Recent Pi KYC improvements unblocked a large scale number of Pioneers to submit their KYC or proceed in their KYC process. Read updates above that include enabling over 1 million people to apply, resubmissions for some rejected applications, resolving tentative KYC status, and other fixes for blocked submissions. Upcoming enhancements will address name mismatches, provide scalable tentative status resolution and further streamline the process. We’re excited to introduce Pi Node Version 0.5.0, an important update preparing Nodes for the Mainnet blockchain.
With this update, Pi Nodes will transition to the Testnet2 blockchain, which tests switching between blockchains, allowing Node runners to transition smoothly to the Mainnet once it’s available. Additionally, Testnet2 provides a more compatible and comparable environment that Nodes will experience on the Mainnet blockchain.
Nodes may continue using the original Testnet for now, but this blockchain will soon be closed for Nodes to use. Testnet will continue functioning as normal for Pioneers and Pi app developers—no actions are needed at this time, ensuring that Pi apps can maintain stability and performance without requiring extra work from Pi apps developers.
This allows easier future resets of Testnet2 that only affect Nodes, and won’t affect Pioneers and Pi apps that continue using the original Testnet.
If you run a Node and have not automatically updated to the new version, please download the updated Pi Node version here.

Impact on Open Network

As stated in the last Node update, Nodes are at the heart of decentralization for the Pi blockchain—accessible to any Pioneer with a computer connected to the internet—and their progress is vital for achieving Pi Network’s vision as we progress towards Open Network in 2024.
Node 0.5.0 means we’re getting closer to realizing the utility of our 200,000+ strong network of Nodes, unleashing their potential for the benefit of all Pioneers and the wider world.

Well, guys, the Hamster Combat did get listed today.

And the result was far from what everyone expected. This is a vivid example of why it is important to be attentive to projects, and not blindly tap everything that appears on the horizon. Many people rushed into this project, but the outcome was disappointing.

🧠 I always say - your time and resources are invaluable. Spend them wisely, don't rush into every new project. Especially in crypto, where every step can play an important role in the future. Remember, not everything that looks attractive on the surface is worth your investment.

This extension gives Pioneers more time to complete KYC, while the final deadline of Grace Period to complete Mainnet migration remains unchanged on December 31, 2024. The number pi (π) appears in the most unlikely places. It can be found in circles, of course—as well as in pendulums, springs and river bends. This everyday number is linked to transcendental mysteries. It has inspired Shakespearean thought puzzles, baking challenges and even an original song. And pi keeps the surprises coming—most recently in January 2024, when physicists Arnab Priya Saha and Aninda Sinha of the Indian Institute of Science presented a completely new formula for calculating it, which they later published in Physical Review Letters.

Saha and Sinha are not mathematicians. They were not even looking for a novel pi equation. Rather, these two string theorists were working on a unifying theory of fundamental forces, one that could reconcile electromagnetism, gravity and the strong and weak nuclear forces. In string theory, the basic building blocks of the universe are not particles, such as electrons or photons, but rather tiny threads that vibrate like the strings of a guitar and in so doing cause all visible phenomena. In their work, Saha and Sinha have investigated how these strings could interact with each other—and accidentally discovered new formulas that are related to important mathematical quantities.
