Dear Sisters,

I've been married for ten years with 3 children. My husband is a Pilot and he shuttles the UK and Ghana because of his work. My husband just visited and I went through his phone and found out that he has a side chick who is pregnant. Pregnancy is not the issue here.

The side chick is threatening my husband to send her abroad because he usually sends the kids and me for holidays abroad. She says if he refuses her request, she will tell me about the pregnancy and my husband is trying to calm her down because he doesn't want me to know he has a girlfriend. The truth is that the baby doesn't belong to my husband. How do I know this? Hmm.

My husband can't father a child but he doesn’t know. After two years of marriage, there was no sign of pregnancy. We went for tests and that’s where I found out that he was shooting blanks. I knew that the news would break him so I begged the doctor who was my friend that he shouldn’t tell him the truth. I’m not proud about this but I started cheating with my side boo who doubles as my ex. Hence, the three children belong to him.

Now back to the issue, this side chick is trying to give another man's pregnancy to my husband. I want to put her in her place without implicating myself. If I keep quiet, she will drain my husband. How do I handle this?

I need tactical advice on how to handle this situation.

Zika The Mermaid–Final Episode.
.. My heart started to beat faster following every dive as I approached home. As soon as some mermaids who stood by the entrance of the palace saw me, they all sprinted into the palace without saying even a word to me. Their actions didn't surprise me, in fact, I had expected more than that act from them.

I swam into the palace and there Dad was with folded arms, standing before the palace. As soon as he saw me, he stretched his arm towards me and I got startled immediately, unable to swing my b0dy. And then, my whole b0dy became numb. I became very weak all of a sudden, while my hands started to tremble but no, I wasn't going to let Derrick fall off my arms. I held onto him with my last strength, while tears started to drip down my face. Dad then swam towards me with arms behind him, and then landed a slap on my face.

"Zika, you're a d!sgrace to the merfolk. You att@cked the guards I sent to save you, to save a human instead. You will remain this way until the day of your wedding. No food, no water, and you've also lost the ability to swing your b0dy. You will be here till I think of what to do with him" He said with in his voice.

I knew I was going to be free again before my wedding , somehow, but didn't know how. Dad left me there with Derrick in my arms, and left into the palace. My strength was beginning to fail me, but I still held onto him. If I had dropped him, the guards would have taken him into the palace and probably lock him up. So I needed to protect him. Mermaids and mermen were passing me by with eyes glued to me, but none of them could provide help and in the midst of all this, Mom was nowhere to be found.

I was there for hours till late in the night, weak, tired and famished. I tried moving my b0dy but all efforts proved abortive. And after a few more hours, I saw Mom sneaking out of the palace entrance door.

"Your father wouldn't let me come out, I would have since been here. I sneaked out when I noticed that he was fast asleep after many hours of being awake" She said as soon as she approached me.

"I need to help save this human in my arms" I said in a faint tone.

"I don't have any problem with you saving him. But, what about food? So you can at least have a little strength for the task ahead" She said.

I managed to open my mouth again and then looked at her.

"What task ahead?" I quizzed.

She turned and looked around, then opened her palm to reveal something she had been holding in a tight grip.

"Look, I brought this antidote for you. After taking it, you will feel every part of your b0dy again. Take the human to the old sea turtle, tell him I sent you " She said opening the little bottle of the antidote.

She made me open my mouth, and then she emptied the content in my throat and all of a sudden, I started to feel myself from my tail up. As soon as I regained myself, I swam speedily out of there heading straight to the old sea turtle's abode. He was already before his shelter with his gaze fixed.

"Bring him" He said, with gaze still fixed without asking me any question.

But, I opened my mouth instead to at least tell him why I was there but he seemed uninterested in whatever I had to say, as he raised his hand signaling me to keep mute.

He raised Derrick's shirt slowly and then touched the wound, Derrick je**ed back to life all of a sudden in my arms. I stood him on his feet immediately as he began to turn and look around.

"What? Where am I? " He questioned looking around.
"Where's this place? Who are you? What am I doing here" He asked panting so hard, and I told him who I was and everything that happened.

"What? I'm in your world? Please don't hurt me, just take me out of here" He pleaded rubbing both palms together.

