Journey of Faith, the lead article for the maiden edition of Essence Restored Magazine, uncovers the facts behind how the Faith left behind by the Lord has fared in men’s hands. Through accurate facts and findings, the article sheds light on the issue of the Faith down the years. Read some excerpts below.
“On that mountain top, just before His ascension, He wasn’t just giving a ‘great commission’, He was committing to their charge the Faith, for which he had suffered in the hands of men, and committing them to trade with it...”
“That was the singular resource He left behind – His faith. He did not leave money, a religion, an anointing, structures or institutions behind, but the Faith... [It was] a living legacy of His life of submission to the will and purpose of the father...”
“...despite the intensity of the opposition that the Church has been subjected to, it is still standing strong...What is it that has kept the Church going? Buried deep within her is the life-force of the Kingdom which does not die – the Faith; this same faith, destined by God not to stop until it hits its mark...the church occupies a position in actualising the mission of Faith and her condition either deters or enhances this quest. She has and will continue to be the vehicle in which the Faith must journey”.
Talking on the pioneers of Faith, the article states;
“What had energized the brothers to stand firm at the expense of their lives was their confidence in the Faith...and also in the Church – that she would continue to preserve its simplicity, purity, passion, focus, and apostolic foundation on which she was built in order to remain a mighty expression of the life of the Kingdom...”
“Judging, however, by what we see all around us in Christendom today, we cannot help wondering how these heroic pioneers must be feeling right now, if they ever had an opportunity to observe the current trend...It holds, therefore, that this generation is under obligation to contend earnestly for that Faith that the fathers had received and passed down to it”.
“...if we are serious about getting things right, we need to start re-examining our paradigms as touching what the Faith really is: its primary objectives...and the corporate destination of the Church i.e. the precise picture of what the finish looks like”.
“Our salvation call goes more than a desire to go to Heaven; otherwise, we should have been taken home to be with the Lord the day we said ‘Yes’ to Him. Our prayers must begin to centre on ‘Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done’ and ‘Maranatha, come Lord Jesus’...this is a core emphasis...”
“The imperfections of previous generations and their inability to advance into fullness and consummate God’s eternal agenda could have been due to the wrong perceptions that have been developed in this regard...Thus, it becomes imperative to lay much emphasis on the need to discover the true essence of the Faith”.
