When the collective wealth of a state are enjoyed by less than 5% minority,who takes home on monthly bases millions of naira salaries and allowances amidst plight of majority citizens who languish in poverty,lack of jobs,hash economic polies, inflation, high cost of foods,no salaries or low income,no health insurance, affordable housing, education, electricity or social amenities and plus imminent security threats .....

Nigerians are currently battling war against hunger, high cost of foods and no salaries or low income...

The government should realized that large majority of Nigerians are self employed as a result of no government jobs, this Nigerians whose businesses are currently crumbling as a result of current rise in petrol price and exchange rate would later become jobless or low income earners...

Removal of subsidy without 24/7 electricity to help businesses that depends on power to operate will cripple the economy

Giving palliative to 12million Nigerian house holds only without giving loans or support to self business operators is like selling your dog to buy cat

Florting the naira and allowing importers to bring in goods at their own rate and determine their selling price and still collecting high import duties and Levies on this goods

Subsidy was the only thing poor Nigerians were benefiting from the leadership,,, taking it away without long time measures is a war the government can never will.

Because when people gets tired of a situation, when everyone becomes a victim,they will revolt against the cause.when they revolt they do something extra ordinary different...

The future with this current situation can only be endured but not stand the taste of time

A woman in the US had to give up her N1.5 billion lottery prize to her former husband after she hid the money from him during their divorce. The woman, Denise Rossi, won the jackpot 11 days before she filed for divorce from Thomas Rossi, her husband of 25 years. Read more:

Governor of Benue state, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia has sacked all political appointees under the Ortom administration serving in the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies with a directive to hand over to the most senior civil servants in their offices.

The chief press secretary to the governor, Mr Tersoo Kula disclosed this to journalists at a briefing after an emergency meeting.

Present at the meeting was the first five political appointees of the new administration, as well as top civil servants who are responsible for the payment and management of salaries and pension.

According to Kula, the decision comes after the last three days of unscheduled visitations by Governor Alia to MDAs, where he uncovered a lot of decay and inefficiency in the management of public utilities.

The Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, have opened their petition against President Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), by calling one witness out of the 50 proposed.

Before the witness, who is a lawyer and hails from Anambra testified, counsel to Peter Obi, Jibrin Okutepa, tendered a judgement from a district court in the United States, which reportedly indicted Tinubu and ordered his forfeiture of $460,000 in drug-related offences.

The Presidential Election Petitions Court reconvened after a week on Tuesday to begin the definite hearing of the petitions by the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), alongside their parties, challenging Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 election.

The hearing commenced, led in evidence by Okutepa, with an Anambra-based lawyer and LP witness, Lawrence Nwakaeti, tendering the certified true copy of the US district court judgement.

After cross-examination, counsel to Tinubu, Wole Olanipekun, said the witness admitted that the judgement was not registered in Nigeria.

The lawyer also admitted that there was no certificate from any consular in Nigeria or America in support of the judgement but insisted that the judgement speaks for itself.

He claimed to have read the whole judgement in America, adding that he would be surprised if no mention was made of $460,000 forfeiture.

Under cross-examination by counsel to APC, Lateef Fagbemi, the witness said the American court judgement had no certificate given under the hand of any American police officer.

He denied knowledge of a February 4, 2003, formal clearance report by a legal attaché from the American embassy in respect of the alleged indictment and forfeiture.

The court subsequently admitted it in evidence.

Ebonyi state Governor Francis Nwifuru, has ordered a freeze of all bank accounts operated by the state government.

Monday Uzor, chief press secretary to the governor, said the directive is effective from May 30 till further notice.

Uzor said all banks where these accounts are domiciled must comply.

“His Excellency, the governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has directed the immediate freezing of all state government accounts domiciled in various banks with effect from Tuesday, 30th May 2023,” the CPS said.

“Consequently the governor directs the bank managers of all the banks that operate government accounts to immediately comply by ensuring that no payment is made from any government accounts till further notice.”

The governor’s directive came hours after he took over the reins of power in Ebonyi.

He succeeds David Umahi, former governor of the state and now a senator-elect.

The Presidential Candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi and his running mate in the February 25 poll, Datti Baba-Ahmed attended the Presidential Election Petitions Court hearing on Tuesday in Abuja.

Though Obi had attended a number of proceedings in the past few weeks, Datti-Ahmed attended court proceedings for the first time on Tuesday, a day after the inauguration of the candidate, Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s President.

The Labour Party is expected to call just one witness today. The party had previously said it would call 50 witnesses to testify against the victory of Tinubu, and will need seven weeks to get this done.

Meanwhile, the Tribunal on Tuesday adjourned hearing of the petition of the Allied People’s Movement against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), APC and others to June 2.

The adjournment is to give the petitioner time to acquire a certified true copy of the Supreme Court Judgment, delivered May 26, 2023, which laid to rest the controversies around the double nomination of Kashim Shettima.

Permit me to begin this address by expressing my immense gratitude to God. I am also most grateful to the great people of Enugu State for the opportunity they have given me to serve them as their governor. I will forever be grateful to you for this honour.


Let me also thank all those who contributed to the success of this governorship struggle. It began as a tiny conception, as small as the mustard seed. Today, it has acquired a life of its own. Time constrains me from naming all of you, one by one, who contributed to the maturation of this idea. However, let me be quick to put on record the invaluable contributions of the immediate past governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyichukwu Ugwuanyi, Gburugburu The Great, to what we are celebrating today. Posterity will certainly be kind to you for your deep sense of patriotism. To you all, I remain forever grateful.

Today is a historic day in the life of Ndi Enugu. Again, providence is placing Enugu State at the threshold of history. As offspring and heirs of a great historical heritage, we are aware of our proud and lofty past. Right on this soil, our forebears worked relentlessly for the greatness of Nigeria. We are inheritors of centuries of pedigree of a hardworking, industrious and brave Igbo race. Our forebears toiled to produce the coal that powered Europe and grew her economy, extracting the black gold locked inside the bowels of the earth.

We thus cannot be repositories of this great history and yet be laden with poverty and want. It will be unacceptable for us to be heritages of those massive resources that are still buried in the bowels of our soil and yet be trapped in underdevelopment. It is a contradiction of immense proportion which we are poised to unravel.

We cannot afford to delink from our glorious past. The soil of Enugu boasted of a retinue of
