*THURSDAY, 16 JANUARY*
*TEXT: GENESIS 12:1-9*
*TOPIC: THE JOURNEY OF FAITH*

*GENESIS 12:1-9 NIV*

1:The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

2:“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

3:I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

4:So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran.

5:He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Harran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there.

6:Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land.

7:The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

8:From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord.

9:Then Abram set out and continued toward the Negev.

*THE JOURNEY OF FAITH*

The call of Abraham at the age of seventy-five years was one of the most difficult adventures anyone could have embarked on. Moving to an unknown terrain at that age did not at all seem lika wise and promising move. But Abraham decided to obey God and he moved by faith.

The secret of Abraham's faithful obedience is easily noticed from the many altars he built as he traveled through the land - Abraham was a great worshiper of God.

If we want to be able to live and move in faithful obedience to God, we must, like Abraham, spend much time in fellowshipping and worshipping the Lord.

*QUESTION:* Do you spend enough time in fellowship with and worship of God?

*PRAYER:* Oh Lord, help me to spend adequate time in fellowship with You and worshipping You, in Jesus' name. Amen.

*WEDNESDAY, 15 JANUARY*

*TEXT: GENESIS 11:1-9*

*TOPIC: PRIDE, MAN'S GREATEST UNDOING*

After the flood, in Genesis 9:1-2, "Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, 'Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth."

As the people increased in population, pride set in and they expressly disobeyed God. They said to each other 'Come' instead of obeying the command of God to 'Go' and spread throughout the earth. They also said, "Let us make a name for ourselves," instead of glorifying glorifying the name of God.

Their desire and effort to build a tower whose top upreaches heaven was a desire and effort to prove they were equal to God, or even to overthrow God. That was pride at work and it remains the greatest undoing of men today.

*QUESTION:*
Are you proud, always seeking to promote yourself instead of glorifying God?

*PRAYER:*
Oh Lord, give me the grace to be humble and not proud in order to always glorify You, in Jesus' name. Amen.

*TEXT: GENESIS 9:18-28*

*TOPIC: THE DANGER OF ALCOHOL*

A company conducted an interview to get a driver for its Chief Executive. One question that the three top candidates were asked was, "How close do you think you can drive near a cliff without falling off using your driving skills?"

The first driver said he could only go as near as half a meter and not more. The second driver boasted that he could go just five inches near and not fall off. The third driver simply said he would not venture driving near any cliff.

The third driver got the job because the company was not ready to risk the life of its Chief Executive by hiring a driver who believed he could take risks simply because he was so skillful at driving.

The story of Noah we read today is enough for us never to take the risk drinking alcohol, no matter how small, so as to avoid getting dunk, resulting in shame, pain and suffering for ourselves and our love ones.

*QUESTION:* Do you risk drinking alcohol?

*PRAYER:* Oh God, help me to stay totally away from drinking alcohol, in Jesus' name. Amen.

*MONDAY, 13 JANUARY*

*TEXT: GENESIS 9:1-17*

*TOPIC: THE SIGN OF THE RAINBOW*

After the flood judgment, God promised that He would never destroy the world with a flood like He had done. He gave the rainbow as a sign of this promise or covenant. Very sadly and unfortunately, the rainbow has been adopted today as the logo of the very perverse and ungodly so-called LGBTQ+ movement.

We must all be warned that though God promised not to destroy the world by flood again, He has warned that next time, He will destroy the world by fire! (2 Peter 3:10-13) And at the end time judgment, all those whose names are not found written in the Lamb's book of life shall be banished to eternity in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15).

*QUESTION:* Are you saved and living a righteous life?

*PRAYER:* Oh God, I pray for the grace to live a righteous life in order to escape the coming judgment by fire, in Jesus' name. Amen.