The old sea turtle that I was told in a tale was a w!tch, became one of the nicest sea creatures to me. He even gave Derrick some precious stones when we were about to leave, and I won't forget what he told us.

"Never judge people based on what you heard from others about them" He said with hands behind him, walking out slowly.

Derrick opened his palm, looked at the precious stones, and then let out a smile.

"Thank you " He muttered still smiling.

Well, I took him out of there, ushering him out of the water.

"Thank you, Princess Zika" He said with a smile standing offshore.

I nodded sporadically, dropping a tear. I was so happy to see him alive and well again. I turned swiftly, and swam beneath the water, journeying home. I was ready for whatever my father the king was going to do to me, in fact I was ready for any of his discipline.

As soon as I reached, I saw every mermaid and mermen gathered outside the palace.

"What is it again this time?" I asked myself in whispers.

"Zika, come here" Dad said in a very tone.

"Uh oh!!!" I exclaimed, and then swam to him.

"Lock her up!" Dad ordered and my eyes popped open immediately.

"No, Dad please, I'm sorry. But, you taught us to provide help when needed. The human was dy!ng so I had to help. I swear, I will turn a new leaf from today. I promise to change, Father. No more messing around and no more sneaking out. I'm so sorry for all the pain I've caused you" I said with teary eyes.

"To prove to me that you have indeed changed, you must get married to Lauren tomorrow morning" He said.

"Yes, I will" I said with a smile.

The following day, Lauren and I wedded in a grand style, and Father built us our own castle.

After a month, I told Lauren I wanted to secretly visit Dorin and Derrick and he agreed. I went to Derrick's place, making myself invincible. Their wedding pictures were hanging everywhere on the wall, and I became so happy and fulfilled. I left a precious stone I had come with on the living room table, and I left with my shoulders held high.

Zika The Mermaid–Episode 8
.. "How dare you ?" I roared like a wounded lion, still backing them. A roar so loud that could even be heard all around the sea.

"Cease fire! Cease fire!! It's Zika!!!" Bishak screamed all of a sudden.

I turned back, now facing them. I was so full of and r@ge that I stretched my hand towards them and the water before them arose so high, and covered Bishak and the rest of the mermen up.

"How dare you ?" I roared again.

"Zika, please help" I heard all of a sudden, a voice so soothing that penetrated deep into my heart, calming me down all of a sudden. It was that of Dorin.

I turned back swiftly, swam out of the water and went straight to Derrick who was lying almost lifeless by the water. I don't possess the power to revive a human, only my father the King does. Dorin was in tears with hands on his chest, shaking the almost lifeless b0dy so hard.

"I can't revive him, I do not possess the power to bring him back. He was struck by an arrow given to the mermen by the old sea turtle, a sea w!tch. I really don't know how I'm going to help bring him back" I said, standing beside the almost lifeless b0dy.

"Let's take him to the hospital" She said.

"What?! Where's that?!!" I asked cos I had never heard such word before.

"A place where he'll be treated and be well" She said in between sobs.
"Please, help me carry him to the car" She added trying to carry him up.

I was about asking her what she meant by a "car" when I heard the sounds of water.

I looked back immediately, it was Bishak trying to swim away from there. I bent down all of a sudden and carried Derrick singlehandedly in my arms, I was about dashing out of there when I heard Bishark's scream.

"You betrayed us Zika, your father must hear this" He said at the top of his voice while swimming away.

I sprinted away carrying Derrick in my arms while Dorin ran after me. I even ran past Derrick's small house with legs when I started to hear Dorin's voice from afar.

"Bring him into the car! Bring him into the car!!"

I paused all of a sudden and then looked back.

"What?" I quizzed.

"Bring him into the car" She said again opening the door of the small house. I rushed back to the small house and then dropped him in it.

"Sit, let's take him to the hospital" She said in a hurry.

I looked at myself and then asked her.

"Like this?"

"Zika please sit, we need to take him to the hospital" Dorin yelled at me.

Well, I sat in what I thought was a small house with eyes still glued to my own b0dy. I had never been to where we were going, I didn't want any human to start staring at me when they see me. Like Dorin totally forgot that I was a mermaid and not a human.

As soon as we reached, Derrick was rushed into a very big building by some humans white who didn't see me or notice me. I didn't come out of the uhm... car, I remained inside but Dorin came out and followed them in but after like an hour, Derrick was brought back by the same humans who took him in while Dorin followed from behind in tears. They were putting him in the car when one of the humans saw me all of a sudden.

