President of the African Table Tennis Federation (ITTF Africa), Wahid Enitan Oshodi, has enthused about the prospect of kick-starting his four-year tenure with the ITTF Africa Cup holding in Tunis, Tunisia between February 25 and 27.

*Oshodi was unanimously elected as the 6th President of the ITTF Africa during the Elective Annual general Meeting (AGM) held at the African Union (AU) headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, last October.

Oshodi , who took over from Egypt’s Khaled El-Sally, became the second Nigerian to lead the continental body , following Eng. Segun George, who served from 1988 to 1996.

Edem Offiong has joined US table tennis academy as coach

Retired Nigerian table tennis legend Edem Offiong has joined the Texas-based Lonestar Table Tennis Academy in the United States as a coach.

The five-time Olympian, who announced her retirement after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, has been described as a valuable addition to the academy located in Austin, Texas.

In a statement, the academy expressed their excitement: “We are thrilled to announce thatl five-time Olympian Edem Offiong is joining Lonestar Table Tennis Academy as a full-time practice partner.”

They welcomed the Nigerian star, noting that her two decades of experience will be invaluable to the academy.

Ashleigh Plumptre signed Al-Ittihad contract extension till 2027.

The former Leicester city female team player joined the Saudi side September 2023.

Despite a setback from a cruciate ligament injury that kept her sidelined for several months,Al-Ittihad’s faith in her ability is clear, making this contract extension a monumental moment in her career as she continues to lead the team forward.

The super falcons defender represented Nigeria at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Plumptre continues to prove herself as one of Africa’s top defenders.

Plumptre’s resilience has been evident both for club and country.

Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo has scored his first goal since he turned 40 years.

Ronaldo found the back of the net as the Saudi Pro League side recorded a 3-0 win over Al Feiha.
