“In my opinion, Obi should have been the candidate and Kwankwaso the running mate. This is not about age or who is older. With what is on ground now, Peter Obi is more competent, and we have had eight years of a northerner being a president, so it’s only fair for the presidency to move to the other part of the country to maintain a balance.

If they win the election, with the current arrangement, it would go back to the North and Kwankwaso could contest. Also, if you look at it in terms of the reach right now, Peter Obi has a wider reach than Kwankwaso. It’s my opinion and others could have theirs.

Given the critical times we are in, it’s not to say he (Kwankwaso) would collapse his structure. We are already telling people to vote for candidates, not the political party.

People who already won the party’s ticket for other positions like state and national assemblies and governorship would still fly the party’s flag. If they are competent persons, people would still vote for them. At the end of the day,

Boris Johnson Quits - But Remains For Now

Boris Johnson has officially announced his resignation as British Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative Party, but added that he will remain as interim Prime Minister until Tories vote in a new leader.

While he didn’t set a specific timeframe for his replacement, he insisted it was “the greatest job in the world” - and blamed the “herd mentality” in Westminster for forcing him out.

The outgoing PM also noted that the UK government was going to support Ukraine even after he is out of office.

Passionate Enugu-based Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has declared that the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, can never become Nigeria’s president.

Mbaka, who made the declaration at his Adoration Ministry ground in Enugu, said unless God ceases to exist, Obi would never lead Africa’s most populous nation as it better to have an old man as president than a ‘stingy young man’.

“A stingy man that cannot give people his money, with this hunger ravaging the land, and you are saying he is the one you want; you want to die of hunger? Are you people insane? Where is the Holy Spirit?

“It is now that [PDP candidate Abubakar] Atiku is seriously contesting for president; now that he is contesting without Peter Obi; it is now that he is serious. We want somebody that is serious. Unless Peter comes here to kneel, if he becomes president, he will close down this ministry. What we are doing is spiritual,” said Mbaka.

“Listen, a good old man is better than a young wicked man. Peter Obi is going nowhere as far as God lives. If Igbos want a representative, it is not someone like Peter Obi.

“I should not have talked but I saw my video going round everywhere as if Fr. Mbaka wholeheartedly came out and apologized. No, I didn’t apologize wholeheartedly, it was out of duress. I had to obey my Bishop, in obedience I had to; it is not of my volition. I did it because I am a Catholic priest. My Bishop said, ‘do it’, my own is ‘Yes my Lord’.

“I did not say he is a bad man; I said he is a stingy man. A hungry man wants someone that is generous; the man has so much money, but he is ‘I, me, myself’. But that money will not be useful to him. I am very happy now that I have spoken out. That apology is a poisonous curse against Peter Obi.

“If he is wise he should have come here after that apology to say he is sorry but he waited. Anybody supporting him is wasting his money, he is going nowhere."

Russia Made $98BN in Fuel Exports in First 100 Days of Ukraine Conflict

Over 60% of orders – around $60bn - came from EU fossil fuel imports, according to a report by the independent, Finland-based Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) Monday.

Kiev has called on Western countries to sever all trade with Moscow in the hopes of cutting off its financial lifeline in the wake of the February 24 military operation.

Earlier this month, the EU agreed to halt most Russian oil imports. Although the bloc aims to reduce gas shipments by two-thirds this year, an embargo is not on the cards at present.

The top importers were China at $13.2bn, Germany $12.7bn and Italy $8.2bn.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had on Thursday affirmed the former governor of Anambra, as the authentic presidential candidate of Labour Party, following the emergence of his former aide, Jude Ezenwafor as a factional presidential candidate.