"A mermaid! It's a mermaid!!" She screamed with a hand pointing at me.

Dorin hurried into the car cos humans were beginning to run outside from the building when the human wouldn't stop screaming, and we drove out of there.

We left there to two other uhm... hospitals but they couldn't treat him, and I made sure that my tail was properly covered with the veil I losened from my waist. The three hospitals we went all said that his case wasn't ordinary. On our way from the third hospital, Dorin parked all of a sudden in the middle of the road and started to shed tears.

"Zika what do we do? I don't want to lose him" She said in between sobs and I reached out to her and gave her a hug.

I had already offendedFatherr and by now he would be so so m@d at me. I thought of taking Derrick to him but Dad could end up having me disowned, and I could also end up end@ngering his life the more.

"Should we take him to your aunt, the spiritualist?" I quizzed and her eyes popped open all of a sudden.

"Yes, you're right" She said with a finger in the air.

We drove straight to her aunty's place and as soon as she saw him, her jaw dropped.

"Take him immediately to the water king, there's nothing I can do in this case. You need to leave here now cos, he's already on his way to the great beyond" She said with gaze fixed.

Dorin turned and looked straight into my eyes.

"Please?" She said with tears dripping down her face.

I let out a deep sigh and I then nodded.

"I will" I said.

Dorin again drove to the water and I carried Derrick in my arms as I swam beyond into the water.

"Go home" I said to Dorin at the top of my voice still swimming beneath without looking back.

I knew Dad wouldn't be happy when he sees me with the human, knowing that I even went as far as his guards cos of him.

"There's no way I'm going to allow Father hurt him. And if he doesn't help revive him, then I'm going to look for the old sea turtle and tell him to help revive Derrick. Even though he's an old w!tch, I'm going to use my influence as a princess on him. He gave the guards the arrows and swords, he should be able to provide a treatment to every of it's wowoundsI said to myself swimming deep into the water as I journeyed home with Derrick in my arms...

Zika The Mermaid–Episode 7
.. And then, I started singing my favorite song as I waggled my tail, singing and dancing alone. I was expecting the other creatures to sing along like they usually do, but heard nothing. I repeated the same song the second and third time but no creature responded to the song. And at the same time , I noticed that everywhere was unusually quiet. I looked around but saw no creature.

"What's going on? I hope they are all safe. I need to swim home as fast as I can out of here " I muttered to myself, already so afra!d.

I started to swim home, turning my head and looking back to make sure that I was safe cos I wasn't hearing any creature's voice. Not even one of them was in sight. As I approached home again, no mermaid or merman passed me by. I started to wonder if everyone was safe. When I didn't see any of my kind, I doubled my pace as I swam home, so curious to know why everywhere was so quiet.

After swimming for a few more minutes, I started to hear my father's voice echoing from afar.

"Is there supposed to be any event today? Why is Dad addressing the crowd? Did anything happen after I left?" I asked myself swimming into the palace.

As soon as Father saw me from afar, he paused with his gaze fixed directly on me, and the crowd turned and started staring at me.

I swam aside slowly with head bowed and with both hands holding each other before me, I followed the other entrance at the back of the building, and rushed inside the palace after I turned back and saw that I was already out of their sight. I went straight into my room and lay there on my bed with a smile, thinking about how beautiful the day went.

About an hour later, Bishak came banging on my door, jerking me up from sleep. My eyelids were still forcing themselves down, and my eyes popped open immediately when I heard another bang.

"Who... Who is it?" I stuttered.

"Bishak. Your father asks to see you" He said.

"Oh, ok" I said, and then got out of bed.

I picked up a pain-soothing balm from my wardrobe and then rubbed it on my right cheek, cos I knew exactly what Father was going to do to me so I needed to prepare for the slap ahead. I left my room after a few seconds and headed to his room.

"Zika!" He exclaimed as soon as he saw me.
"You know exactly what I should have done to you, but, I'm going to pardon you cos of the situation at hand" He said standing with hands behind him. I was eager to know what was going on, so I popped the question " What's going on?"

He waggled forward slowly, and then raised my head with one of his fingers on my jaw as soon as he approached.

