Topic: The force of commitment
Text: 2 Timothy 4 vs 7
Commitment is taking the first step forward and pushing through obstacles until the last and stretching your limit until answer comes.
Commitment involves daily practice and involvement till the end of the game.

AREAS TO BE COMMITTED
1) Commitment to integrity - 2 PETER 3 vs 14. Integrity involves acting and living/modelling the things you belief/teach and confess.
How to maintain integrity is by being transparent.

2) Commitment to study God's word - 2 TIMOTHY 2:15

3) Commitment to make no provision for the flesh - ROMANS 13:14 (AMP).
Intentionally avoid many things and places. Don't create an atmosphere that will be a temptation to your flesh.

4) Commitment to have a pure thought - 2 CORINTHIANS 10:5

5) Commitment to trust the Lord and rest upon him

6) Commitment to build and have godly relationships

7) Commitment to be a blessing/encourage anyone that comes your way from now on

After having a conversation with a friend yesterday, i had so many thoughts running through my mind.

A song writer wrote 'thus we would pass from this World/Earth and it's toiling, only remembered by what we have done.

The question is, What have you done, What will you be remembered for, Which life have you affected, How many people will your death really touch, if i am to narrow it down more to a profession, How many people have taken life assurance with your life in which, a loss of your life is the end for them. Hmmmmm

As we go through life, let's not forget that if God doesn't tarry, we will all go and never to return one day. Let's be guided as we sojourn through life by these three things
* The fear of God
* Our conscience
* A sense of posterity.

SAD: Four-day-old baby survives as generator fumes k!ll trader, his wife, their two children, mother-in-law and apprentice in Anambra

A trader, Ifeanyi, his wife, Amaka, two children, mother-in-law and apprentice have d!ed after inhaling poisonous fumes from a generator in Anambra State.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, who confirmed the incident to Punch on Friday, July 21, said the police were yet to unravel the real circumstances surrounding their d£ath. "The matter is still being investigated and the details will be communicated as soon as investigation is concluded,” the PPRO added.
It was gathered that the family was celebrating their first night in their newly built mansion at Nkwelle Ezunuka in Oyi Local Govt Area, near Onitsha, when the incident occurred. Ifeanyi hailed from Enugu State, and was a trader at the Onitsha Bridge Head Market.
According to the publication, the man’s wife had delivered a baby on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. To give the wife a surprise gift, the man quickly arranged for the family to move to their new house. Sources in the area said it was the family’s first night in their new residence, adding that only the four-day-old baby survived.

The source said the incident was made known when a friend who was supposed to join them in the celebration that night, but couldn’t meet up, went to the deceased’s house only to discover that the doors were locked with the generator still on. The manager of St. Charles Borromeo Hospital, Onitsha, where the victims were rushed to, Rev. Fr. Izunna Okonkwo, also confirmed that only the newborn baby was in a stable condition when they arrived at the hospital for medical care.
The entire members of the family were in their new mansion celebrating when suddenly there was a power outage. The man had to put on the generator stationed at the verandah close to the bedroom,” a source explained. The celebration continued into the night before they all slept off and didn’t switch off the generator

Over and over again, we have all found ourselves asking lots of questions, trying to figure out what has been happening beyond our powers, trying to keep up even in the midst of the challenges and daily struggles of life.
Another song that was written by a renowned psalmist says "... And the captain of my destiny, in you alone i make my boast, you reign alone as Lord of all".

Beautiful and handsome friends, Jesus never fails and he won't fail now. The word i have for someone this beautiful morning is don't just hold on but, rejoice because you have conquered.
