‘To Facilitate Purchase Of Cars, Houses’, Tinubu Approves Credit Scheme Takeoff

President Bola Tinubu has approved the takeoff of the first phase of the Consumer Credit Scheme to facilitate the purchase of houses and cars by working Nigerians.

In a statement on Wednesday, presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale said the Consumer Credit Scheme will enhance the quality of life citizens by allowing them to “access goods and services upfront, paying responsibly over time”.

“It facilitates crucial purchases, such as homes, vehicles, education, and healthcare, essential for ongoing stability to pursue their aspirations,” the statement added.

“Through responsible repayment, individuals build credit histories, unlocking more opportunities for a better life. Additionally, the increased demand for goods and services stimulates local industry and job creation.

“The President believes every hardworking Nigerian should have access to social mobility, with consumer credit playing a pivotal role in achieving this vision.”

In line with the President’s directive to expand consumer credit access to Nigerians, the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) has launched a portal for Nigerians to express interest in receiving consumer credit.

“This initiative, in collaboration with financial institutions and cooperatives nationwide, aims to broaden consumer credit availability,” the statement nited, adding that working Nigerians interested in receiving consumer credit can visit CREDICORP’s website to express interest before the deadline date of May 15, 2024.

“The scheme will be rolled out in phases, starting with members of the civil service and cascading to members of the public.”

The CREDICORP’s objectives include: “(1) Strengthening Nigeria’s credit reporting systems, ensuring every economically active citizen has a dependable credit score. This score becomes personal equity they build, facilitating access to consumer credit.

“(2) Offering credit guarantees and wholesale lending to financial institutions dedicated to broadening consumer credit access today.

“(3) Promoting responsible consumer credit as a pathway to an improved quality of life, fostering a cultural shift towards growth and financial responsibility.”

WE LIVE IN VERY INTERESTING AND FUNNY TIMES

1.We live in times where we see many humans, but not humanity.

2.We live in times where the rich has more rooms than children and the poor has more children than rooms.

3.We live in times where smart phones bring you closer to those who are far, but distance you from those who are closer.

4.We live in times where we open Facebook, more than The Holy Book;

5.We live in times where a single mother can look after 10 children, but 10 children can't look after a single mother;

6.We live in times where the rich walk miles to digest food, while the poor walk miles to search for food;

7.We live in times where women are paid to be naked, while others have no clothes to cover their nakedness.

8. We live in times where our contact lists are huge, but our relationships are poor.

9. We live in times where our possessions are more, but our appreciation is less;

10. We live in times where we know how to earn a good living, but somehow forget how to live a good life;

11.We live in times where many know the price of everything, but not the value of anything.
Indeed, we live in a strange world. May God help and Guide Us

God bless you🙏❤️

NNENA THE SLÃVÊ:

{EPISODE 15}

How could Stella do this to me?
I couldn’t believe she actually betrayed me meaning all the things she told me were nothing but lîês.
Right then,I couldn’t think of anything.
One of my daughter was in danger and the other was dying on bed.
I had to save them first before thinking about the båstãrd.
Miraculously,Jane woke up and said she wanted to follow us and bring back her sister.
The next day,we prepared to go.
She suddenly grew healthy.
Sister Eunice collected a letter of permission and after we got ready,we hit the road.

….. Stella’s POV.
I got Tiffany to convince Josh to let me stay in his house.
I knew it sounded silly, but it just had to work.
The next day,he started warming up to me and told me I could stay with him.
I prepared his breakfast happily.

