The power of visibility.

Visibility is one powerful tool you shouldn't joke with this year.

Imagine! Just a dance got someone a husband. The interesting part was she didn't hide it in her phone, she posted it, and the rest was history. Visibility.

You have hidden potential, talents, and gifts yet to be birthed. Why not let it out?
Rather than sitting on it.
Come to think of it, what if she had hidden that video she made, would she have been celebrated like this?

Stop holding back!
It's time to act.

Stop procrastination.
You, too, can be celebrated.

You can save a life with your skills.

There's more you can do with those potentials.

Why shy away? Even the Bible commanded us to Arise, shine. (Isaiah 60:1).

If you studied mass communication or you really desire to start your own talk show or radio programme, don't start looking for money to start; start with your phone.

You have all you need to start: YOUR SMART PHONE.

Yesterday I had a talk with someone who studied mass communication.

She had reached out to me to see me so that we could talk.

She came over to see me.

In the midst of our chat, she mentioned that she studied mass communication.

She told me how she had waited to raise money to start a talk show.

She was given airtime by a media house, but before she could start, she would have to raise hundreds of thousands in order for the media house to allow her to start.

She has waited for close to a year now, and she hasn't been able to raise the money.

I had to tell her blatantly, "Go and use your phone to start. Go and record yourself interviewing someone in his or her office with your phone. Upload to YouTube."

Start that way.

I told her if she keeps waiting, she MAY never start.

I shared with her a young lady who shows up on Facebook every week doing Facebook Live.

I told her that that lady has the upper hand compared to her if both of them are asked to show their portfolios.

She has nothing to show, while that lady has something to show.

If you studied mass communication or you really desire to start your own talk show or radio programme, don't start looking for money to start; start with your phone.

Start with YouTube.

Start with Facebook Live.

Start with Instagram Live.

Stop waiting for money for airtime on TV or on the radio.

Start now.

Start with your phone.

Stop looking for money.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO STARTING

Here is step-by-step guide to starting your talk show/radio programme with your smartphone:

1. Decide what you want to focus on.

Define the focus of your talk show or podcast.

What topics are you passionate about or knowledgeable in?

2. Create a content plan.

Develop a plan for your episodes.

Make a list of potential topics, guests, or formats for your content.

4. Decide which social media platform you will use.

Select platforms like YouTube, Facebook Live, or Instagram Live for your initial broadcasts.

Research your target audience to determine the most suitable platform.

5. Create social media handles.

If you don't have them already, set up social media accounts associated with your show or you can use your already known personal account.

This will help in promoting your content.

6. Practice recording yourself or your friends.

Familiarise yourself with recording and live streaming using your phone.

Practice framing shots and ensuring good audio quality.

7. Get editing apps on Playstore.

Get whatever apps that can help you make your work better.

There are video editing apps and audio recording apps too.

8. Improvise tools.

You might need tools like tripod, ring lights, etc.

But don't fret, improvise. Stack books or some objects to hold your phone. Use natural light for your lighting. Think and improvise.

9. Record, upload and share.

Follow the steps above. Record, and upload to your preferred platform.

Share the links on WhatsApp and other social media platforms.

Boom! You have started.

Chelsea have confirmed the return of Cesare Casadei from his loan spell at Leicester City. The 21-year-old midfielder, who joined the Blues from Inter Milan 18 months ago, struggled to impress at the King Power Stadium despite the Foxes' sparkling form.

Casadei, who sees his contract at Stamford Bridge expire in 2028, featured 22 times for Enzo Maresca's side in the Championship, scoring just two goals with no assists to his name. The Italy Under-21 international didn't quite reach the heights expected of him – although he only started eight games while averaging just 39.7 minutes an appearance.

While Casadei faced some harsh criticism from sections of the Leicester fanbase, Maresca often leapt to the youngster's defence. Earlier this month, after the Chelsea ace led the Foxes to victory in the FA Cup third round, the Italian boss said people forget how young he is, and that he’s got plenty of potential waiting to be unlocked

“Cesare played a good game," said Maresca, as quoted by the Leicester Mercury. "The problem with Cesare is that people forget he is, for instance, younger than Wanya (Marcal). Because he’s so big, the people forget he is 20 years old. He was born in 2003. He’s the same age as Callum (Doyle).

"We are very happy with Cesare every time he plays, even if he misses some goals or some moments. He’s young. He’s need to improve. He’s in the right process to improve.

"Today he scored a good goal. One of the reasons he was on that side is because we know that Marc (Albrighton) loves to cross, so thinking that Marc crosses and on the other side it’s Yunus, we’d struggle a bit!

The PUNCH: The All Progressives Congress has waved off the reported plan by the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, to contest the 2027 election. The APC Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, in an interview with The PUNCH on Wednesday, described Atiku’s 2027 ambition as the most laughable news of 2024. He said the former vice-president would be defeated again.

The Guardian: Amid paucity of funds to close the gap of infrastructural deficit nationwide, there is a growing concern on routine vandalisation of available public assets, which currently costs over N132 billion in repairs yearly.

The Nation: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has tracked N30 billion of the N44 billion moved from the accounts of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). The multiple accounts to which the funds were moved by some NSIPA officials have been frozen by the anti-graft agency as part of an ongoing probe.

Daily Trust: Four people have been killed by armed robbers on Tuesday at One-Man Village, near Mararaba, Nasarawa State. The gun wielding attackers stormed Wisdom Supermarket, located along the Abuja-Keffi Expressway in Nasarawa State and took security operatives, customers and attendants unawares.

He assented to the 2024 Appropriation Bill at a brief ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.

The ceremony was witnessed by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Tajudeen Abbas.

2. LP Will Be Nigeria’s Opposition Party In 2024 — Peter Obi
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, on Monday said his party, in 2024, will adjust to a new role as Nigeria’s main opposition party.

Obi, in his New Year Message, said LP will remain firmly in opposition and keep the All Progressives Congress (APC) on its toes to protect the interest of Nigerians.

The former Governor of Anambra State said, “As Nigeria is the only country we have, deeply endowed but lacking good leadership over the years, we will continue to seek a new Nigeria that we know is possible.”

According to him, a new Nigeria is possible in spite of the numerous yet-to-be-fulfilled aspirations of citizens.

Expressing his heartfelt and warmest greetings to all Nigerians, Obi prayed to God to bless them richly and grant them good heart desires in the new year and beyond.