"You're getting married dear daughter" He said with a smile.

"What? Was that what that gathering was all about?" I quizzed with mouth agape.

"Yes, it was. " He replied still staring at me.

"To whom?" I asked.

"Who else? Lauren of course" He said waggling back to his former position.

"Without bothering to ask me if I'm interested?" I quizzed again.

"No one needs your opinion Zika, in fact, it's useless." He said.

"Really?" I asked with eyes glued to him.

"Of course. Your wedding to Lauren is in 5 days, so let me know whatever it is that you want and I'll provide it. Better still, you can go to your room and draft a list of all you want"

As soon as I heard that, I turned without a word and left for my room. A day passed, two, three days passed but I didn't even bother to lift a feather in preparation for my wedding. In fact, I was sleeping daily like never before. But on the fourth day, mid-day, I just woke up stretching and yawning when this little mermaid rushed into my room without even knocking.

"Zika! Zika!! A human is up by the water, and I heard her calling your name " She said innocently with eyes opened so wide.

"What?!" I exclaimed.
"Who could that be?" I asked.

"I don't know" She said in this tiny voice of hers.

"Did you tell this to any other mermaid or merman?" I quizzed and she shook her head in disagreement.

I rushed up, hurried to my wardrobe, and picked up a pink veil which I tied around my waist.

"Can you keep a secret?" I asked and she nodded sporadically.

"Make sure you don't tell this to anyone" I said and she nodded again.

I dashed out of my room, swimming to the top of the water, by the shore to see who it was, and lo and behold, it was Dorin and Derrick. I was so happy that I almost popped out my head, but I withdrew cos I didn't want Derrick to see me. I became invincible, and I swam out of the water and stood before them but none of them saw me.

"Thank you, Zika, for everything. I sold some of the precious stones you gave to me and I've made so much money from them. And if you're hearing this or any water creature is, please deliver my message to Zika, and tell her that Derrick and I are getting married by the weekend" She said hugging Derrick.

"Awnnn" I said dropping a tear, smiling sheepishly from ear to ear.

"Come on, let's go" Derrick said to her with a smile.

I was still standing there and as soon they both turned to leave, I heard voices of anger and rage all of a sudden behind me. I turned, it was Bishak and some mermen, holding swords and arrows like they were going to a w@r front.

"Look, the humans the little mermaid talked about, there they are " Bishak said pointing his sword toward Dorin and Derrick.

Derrick then grabbed Dorin's hand, and attempted to run away from there when Bishak screamed all of a sudden.

"Shoot them!!!" He ordered, and one of the mermans shot his arrow at Derrick.

"Nooo!!!" I screamed, and then made myself visible all of a sudden...

Zika The Mermaid. Episode 6
.. But, I needed to see how Derrick would react when he saw Dorin, and I wanted to be there when Dorin's father woke up from the land of the de@d. I then paused all of a sudden, and I turned with a finger on my jaw.

"Hmm... Should I go, or should I not?" I asked rhetorically with gaze fixed.
"So, what do I tell Dad, and where would I tell him I went cos he already gave me a few minutes to return home? Hmmm..." I muttered to myself, trying to think of what next to do.
"He'll forgive his naughty daughter after all" I said with a grin, and then proceeded offshore.

I sang my favorite song with joy, and every other song that came to my mind. I needed to go back into the human world to explore a little, and to find answers to some puzzles in my head. Yes, I know I'm a naughty mermaid, but it's not my fault. I love to play around, stroll, sing, and dance. Don't even know if I'll marry Lauren yet, he might not allow me to do all these after marriage you know? So I'm just going to sit all day at a spot, eat, sleep, and have kids without exploring like I love to? But, Dad would skin me alive if I refused Lauren this time.

I slowly swam out of the water swinging my tail back and forth, readjusted the veil I tied around my waist, and I made myself invincible so no human could see me. At first, I thought of going to Derrick's place but, Dorin would be eager to see her father come back to life again, so I headed straight to their place.

"Derrick could even still be there in Dorin's place." I thought to myself.

I then doubled my pace so I could reach there on time, if possible before Dorin who left just a few minutes ago and yes, I did arrive before Dorin but no one saw me except the woman who saw me earlier. She got up all of a sudden, looked left and right as if any other person was seeing me, and then rushed towards me.