Finally,my plans were working.
Towards afternoon, Tifanny arrived with July.
I could not even recognize the little girl anymore.
She looked like a princess from fairytale land.
I welcomed them as we sat in the living room.
“Wow… she’s looking so adorable’,I said smiling at July who was sitting on Tiffany’s laps.
She was also holding a big pink teddy bear.
Tiffany looked lovingly at her, touching her long braided hair.
“She’s our joy now…my husband loves her so much and she will ever remain our child’,Tiffany said happily.
“So…how is Josh…are you getting closer to him?’, Tiffany said and I smiled shyly.
“Sort of….am trying”,I said.
“Look,I want you to marry my brother okay?
As in…you have been an helper to us’, Tiffany told me, smiling.
I smiled back.
“It’s nothing but am willing to do what you said’,I replied.
Tiffany nodded and looked down at July.
“Miranda, what’s wrong?’,she asked her and touched her temperature.
“Oh my God,again? Why are you always running into temperature?’, Tiffany asked and looked at me.
“I had to take her to our family doctor in the night…she ran into a very hot temperature last night and I was so afraid’, Tiffany said while I find something to say.
“Well…you know she is kind of adapting to her new environment.
Don’t worry, she will get used to you guys and stop the temperature”,I assured her as she nodded.
“I think I have to take her to my mum’s house so she can call our family doctor…we won’t be long.
Our family doctor doesn’t know my house or here and I have to get Miranda examined,so we have to go there.
We won’t stay long’,Tiffany said when she saw the look in my eyes.
“We won’t stay long?”,I asked again.
“Yes,we won’t stay long”.
I dressed up and we went out.

… Nnena’s POV.
When we finally arrived the street after searching for it like never before,it has changed alot.
Everywhere looks so confusing as many things had changed but I still cracked my brain and got the main Street.
I remembered vividly the day I left the street, almost five years ago now.
I was backing Jane as we walked.
As we entered further into the street,I started to get confused.
The house i once lived in seemed to have disappeared among all other houses.
“Can’t you figure it out anymore?”,sister Eunice said, sweating?
I could not answer her.
I stood at a spot, trying to gather my thoughts.
But it was just four years ago?
How come I couldn’t locate the house again.
Another house was standing on the place Josh’s house was supposed to be.
Sister Eunice took Jane from me and carried her.

Then a way to locate it came into my mind.
Back then, when we were still schooling,Josh and I had a particular route we followed everyday.
I looked at sister Eunice.
“Let’s go back to the first entry where my school is located…I know how to locate it now.
We went back back and I saw my school.
We took the left turn and walked through a narrow place and came out of the opening.
We took another turn again through a narrow part and came out of the same street then I looked to my right at the far end and smiled as I saw the house.
It had been repainted, that was why I couldn’t recognize it quickly.
“That’s the house, sister Eunice.
Yes,am very sure of it”,I said.
Just then,a car drove out from the corner and as the gates were being opened,it rolled into the compound and we started moving fast, towards the house.
It was time to get the b@stãrd busted….

THE CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT:

{EPISODE 16}

ANDERSON
I heard some strange things about Lakshmi from my friends.
I’m really confused.

Some things about Tasks!
I called on a fellow lawyer in my law firm before examining my thoughts.

She knocked on the door..
“Please come in”
I said in deep thoughts

She took a seat in my front
“You called for me?”
She said facing me

“I need your help Beth”
I said to her as I gave her Lakshmi’s picture as I silently prayed against what I was thinking

“Do you know her?”
I asked

She stared at the picture before giving me an answer
“Isn’t this Lakshmi Jones?”
She asked as I looked at her

“You know her?”
I asked in anticipation

“Of course, the famous Indian lawyer who’s known for her brilliancy in solving cases”
She said as she stared at the picture again

“I see!”
I said to her

“Wait… There’s a secret I know about her”
She said as my heart skipped a bëåt

“What’s it?”

“She’s famous for her Tasks job”
My heart beat raced up when she said that

“What’s Task?”
I said

“Male judges have s*x with her before she wins a case, that’s why she’s always wining every case!”
Beth said smiling

My heart bêåts seized as if I’m in a state of cøma.