*SUNDAY, 12 JANUARY*

*TEXT: GENESIS 8:1-22*

*TOPIC: GOD REMEMBERED NOAH AND HIS FAMILY*

After forty days of the flood judgment upon the earth, God remembered Noah and His family in the ark and began to bring the judgment to an end by causing the flood from beneath, and rain from above to stop, such that the flood began to recede.

We all are fallen sinful people, living in a fallen sinful world. Where we are convicted that we have sinned and are undergoing discipline as a result, let us cry out to God for mercy and He would remember us as He did Noah and His family during the judgment of the flood.

*QUESTION:*
Are you being disciplined for your sins?

*PRAYER:*
Oh God, I pray that You would remember me and in judgment, remember mercy, in Jesus' name. Amen.

*SATURDAY, 11 JANUARY*

*TEXT: GENESIS 7:1-24*

*TOPIC: GET READY FOR THE COMING FLOOD*

In the time of Noah, the flood came from the ground and from above and destroyed the earth. Much later, a new kind of flood was prophesied by Habakkuk for the end times that we are very quickly approaching.

The prophet declared that at the end of the age, when the Lord shall ultimately bring the present world system to an end by fire, "the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea."

(Habakkuk 2:14) In the coming End Time Revival, people shall be filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit from within, and at the same time, God shall pour forth the anointing of the Holy Spirit from above.

Instead of the death and destruction caused by the flood during the time of Noah, the end time anointing and revíval shall result in the world seeing a marvelous manifestation of the glory of God never seen before in the lives of His children, believers in Christ Jesus.

*QUESTION:* Are you prepared for the coming flood of the Holy Spiritand Hisglory?

*PRAYER:* Oh God, sanctify and prepare me for the coming flood of the Holy Spirit and Your glory, in Jesus'name. Amen.

*TEXT: GENESIS 6:9-22*

*TOPIC: ONLY THE NEW COVENANT CAN SAVE NOW*

God entered into a covenant with Noah and his family that those who enter the Ark would be the only ones saved from the flood.

In the present times, the ark is Jesus, and only those who enter the new covenant through Him (Hebrews 9:15), by His shed blood on the cross of Calvary, will be saved from the coming destruction of the world by fire (2 Peter 3:8-13).

Noah was saved because he did everything commanded by God, and you would be saved if you are yet to, when you do what God has commanded for you to be saved.

Romans 10:9-13 says, "if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

*QUESTION:* Are you saved?

*PRAYER:* Oh God, move among us by Your Holy Spirit and ensure that we are saved, in Jesus' name. Amen.

*TEXT: GENESIS 6:1-8*

*TOPIC: FAVOUR IN THE MIDST OF TOTAL UNGODLINESS*

Man is totally depraved and sinful state. Man in his natural state is totally sinful, wicked and evil such that there is no good in him. And that includes us all.

Everyone, without exception, in his or her natural state, is capable of unimaginable sin, wickedness and evil. Jeremiah 17:9-10 says, "The heart is the most deceitful thing there is and desperately wicked. No one can really know how bad it is!"

If not for the general grace of God that restrains sin, wickedness, and evil (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12), and the coming of Christ and consequent work of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of men and women who put their faith in Him as Savior and Lord, this world would have been ripe for destruction like the time of Noah several times over!

Nevertheless, no matter the multiplication and intensity of sin, wickedness, and evil, if we remain faithful to God in this increasingly sinful, wicked, evil, and godless world, we shall experience His favor like Noah.

*QUESTION:*
Have you accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and have been born again or are you still in your natural sinful, wicked, evil and godless state?

*PRAYER:*
Oh God, help us all realize that in our natural state, we are sinful, wicked, evil and godless. Grant the grace to as many as are yet to repent and accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. Amen.

*TEXT: GENESIS 4:13-25*

*TOPIC: SIN, THE GREATEST TRAGEDY*

The greatest tragedy of sin is preventing us from being in the presence of God. Right from the onset, when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit and sinned against God, when they heard God's footsteps, they ran away from His presence. And as sin matured, as we see in the case of Cain, man ran further and further away from God's presence.