"Excuse me" She said with head bowed, walking past me. I then turned swiftly and followed her to the other street where we saw no human.

"Hey, where's my niece Dorin? I thought you said you were going to send her back?" She quizzed with popped eyes.

"Yes, we did, she's already on her way home. I came here to witness the return to life of her father, just like my father had promised" I said with a smile.

"What?!" She exclaimed all of a sudden.
"Her father is going to be revived?" She quizzed with a dropped jaw, and I nodded.

"I need to go see things for myself" She said hurrying out of there.

"That's exactly why I'm here" I said with a giggle, swinging my tail after her.

Dorin had reached before us. She just reached when we both sighted her from afar, and we both rushed to her but she saw just her aunt. After hugging her aunt and exchanging pleasantries with her, she went to her mom who was still sitting on the floor with some other women before the house, and then squatted before her.

"Mother, where's father?" She quizzed but her mother turned and looked at her, unsure of what she heard.

"What?! " Her mother exclaimed all of a sudden.
"I don't understand" She said.

"I mean, where's father's b0dy?" Dorin asked again.

"In his room of course. Didn't you see him earlier before your aunty sent you on an errand?" She quizzed staring at Dorin.

Dorin busted into tears, and then started to wipe her tears, trying to make her mom believe that she was the one around earlier.

"I couldn't bear to see his b0dy mom, I was so heartbroken and in pa!n but now, I think I've summoned a little courage and I need to see his b0dy and tell him how much I loved him" She said in between sobs.

Her aunty, Nira was so curious the way she was standing and staring. Dorin finally left into the house and I and her aunty followed. She looked back swiftly, and then paused on seeing her aunt.

"Erm...Aunty, I need to speak to my father's b0dy, alone" She said looking away.

Her aunty, Nira turned and looked around.

"Don't worry, your secret is safe with me. I know about the mermaid already, and how her father promised to help bring back your father to life"

"What?! But, how did you know?" Dorin asked.

Nira giggled, and then sighed.

"Have you forgotten who I am? In fact, the mermaid is here with us" Nira said.

"What?! Zika is here?!!" She exclaimed and Nira nodded sporadically.

"But, her father gave her just a few minutes to return home after she must have seen me off. So how come she's here?" Dorin asked and on hearing that, I folded my arms immediately with my face aside.

"Not your business, Dorin" I muttered, and Nira busted into laughter.

"What? What's going on? Why are you laughing?" Asked Dorin, staring at Nira.

"She says it's not your business" Nira repeated and Dorin frowned immediately.

"You're such a naughty princess, Zika" Dorin said.

"I know that" I said.

And all of a sudden, we heard a cough from a human in one of the rooms in the house. At first, I thought it came from one of those humans around. But when Nira paused and tried to be attentive, I knew it wasn't from another human.

And then, the cough repeated again and again. Nira and Dorin looked at each other, and they both rushed into the room where the cough came from and I followed them from behind, doubling my pace. As soon as we reached, we saw a man sitting on his bed with a cup of water in his hand, sipping from it.

"Dorin! Nira!! " The man called, and then dropped the cup on a stool beside him.
"Why are you both staring at me like that? And, why is this white spread on my b0dy?" He said, yanking off the white linen used in covering his lifeless b0dy.

Dorin screamed all of a sudden, and she and Nira both took to their heels, running out of the house.

"Father is alive! My father is alive!!" Dorin screamed on reaching outside the house, and everyone trooped in to see the miracle that had just happened.

They were all sc@red to go close at first, but started jubilating after a few minutes. I stood there smiling, and then left to the back of the house where the drum of water was, it was still there. I dived into it and after a few seconds, I arrived in our water. Diving in that drum always made my journey home faster.

"Dad must be so m@d right now, let me go home to another slap from him. Oh yes, I know I'm a naughty princess"...

Zika The Mermaid –Episode 5
.. As soon as he saw me, he stood up with hands behind him. He swam towards me, and then landed a slap on my face. Everywhere became dark all of a sudden as a result of the slap. I lost balance and was about to fall when Bishak grabbed me all of a sudden.

"You're a d!sappointment, Zika. I'm so ashamed to be called your father. If you desire to become human, you can give back the girl's b0dy to her and then be turned into a human. But, one thing you must know is that, if you become human, you will never return home, ever again"

My jaw dropped as soon as I heard that, and then withdrew myself from Bishak.