“Any man that marries Lakshmi is unlucky. She’s just beautiful and intelligent but she doesn’t use her brains”
She further explained

This is a surprise outbreak to my hearing
“So Lakshmi…?”

“She must have her reasons but I dislike her for that”
She said cutting me off
“I need to go”
She stood up

“Ha! Thanks Beth”
I said as I couldn’t find my voice
She walked out of my office

Is that why she allowed me to have s*x with her?
She never loved me?

Was she only interested in wining her case?
Is that why she didn’t let me know if her true self?

Is that the reason why she said our relationship can’t work out?
Why didn’t she let me know of all this?

Different thoughts flowed through my head as I was confused
We’ve been dating for over six months and she never told me
I must talk to her!!!

LAKSHMI
Today was very stressful.
Ever since I met Anderson again, I’ve stopped wining cases based on s*x!

I use my brain intelligently and brilliantly to win them. He changed my life.

I walked into Anderson’s house without knocking. I’m so tired
I’m spending the night here

I saw him as he sat on one of the coloured arm chairs.
I walked past him as I dumped myself on the double chair

“I’m just so tired, today was a long day”
I said as I dropped my bag beside me

Anderson never looked at me neither did he gave a response to what I said
Strange!
He would have hugged me and throw me bunch of kïssës

“Today was boring. It was…”
I said trying to catch his attention

“Because you didn’t find a judge to fvçk you right?”
He said throwing me in utmost bewilderment and cutting my statement off

“What?!”

“Isn’t that why you came back to me? Isn’t that why you gave me your body even after 8 years?”
He said harshly

“Huh?”
I stayed in shock

“To win your case? That’s why you never disagreed when I asked for s*x!!”
He said stiffly

“Anderson?”
I called him as my heart skipped a bëåt

“Did you ever love me or you came back just because of your so called Tasks??”
He screamed out

“Hear me out”
I said trying to hold him

He moved away from me

“Don’t hold me Lakshmi!!”
He walked backwards

My heart hûrts so much
It hûrts seeing Anderson this way

“It’s fine, I’ll leave”
I walked slowly past him

“That’s what you’re good at! Leaving without a reason!!”
He said shouting

“Should I explain the reason then!”
I said turning to face him
He barely looked at me in my face

“Why I left 8 years ago? Why I became a prōstitûtê?”
I screamed out as tears fell free from my eyes

“I never called you that Lakshmi!”
He said facing me

“I’ll explain all to you”
He faced me

“After you told me of your certification, you were weary. I couldn’t afford to see you like that”

I said as he folded his arms
“So?”
He said coldly

“I gave up my certificate for you Anderson! I never wanted you to spend an extra year. I left to another law school”
I stopped as tears came running continuously

“My dad tried his best to get me another certificate faster in a new school, he spent all his money as he became bankrupted”

I closed my eyes in tears as the memories hûrts

“I didn’t get to attain my certificate despite my brilliancy, What more was left with that? Everything became hard on us. I took the decision to leave home that particular night!”

I continued in tears

“Dad followed me despite his sickness, he got into an accident when he wanted to stop me from going further into darkness”

I couldn’t hold tears as they fell free

“That’s why my dad is in a vegetative state since then! I vowed never to use my smartness to win anything. I never wanted to use my brilliancy again.”

“If only I didn’t think of leaving home, if only I was given my certificate, if only you weren’t asked to spend an extra year, My dad wouldn’t have to be in cøma”
I continued in tears

ANDERSON
I never realized I had been crying all along.
Lakshmi did all that for me?
Her dad?
Because of me?

“Lakshmi why should you go to the extent of giving up your certificate?”
I asked her in tears

“Because of the promise! I promised to help you when you’re in a situation when you can’t help yourself either ”
She said crying

I can’t believe she did all that because of the promise she made.
“Why should you ?”

“It was love. I loved you with my heart, sincerely”
She said whipping tears off my face

“I’m so sorry Lakshmi, I never knew. We could still make the relationship work!”
I said holding her hands

“No. It can’t, I’m not the right person for your love”
She said removing her hands from mine

“Lakshmi?”