Thanks, praise, and glory be to God, however, that through Christ, the Living Way, we can return and abide in God's presence.

Hebrews 10:19-23 says, "Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body.. let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, havíng our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water:"

*QUESTION:* Are you running away from God because of one sin or another?

*PRAYER:* Oh Lord, grant me the grace to confess and forsake any sin that would keep me away from Your presence, in Jesus' name. Amen.

*TUESDAY, 7 JANUARY*

*TEXT: GENESIS 4:1-12*

*TOPIC: OFFER THE ABEL SACRIFICE*

God did not reject Cain's sacrifice because his was fruits of the soil, but because he was careless with his offering and did not bring the best of God's blessings upon him for sacrifice. Cain simply brought just some of the fruit of the soil.

On the other hand, God did not accept Abel's offering because they were of animals, but because Abel was careful enough to offer unto God the very best of God's blessings upon his life. He gave God fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. Of course, God was pleased with Abel's offering and displeased with Cain's, and Cain became jealous of Abel.

Ask God for the grace to offer Him your best so that you could not be jealous of those God is pleased with.

*QUESTION:*
Are you offering God the Abel sacrifice, your very best of His spiritual, physical and material/financial blessings upon my life?

*PRAYER:*
Oh Lord, grant me the grace to always offer the Abel sacrifice to You, in Jesus' name. Amen.

*TEXT: GENESIS 3:8-24*

*TOPIC: STOP THE BLAME GAME*

Adam blamed God for giving him Eve. Eve blamed the serpent for deceiving her. The blame game started with our ancestors in the Garden of Eden and has continued to this very day!

We keep looking for someone we can blame for our shortcomings, irresponsibility, and outright sin against God. As often said, old habits hardly die, but they can in Jesus' name.

If we sin, there is no need to resort to the old blame game. Let us simply take responsibility, confess to God, and repent.

1 John l:8-10 says, "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

*QUESTION:* Are you blaming someone else for your shortcomings, irresponsibility and sins?

*PRAYER:* Oh God, help me to admit, confess and repent from my sins rather than blaming someone else, in Jesus' name. Amen.

*TOPIC: JOBLESSNESS IS NOT GOD'S PLAN*

Even before the fall of man from grace into sin, God had intended that man would work and take care of His creation, albeit without any suffering or pain.

God created man to work as an act of worship to Him, and till date, when a man deliberately fails to work or becomes lazy, he begins to die.

Joblessness is not God's plan for anyone; it is the consequence of our fallen sinful state. God's good plan for you is to provide you with work to do. Ask Him, and He will.

*QUESTION:* Do you need work?

*PRAYER:* Oh God, I realize that it is not Your plan for me to have no work. Please provide me with work to do so that I can worship and honor You through it, in Jesus' name. Amen.

*TEXT:GENESIS 1:26-31*

*TOPIC: THE UNIQUENESS OF MAN*

The life of a human being is sacred because man was made by God in His very image. This does not mean that man resembles God physically, but that man was made with intellect, will, and emotions.

All other creatures created by God may have one or two of the attributes, but none have all three. For example, many animals have very high intellect and emotions, but no will to decide good or bad, only instinct.

The sanctity of human life must therefore be preserved by all means. Man was also made to rule over all other God's creation, and plants and fruits were his food, which meant that there was no bloodshed!

Even in the present fallen sinful state of man, human being are still working hard at conquering and dominating nature as much as possible.

Medical professionals tell us that the best and most healthy diet for man remains fresh vegetables and fruits as much as possible, the original diet of God for man.

*QUESTION:* How can you help in maintaining the sanctity of human life and keep this earth and your very life as healthy as possible?

*PRAYER:* Oh God, please help in maintaining the sanctity of human life by preventing abortion and other senseless murders and killings for whatsoever reason. Guide me in the use of earth's resources and to eat more healthily, in Jesus' name. Amen.