"No father, I am sorry for making you feel that way. I thought... I thought I could fall in love with a human. He had all the qualities I ever wanted in a man but, I never knew that we are in two separate worlds. It's so difficult to cope with most things out there, and their way of life and thinking is so different from ours. I'm sorry father, it will never happen again" I said bowing my head, and my eyes were already becoming so teary.

He turned to Bishak, his loyal guard.

"Fetch me the human in the mermaid form" He ordered, and Bishak obeyed without a word.

After a few seconds, Bishak arrived with her. She was still in my body, but looked so unhappy.

"Look Dorin, I'm so sorry for making you go through all these, it's all my fault" I said with a hand placed on my chest, and then she managed to let out a smile.

"I know, it's not your fault" She said.

And then, a guard came in to inform Dad that some mermans were outside to see him.

"Excuse me for a few minutes " He said and then left our presence.

As soon as I heard that, I stood there staring at Dad to be sure that he had completely left. And I turned back to Dorin. I had a few questions to ask before Dad would join us.

"So what happened? Did you both wed?" I asked in a rush.

"Uhm... We almost did. The first time your father saw me, he just couldn't take his eyes off me. He marched around me with hands behind him and just wouldn't stop staring at me. After a few seconds, he took a few steps forward, whispering in my left ear "Where's Zika? " I was dumbstruck as soon as I heard that, that I stood before him stuttering ." You know what? Bishak, take her to her room immediately" Your father r@ged and I was immediately taken back into the room. And then this morning, your mother made them decorate everywhere. But your father instructed that the decorations be taken down, and that the wedding would no longer hold. I was so glad but, I was f00lish for allowing myself to be used by you. What if I had married Lauren? What would have happened to me? Even though you promised that you were going to make my father well again, and that after the wedding you were going to make me leave here to my world somehow, what if that doesn't work out? Please, I really need to return home. I don't even know the condition of my father right now." Dorin said with tears dripping from her eyes.

At that point, I started to feel extremely b@d. I started to think of how to tell her that her father was de@d. I should have gone to see the father and make him well like I promised her, but I got carried away as soon as I saw Derrick. I managed to open my mouth, she needed to know after all.

"Dorin... I'm so sorry " I said with teary eyes.

"No it's ok. My wish now is just to return home to my people" She said.

"No, not that. Just that, I didn't get to see your father before he passed" I said with head bowed.

"What?! He has passed?!!" She exclaimed all of a sudden and I nodded with head still bowed.

"How could you do this to me? You promised me that..." She said in between sobs and my Dad came in.

"Is anything the matter? Or you both no longer want to swap b0does?" He questioned staring at Dorin.

"We do, father. It's just that, her father was very sick and I promised to make him well. But, I didn't get to see him and now he passed" I said.

"Well, sorry for your loss" He said, turned and went to sit on his chair in the middle of the room.
"Now, swap b0dies and return home to your people" He added.

"What happens with Lauren, Zika?" Father asked adjusting himself on the couch.

"Well, we'll just get married. The human world is different from ours" I said calmly.

"Great!" Father exclaimed.

We swapped b0dies, and then I gave her a tight hug which she didn't reciprocate.

"I'm sorry" I whispered wiping my tears.

"How do I get out of here?" She quizzed and I asked father if I could accompany her out of the water.

"You can, but I'm giving you just a few minutes to return home" He said.

"And, to the human, get out of here now" He raged and Dorin turned swiftly to leave.

"Wait, not without wishing for 3 things" Father said again to Dorin.

Dorin looked at me as soon as she heard that.

"I wish my father could be brought back to life but I know that is no longer possible." She said wiping a tear.
"That would have been my only wish.' She added.

"Ok then, now run home to your father" He said.

"What?!" Dorin exclaimed and then I let out a smile.

I rushed into my room, brought some precious stones and then handed it over to her. She took it, stared at it, and then smiled.

"Thank you, princess Zika" She said and I nodded

I pulled her by the hand, saw her off out of the water and then I waved at her. I left there swimming home, feeling so happy and fulfilled.

It's good to be contented with whatever we have you know? I smiled.
On my way back home, a thought cross my mind and I paused all of a sudden....!