“I’m sorry Anderson, I have to leave again”
She said turning

“Please, just once don’t leave”
Tears flowed down my face

“There’s no bigger punishment for me than this”
She said removing the silver necklace I bought for her

She dropped it into my hands
“Lakshmi please”

“There’s either a happy love or a sad one, do you know what ours is?”
She asked me trying to fighting back tears

“No”
I said shaking my head twice

“Ours was filled with sadness and happiness, every moment I felt were happy ones. I’m sorry”
She said before turning her back and leaving.

I couldn’t hold or run after her.

My heart felt heavy immediately she left
I broke into tears as I held my chest hard

I’m so sorry Lakshmi!
No matter what everyone says
No matter what they talk about,

You’ll still be mine forever
I promise you that!
I love you!

The Mystery behind Orashi and Ogbuide: 2 Igbo rivers that cannot mix no matter how you try.

In imo State, Nigeria there is a river known as 'Oguta Lake'. 'Oguta Lake' is among the largest water body in Nigeria. However the lake consist of two very angry rivers, called Orashi and Ogbuide. The two river can never mix no matter how you try, and they also has different colour. Orashi is muddy in colour while Ogbuide is greenish in colour.

These two river are close to each other, but they has never mix. A lot of people have tried to mix them together, but they always separate. If you put the both of them in a bucket they will seperate in the bucket, and if you put them in a smaller bucket or cup, they will split or break the cup into two.

Scientist said that the two rivers cannot mix because they have different density, and huge distinction in temperature and because of that they cannot mix, and if you try to force them their seperate density will split them apart.
However legends has another reason why the both rivers can never mix.

According to the Igbo legends, many years ago the both rivers named Orashi and Ogbuide, were both humans couple. Orashi was a man and Ogbuide was a woman, they were married and they were so much in love, but one day they had a very big fight and they became very angry with each other. The both of them separated, and they reincarnated into the two rivers, and up till now they are still very angry and that is why they can never mix.

Other Rivers That Do Not Mix

Two river in Anambra State named 'Agwazi and Obizi' can not mix.

'Waterway Ezu and Streak Omambala' can not mix as well.

Two rivers are 'Imo Nekede' named 'Ola Mmiri' and 'Ota Mmiri' can never ever mix.

Although the scientific explanation seems like a valid explanation, but what can we say about the explanation of legends. The legends can also be right because they understand history more than anyone else.

Do you think there is another reason why these rivers cannot mix?
Do you know any other rivers or stream that do not mix?

A FLASH BLACK MOMENT IN HISTORY:

On December 31, 1948 - LaDonna Adrian Gaines, known by her stage name, Donna Summer, was a Black American singer and songwriter who gained prominence during the disco era of the late 1970s and was born in Boston, MA, on this date in 1948.

A five-time Grammy Award winner, Summer was the first artist to have three consecutive double albums reached number one on the United States Billboard album chart and charted four number-one singles in the United States within a 13 month period.

Summer has sold over 150 million records worldwide. Summer first became involved with singing through church choir groups before joining a number of bands influenced by the Motown Sound.

Also influenced by the counterculture of the 1960s, she became the front singer of a psychedelic rock band named Crow and moved to New York City.

Joining a touring version of the musical Hair, she spent several years living, acting, and singing in West Germany, where she met music producer Giorgio Moroder. Also while in Europe, she married Helmut Sommer, an anglicized version of whose surname she adopted as her stage name.

After returning to the United States, Summer co-wrote the song "Love to Love You Baby" with Pete Bellotte. Moroder convinced her to sing it herself, and it was released in 1975 to mass commercial success, particularly on the disco scene.

