I'm sorry for judging you wrongly just because of your body odour(seasoning aroma).

The first time i perceived your aroma, i hated you and openly condemned you instantly without even making any effort to have a personal dealing with you. I won't lie, i really spoke badly of you, even though i did not really know you.

I judged your personality based on the impression your body odour gave me and did not want to have anything to do with you, not until last night when the narratives changed.

I was on my own in my room when they announced your arrival and called my attention and as usual, i started condemning your body odour immediately i came out. Of course, i wasn't even interested in touching you but somehow, i just looked into the pot and there you were, lying so yummy in the pot, smiling at me. Such a beautiful personality you have!

Tempted like Eve, I saw that you were pleasing to the eyes and I thought, "let me just take one spoonful and see.."

Then i took just a spoonful, only one spoonful and i forgot my pride and my h&tred for you. I took another spoonful and that was how i fell in love with you.

This afternoon like this, i have eaten you again and, my oh, my! Dear, Supreme, you're such a unique personality.

My experience with you just thought me again, never to judge a book by its cover, abi judge any food by its aroma..😁

Ladies,

Stop getting married to men who cannot afford marriage. Poverty is real and a man who loves you would try to get enough to take care of the basics from day one. Love is not enough for marriage.

Stop getting married to complete strangers you know nothing about. You cannot know it all but you need to know enough to make you feel comfortable including the ability to interact without tension, aligning goals, direction and values. You are allowed to interact, you are allowed check for the things you desire to know. Don’t pass up the chance to do so in the desperation and rush to be married. Don’t rush in to rush out.

Stop relying on others to do the findings for you, find out yourself. The uncles and families cannot care about you like you’d care about yourself hence cannot do the findings better than you. Also, times are different, don’t expect a friend of the person to be completely honest with you. Birds of the same feather move together and one is unlikely to cast the other.

Stop getting married to students and unemployed individuals who are still being taken care of by their families. They would come at you saying marriage is better than Zinah, offering you nothing and themselves, the whole of you. Yes marriage is better than Zinah but marrying wrong is also worse than waiting to do it right. If he cannot afford accommodation, feeding, clothing, security and basic welfare on his own and he is telling you about marriage then that tells you something about his priorities, honesty and seriousness with life.

Have goals yourself and stop jumping into marriage without any means. There are several men out there today who would take advantage of your needs as a control measure and tool of manipulation. You cannot leave yourself that vulnerable in a society where it is becoming the norm to hear of women whose individualities have been lost due to marriage.

Understand, that marriage is not a concentration camp and you have options in life. Perseverance is key but an abusive marriage is no achievement to chase. Other than children, many women are trapped because they cannot afford the cost of leaving. At least guard against that.

That a person seems religious doesn’t mean the person is of good character. A lot of things are just cosmetic and many are masters at pretending.

Develop yourself and add independent knowledge too. Knowledge is power and you are less likely to be a victim of mis-sold religion if you at least understand what it says on your own.

Marriage is not slavery. Many of the women around you urging you to jump in wrong today are hiding things you cannot imagine. The reason they cannot tell the younger ones the truth is still questionable (indeed, some are that trapped in voiceless situations) but please, don’t wait on that because you are an adult yourself, nobody owes you their truth. Protect yourself by preparing yourself.
