinthians 12:9

As you serve the Lord, you should know that He never allows you to burn out or wear out. He renews your strength. Isaiah 40:30-31 puts it beautifully; it says, “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Hallelujah!

The Hebrew word translated “renew” above literally means “to bring back to life.” The picture is of an axed tree that’s expected to die but suddenly revives. It’s a kind of transformation where “death” is replaced with a new life; weakness is replaced with strength. One of its synonyms is “substitute” or “exchange.” Thus, your weakness is exchanged for His strength. No wonder Paul said in Colossians 1:29, “Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.” So, it’s about His divine strength at work in you.

Also, in 2 Corinthians 3:5-6, he said our competence (Greek: Hikanotes)—the ability with which we function as able ministers of the Gospel—is divine and not human: “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament….” This is God’s plan; He gives power and strength to the weak (Isaiah 40:29). With Him, you never run out of might and inspiration. It brings to mind the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:16: “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”

As a labourer with the Lord, working for and together with Him, there’s a renewal of your strength. You’re constantly refreshed and rejuvenated by the Spirit of God to be afire, inspired and full of joy as you serve Him. Be conscious of this.

PRAYER

🙏 Blessed Father, thank You for constantly refreshing and rejuvenating me by Your Spirit. I decree that I am inspired and full of joy to serve the Lord. I’m strong in the grace of Jesus Christ, competent and ready for every good work. God is the strength of my life. These words I decree by faith, in Jesus Name.

*GLORY NOT IN SELF*

đź“• Isaiah 14:12-17, and Luke 18:10-13

🌟Memory Verse: “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”– Matthew 23:12

To glory in self is to exalt one’s own worth above what it really is. It is the act of perceiving yourself as overly important. A person who glories in self is a person who thinks he stands on his own merits and by his own power. This is the reason why the father of lies, Satan, was cast down from heaven. Indeed, Satan is a classic example of someone who gloried in self. He exalted himself above what he really was, and he started to think of himself as better than everyone else, including God. Glorying in self has its roots in self-deception; it starts when a man deceives himself into thinking and believing in a false idea of himself.

Glorying in self might not be obvious at first. It is a very dangerous character flaw that sometimes creep in on children of God until it leads them to doom. What then are the signs that a person glories in self? One indicator is when you feel the need to parade in public what should and can be done in private. This was one of the issues Jesus had with the Pharisees. They would rather pray in public than pray behind closed doors, and when they fasted, they ensure that it showed on their faces, just so that everyone knew they were fasting. Even today, some people ensure that every good thing they do is done from the rooftops, so that people will see and praise them. In addition, people who glory in self tend to talk about themselves a lot. This is majorly because they feel the need to constantly list out their accomplishments and achievements. They are always quick to say “I” even when “we” is the approximate thing to say. People who glory in self honestly feel that they are better than everyone else.

Luke 18:10-13 shows a clear difference between a self-glorying person and a humble person. When humble people see themselves as needing God’s grace and mercy, self-glorying people think that their actions are perfect enough to dignify them before God and man. A self-glorying person will never get anything from God. Only a person who recognises his or her need for God’s help and asks for it will get it. Glorying in self is very dangerous because at the end of the day, every single thing that the person thinks he or she has accomplished will be taken away, and shame, disappointment and humiliation will be the portion of such a fellow.

PRAYER

🙏 Father, please remove every trace of self-glory in me in Jesus Name.