Over the following years Summer followed this success with a string of other hits, such as "I Feel Love", "Last Dance", "MacArthur Park", "Hot Stuff", "Bad Girls", "Dim All the Lights", "No More Tears", and "On the Radio". She became known as the "Queen of Disco" and regularly appeared at the Studio 54 nightclub in New York City, while her music gained a global following within the gay and non-gay communities.

She struggled with depression, and subsequently she became a born-again Christian in 1980. Diagnosed with lung cancer, Summer died on May 17, 2012, at her home in Naples, Florida. She was posthumously described as the "undisputed queen of the Seventies disco boom" who reached the status of "one of the world's leading female singers." Moroder described Summer's work with him on the song "I Feel Love" as "really the start of electronic dance" music.

In 2013, Summer was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DONNA SUMMER!!!!!! {R.I.P}

Louise Beavers was a breakthrough actress for African Americans and one of the best character actresses of the classic Hollywood period. She triumphed during a time when she was forced to endure blatant, discouraging and demeaning stereotypes.

"1930s and 1940s film actress Louise Beavers was merely one of a dominant gallery of plus-sized and plus-talented African-American character actresses forced to endure blatant, discouraging and demeaning stereotypes during Depression-era and WWII Hollywood. It wasn't until Louise's triumphant role in Fannie Hurst's classic soaper Imitation of Life (1934) that a film of major significance offered a black role of meaning, substance and humanity.

Despite the fact that Louise was playing yet another of her endless servile roles as housekeeper Delilah who works for single white mother Claudette Colbert, this time around her character was three-dimensional and not merely a source of servitude and/or or comic relief.

She had her own dramatic story and brilliantly handled the heartbreaking co-plot of an appeasing single parent whose light-skinned daughter (played by Fredi Washington) went to cruel and desperate lengths to pass for white.

While Louise certainly championed in the role and managed to steal the lion's share of reviews right from under the film's superstar, the movie triggered major controversy and just as many complaints as compliments from both black and white viewers.

This certainly did not help what could have been a major, positive shift in black filmmaking. Instead, for the next two or more decades Louise was again forced to retreat into secondary status with precious few opportunities to shine.

"The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" is a novel by Mark Twain that follows the journey of a young boy named Huck Finn as he escapes from his abusive father and travels down the Mississippi River with Jim, a runaway slave.

Along the way, they encounter various adventures and characters, including the feuding Grangerford and Shepherdson families, the frauds known as the Duke and the King, and Tom Sawyer, Huck's friend who joins them in their escapades.

Through Huck's eyes, the novel explores themes of freedom, racism, morality, and friendship.

Huck grapples with questions of right and wrong, often defying societal norms to follow his own moral compass. Ultimately, Huck and Jim's journey down the river becomes a metaphor for the search for freedom and the complexities of American society.

This is ONYINYECHI Salome Zogg. Her mom is Nigerian of Igbo extraction and her dad is Swiss. She was born and raised in Switzerland. She plays international football and has featured for Nigeria's Super Falcons
However, all ONYINYECHI from my village and our villages, born and raised in our villages have changed their names to GIFT, PARCEL, HAMPERS, SOVEINIR, and every nonsense to become "onye ocha" and NOT BE IGBOTIC.
Shame on all inferior people who will tell you that "people will not know how to pronounce my name. Gift is the meaning of my name in English"
Onye England, ekenem gi in your inferiority. Tufiakwa

Marketers eye N500/litre petrol, set to load refined petroleum products from Port Harcourt Refinery

Oil marketers are gearing up to load refined petroleum products from the Port Harcourt Refining Company, as workers at the facility race to get it set for production on the directives of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.

Dealers confirmed on Friday that the PHRC was almost set to start releasing products, projecting a N500/litre price for Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, from the Port Harcourt refinery in Rivers State.

They also expressed optimism that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery would crash PMS price below N500/litre when it starts releasing products. Dangote refinery is projected to start supplying petrol to the market in May, as it currently supplies diesel to dealers.
